it'll be fine, SC4 doesnt really mind multi-core PC's it should throw a fit, however if it does, you can always keep it on "Core0" seems to run fine on my Quad Core Q6600 EDIT: The graphics will be fine, it runs fine on my 8800GTS 640MB. leave it on hardware unless theres a problem

Hallo people of the ST community reciently ive set up abit of a brain child of mine, its a review site for well reviews... we try and cover Games, Film's, Music Hardware and Software which i think is quite a broad band of things to cover. We have now got access to a forums (that i have borrowed off my mate who's hosting account i am on) and we are currently looking for reviewers and of course reviews. as such we currently have less than 10 reviews and we have only been up 5 days. found another disc (off a friend) and still the problem occurs. it has to be somthing to do with my partitioning style and Hard drive layout and i have no reason why. i have even sifted through the registry and deleted all of the Sim city related keys before reinstalling. i havent a clue what to do now and i realy dont want to format to correct this. any other ideas?

i know that, sorry i used that term loosly. but still i think its the discs that are causing the problems even though there are no problems wit the disc that i can see.

Ive just moved my "My Documents" folder back to its origional Location on the Windows Drive (C Drive) and ive just installed Sim City 4 to its default install Location (on Drive C) but it still doesnt want to load. Ive watched the game install. It does actually tranfer all the files correctally and gets to 100% without a problem, and ive noticed that the "please wait..." window shows up for about half a second before closing again. Thats when the egg timer cursor comes on and then goes off after about 10 seconds. During the times that the egg cursors on the Simcity4.exe and the EA .tmp files are active in the Task manager. and Simcity4.exe starts using a larger amount of ram as time goes by when its active (and i know this is normal for all games when they start up) but it still ends suddenly. Im actually thinking that my copy of Sim City 4 is causing the problem as it has been ages since i tested the game and about a year since i last used the CD, it could be a scratch on the disc or that the disc has decided to go corrupt. Ive tested Sim city 4 with a NO CD Crack and before i get shouted at this is perfectally legal if i own an origional copy of the game (which i do) and it still doesnt load. so i think it has to be somthing to do with The CD's themselves so im currently hunting for another set. Anyway thanks for your help guys

Hello everyone. been a while since ive been on here. anyway... i thought it was about time to have another fun time at Sim city 4 after i formatted, i just bought another 400GB hard drive to go along with my 200GB i already have. Ive partitioned the 200GB in the following layout: (DRIVE C) 40GB partition ---> Windows and critical programs only (DRIVE D) 150GB partition ---> Most programs/games (Steam, HL2...) the other 400GB hard drive isnt partitioned in any way so windows sees 3 hard drives in total. so i try to install Sim city 4 to my drive D where all my games and other software is installed to. although it seems to install ok, it reaches 100% and im not presented with a please wait box or anything, it simply closes and displays the eggtimer crosshair for about 15 seconds. after that there is no finished box or anything. So i thought it had finished installing so i clicked on my Sim city 4 icon. and and and..... well nothing happened, it looked as if it was going to load for about 10 seconds (eggtimer cursor) but it just stops. Ive watches the process window in the Windows Task Manager closly and when i load Sim city 4 the standard Simcity4.exe comes up and also an EA temp file (.tmp i think) also comes up. i know this is normal but after the eggtimer has gone they dissapear from the task manager's process window and dont load. I'm totally confused and i have no idea what can be causing the problem. i remember reading a few years back that Sim city 4 had a fit if you didnt install it to where windows was installed. but i dont remember reading anything about Sim City having a fit if your hard drive was partitioned or if you had a secondry Hard drive. The only cause i can think of myself is that ive Moved my My Documents Folder from my 40GB partition on my 200GB hard drive to my empty(ish) 400GB hard drive, i did this by simly editing the My Documents shortcut on my desktop to point to my other hard drive. but still i dont think this could cause a problem. im currently trying to reinstall Sim city 4 to my Drive D (150GB) and apply Rush Hour to it to see if that has any positive effect on the whole thing. and thanks for your Help in advance Cheers

This was tried a few months ago by ACEfanatic, he was in the middle of making a relistic Modular nuclear power plant but RL got in his way. i followed the topic as much as i could but there hasnt been any posts in about 2/3 months. In his topic (https://www.simtropolis.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=37&threadid=81526) i showcased a few of my bats that were nearing completeion (one that was finished and just needed to be released but it was lost when i formatted) I cannot make any modular power plants but i am gonig to finish a realistic BAT of a Nuclear power plant for you guys. Youve inspired me to start BATting again

hmm..... i was working on the Citigroup Tower and finished a BAT of it, although it was lost when i formatted, if you wish id save you the hastle and Re-BAT it if you wanted.

I hope this project gests back underway soon, i am itching for double decker highways! good work, please please please keep it up and finish the project!
