  1. Show us Your Flags!

The as of now unused flag of the Patrician Empire, in my CJ, Patrician City:
  2. Show us your Railroads!

Anti-Grid Railroads? I imagine it's related to the Fractional Angle Roads at 3RR. You should post that in the Show Us Your Anti-Grid thread if you haven't already.
  3. The Patrician Showcase

WOW, all these replies already. Here's mine: dfnva: Thank you. Although about half of them are experimental jacqulina: Thank you. manman99: I am working on that. The last update was mostly experimental phase. More will follow. Rictiovarus: Visitors will have to have a satnav system . But the same was said of the Greater Terran Region.... Schulmanator: Sure is. haljackey: As most of my regions are works in progress, I am working on removing weaving areas and reqorking interchanges. Your advice is welcome. edmonton_stinks: Perhaps you should. If you're talking about the fused grid, your Sims would have a good setup. No update now. I just saw all these replies and thought I'd answer them.
  4. Show Us Your Suburbs

The monster suburb of Franklin, surrounded by parks:
  5. Show us your Skyscraper Districts!

I present the suburb of Franklin:
  6. Where did you start?

I started playing Simcity 2000 back in 1998, and I've been a fan ever since.

I use fused grid systems for almost all my inner city (medium density, some high) res developments and some of my suburbs, it works very well, i usually form the grid roads with highways or avenues/dual carriageways and make the junctions to the subdivisions grade seperated to maintain the through traffic speed. Unfortunatly i dont have any screenshots atm though quote> I looked at the city on Google Earth, and here's 2 shapshots: I can see how it would be hard to walk in the place. Here is my first fused grid 'experiment' for comparison: Enjoy. - Patricius Maximus

You can take a break from updating, and you'll have a fresh start. I'll be waiting patiently for your return.
  9. The Patrician Showcase

s_olah: Thank you. You will see more The Western District tour will be in the next update. For now here's a new mega-avenue roundabout that serves 8 AVENUES: Beautification and scenery will be added later and it'll be shown when finished. Also, I have been experimenting with the Fused Grid plan. I have found that it works! It looks attractive, you can use the SAM with it, and it is traffic efficient: The Western District tour will be in the next update. After that, I will showcase a fused grid city, plus the finished avenue roundabout area. Please post comments and/or suggestions
  10. Out Of The Ashes

    Looking forward to it, Cornish.

To me, the original series was so impossibly bad, I couldn't imagine anyone making it into a big-budget movie (I admit, I am not an anime fan). They've been kicking this movie around in various incarnations for 20 years, and Johnny Depp was considered for the lead at one point. I'll bet they wish they had kicked it around a while longer, and maybe had Spielberg direct.quote> If it was a bomb, it certainly was a dud (although I can't see how they could waste $100,000,000 on this thing).
  12. A new level of silliness in civil rights!

As far as I'm concerned, if the people of Switzerland want plant rights, then let them. However, I believe that full rights should be the domain of sapient species, and that some rights should be transferred to animals to ensure they are not having any torture or degrading treatment (as per Geneva Conventions, etc..)
  13. MySpace cyberbully indicted over suicide

I find the whole thing rather perplexing -- why would anyone in their right mind commit suicide because of some online communications? Also, I communicate a lot here at ST. But that is all -- communication -- not trust. Being excessively trusting of people you don't know is a dangerous weakness...

  17. Patrician City

UPDATE 22: NEW TENSIONS AND A NEW EMPEROR First of all, I have a new banner for this CJ in my sig: Notice the planet Darida, and the Mercury capsule in the corner. I think it suits the storyline better . Please post feedback on it. Also, I see that I have over 1700 views, but only 90 of you have replied. That is only 5% of viewers. So, I make a request to all of you lurkers: Come out! Post a comment! Your feedback is greatly appreciated. 14 years after the arrival, Patricius Maximus's reign was now one that lasted 59 years. He had selected a suitable heir to his throne, his friend and protegé, Patricius II. Before the coronation ceremony, Patricius Maximus infrormed Patricius II that he will stay in the capital city for "governmental assistance". The ceremony took place overlooking the irrigation fields, which feeds the swelling population: 14 years, 2 months, and 23 days after the asteroid impact on the former planet, Patricius II took up the position of Emperor of the Patrician Empire. 2 days later, word reached Patricius that construction crews had arrived near the Patrician border with Darida. 50 minutes later, a jet recon flight reported that a wall was being constructed. Also, over in the Daridan capital, Aurius made a radio transmission to Patricius II. He announced, "Patricius -- we will not have our population depleted by the lure of your fertile lands. Therefore, we are constructing this wall in self-defense. Any attempts to interfere with it's construction will constitute a declaration of war." Both Patricius Maximus and Patricius II chartered a flight to the Daridan capital, in an attempt to cut a deal with Aurius: Please post comments and/or suggestions.

I like I-495 around Washington, I-95 in Virginia and Maryland, and some other minor stretches.
  20. A few questions

In my opinion, the key to successs is don't think about the individual city -- Think regionally. Then you will have many more possibilites....
  21. Show us Your Interchanges!

Gunny, a good Y interchange. The residents will have a good way to get to their work. Here is a trumpet interchange I made. After construction, the highway had to continue, so an overpass was constructed, forming a Multi-RHW on the other side: Please post comments and/or suggestions.
