Most of those buildings would require a few months of work ;D I have Penn Station already started and I would say modeling is finished in about 40% T Wrecks - I could add some transparency to the blinds but I'm afraid it would extend rendering time ... Ok, so, I'm almost done, I just need to add some furniture inside, fix one bug on the roof and add some exterior lights aaand it will be ready to export- 117 Replies

Yay! It's great to see you Alex! The building looks good but there are two things I want to draw your attention to: 1:The corners of northern elevation of this building are rounded. 2: I might be wrong on this one but it seems to me that the windows are generally too narrow in comparison to their height. -

SimCoug - Thank you MushyMushy - Well, this style isn't really my cup of tea, I can only offer classical buildings of this ... caliber cmdp123789 - Thank you! Toothless Stitch - Soo... it looks good then? (since I aim to make a good recreation of the real building)- 117 Replies

I could tweak the leaves a bit but I'm not sure about glass, I'm afraid it will take ages to render when I add more reflection to it (Not to mention time of the night render...) Besides you can see the reflections in side elevations They're just not that evident. Besides, I used arch&design glass material, isn't it physically correct or something?- 117 Replies

Ok, I really needed some break from 27E27th Strret so I started this building a few days ago: Who knows where it stands?

You mean this machine thingy in the back of the roof? I wanted to but I can't find any pictures how it looked Thank you! I spent some time making it from the scratch Guys, can I assume that the blinds look ok and move on to nightlights (yes, after I fix texture around AC unit, I hear you Vlasky )?

Thank you I was working on hotel Penn but it is currently on hold till I finish working on 27E27th Street for IM and then I want to work on hotel Penn a bit more before I show it to you guys Yes it is quite empty now but that's how it looked back in the 50's See for yourself: Since I made the front elevation as it appeared originally I decided that I will make the rest of the building the same way Of course! What? You thought I would leave it as it is? I'm not sure now, I was going to put furniture inside but it looks like the blinds will block the view anyway so... But you're right about space around AC unit, I'll work on it after I'm finished with the blinds You can see the comparison with/without blinds on the front elevation:

I think you exaggerate the "problem" a bit If the building will grow in wrong place they can just demolish it and wait for something different to grow there (and I understand that this is how people build their cities). There's only one blank wall, it faces the back of the city block, people can easily put there some W2W building and it will look realistic. Hotwheeler - Yes, 4x6 tiles It's between 5 and 6 tiles long so I'm going to make it 6.

Haha, thanks! Thanks, I took your advice. By the "difference on the first floor" you mean the "blind" panels on the ground floor? I forgot to replace some of the old ones with new version Small update; the only thing that's left is to add trees and roller blinds.

You mean some huge, glass skyscraper? Noo, once I'm done with this one I'm going back to my columns and cornices Looking at the Google Maps satellite images, the tiles are much smaller, and the roof is somewhat darker. I think the grime looks very good so far. Not sure on this monitor, but I think the entire material may have a slight greenish tint to it - if so, then changing it to better match SimCity's usual colour palette would also help. However, since the grey background doesn't look so neutral on this monitor, either, the impression is probably due to the hardware I'm using and not to the material. Oh no no, the material of the roof itself is good, it looks like the one from the photos when the building was brand-new I meant this large AC unit, or rather - the small space around it :/

Great work on the roof, it looks very good In fact the whole building looks great -
Well, it looks pretty great to me But I would wait for the advice from Vlasky, he's good with this kind of buildings

TekindusT - It was very nice hotel in the olden days Now it's only shadow of itself... Vlasky - Thank you cmdp123789 - Thank you JP Schriefer - Thank you Hotwheeler - Originally it was called "New York Life Insurance Company Annex" since it was addition to the main headquarters across 27th street. I don't know under what name I will upload it Yeah, there really isn't much roofjunk on this building, there was even less of it when the building was new A cafe on the rooftop for the employees would be great idea Experimenting with roof materials... I can't get them right :/

Thank you guys for your kind words! So, as you probably know by now, I agreed to contribute to NYBT International Month (yeah, can't believe it too ) this will by my first BAT in this style, I'm working hard to make it look good. The building is located on Madison Avenue between 27th and 28th street. I refer to is as 27E27thStreet:

So, me being me, I made quick, block-model of Hogwarts and it looks like the castle is about 300x380m (including training grounds and great viaduct in front but without Wooden Bridge). I think it might be too big to export it
