here's the problem: BAT buildings' night lighting doesn't work, AND i have the newest lot editor, BAT, props files, etc, that i could get from simcity.com as of yesterday. still, no night lighting in BAT created buildings, like the WTC building, HSBC building, Wal*Mart, etc... anything else to check? they seem to work fine on LEX buildings. dave

i think the toughest thing about doing san diego to scale would be not just diving straight into La Jolla or Pacific Beach. it does look like the roads are coming along rather quickly at least, given how messed up SD's road system really is. https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/1.gif> dave

downtown i-5 is weird, it's a raised ground level highway, in that the ground it's on has been raised into a terrace on the hills usually, and then the other streets pass under it until first, then it becomes a ground level highway. to get the right look for 5, it should probably just be a raised highway, that's the most representative of the on-ramps anyway. 163 is just a 2-lane ground highway in the bottom of a canyon, that kind of splits into 2 streets after it hits 5. you've done as well as SC4 will let you do with the 163 i think though. and given the map, it looks like you have the scale just about right. everything seems to be lining up with the right geographic features anyway. dave

You're doing a really amazing job, just looking at the road pictures I can name nearly every road you've laid. If you can keep it up, I think you'll top San Francisco with this one. If I could BAT I'd work on the Harbor Towers or NBC Tower, but I'm pretty useless at 3d stuff. If any SD stuff comes out do you plan on using it? Dave

i know it's not quite a specific request, but i was realizing as i was placing the new bus stops that i could really use a few things - a nuclear power plant that doesn't look like it's pulled from the simpsons would be nice. some suburban schools would be great to see out of the bat - i think every town in america has a nice generic one that would have to look better than the vanilla school. a bigger prison complex would be nice, or a realistic looking city jail. i've never seen a holding center that looks like that thing in the game, which appears to be a bit off scale too. i know there's LEX available of generic schools and other lots, but these BAT projects i keep seeing look so good i'd love to see what kinds of small, utilitarian buildings some of you BATters could pull off. and since i always make west coast cities, a Spanish styled mission would rock. this is the Father Junipero Sierra Museum (also a former church) located in a park in San Diego. it's not only one of the first European structures on the west coast, but also a very photogenic building. i can stop by there and take more pictures if needed, there's a bunch on the web also. it'd be a great addition for those of us who try to make california style cities. dave

very cool terrain - it looks very realistic, even if it looks a little non-Earthen. dave
