chriss - Because The E/W Connector was biult long before the airport was planned. The E/W Connector itself has to go under the airport however the terminal was planned so far North that it was best to biuld another freeway. The reason for the design of sending you west / east / south on 104 was for several reasons... #1 There are obstructures by the airport that prevent it from continueing directly North, room was needed for the parking decks / rail station. #2 Highway 104's purpose wasn't only to satisfy the transportation to the airport... The second exit leads to Fireplace - would you like to drive through a busy airport terminal while you're commuting to Fireplace every morning? -

Zarp - Okay, I'll begin setting it up after I'm done rearranging my harddrive - It will likely take a week to impliment, maybe less just depends because there's other things I need to give attention too aswell... Update: Exams have ended! Yes and I have passed them all. Right now I am retaliating and performing maintanence features to ensure the most up to date grid parcel photos are displayed. I will begin answering requests after #1 I complete a finale E/W Connector Tribute Video #2 I impliment the MIS to both The E/W Connector / Lantia Pkwy and The Tollway #3 I complete a new sign request for all of Newarks Freeways, Atlantic drive included #4 I update the Grids and Parcels Photo's #5 I impliment the system that will allow you to watch your development at a cost... I'll still of course be watching discusions and requests but I do need to keep things up to date this way nothing gets out of hand... On the bright side of thing, My college load got slightly lighter so I might gain alittle more time to give Newark attention... -

Zarp - Read up in my previouse update. You'll have to pay to further see your development from here onward after I post the first two updates of it... And it will be available for you to see on the Blue Hope CJ website updated bi-monthly... Costs 100 Points per month.. ...otherwise it will be available for free in the Parcels / Grids sections whenever I can update them - Reason this system was implimented was because it is becoming difficult keeping up with multiple developments and posting them on demand while keeping up with new developments and real life aswell... ...this so to speak, limits and organises it so I can keep things within a managable level. I'll get you your total points in an upcoming points update... rocketoink - The rules were implimented because the Auringy Affect... Cluttered Dense Zoning, Small rural roads... you get the idea... Also while dense biuldings can be present in rural areas, they are typically further spread out... and No problem... I'll show your development soon - This will be your final free photo of Defectia when I do. -
Can I Run SC4 on a Dual Boot with BOTH Operating Systems???
Need4Camaro posted a topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
I only want to install the program on one drive, I have Windows Vista (where its currently installed C:\), Windows XP (My new O.S. I just recently Installed D:\) and a Data Drive.. (F:\) If I deleted it on Vista and installed it on F:\ and then went to Windows XP and reinstalled it in its same location on the F:\, would I beable to run SC4 from both operating systems? or is there a better way to do this? ALSO where will it look for its plugins? -
Incredible tour you have. I really enjoy how you show the traffic signal structures. I would vouture to say that the road shown here could use a bit more consistancy as far as traffic signals go but nice! ESPECIALLY your shopping malls! I could only dream to make strip centers like that. I would cave and just biuld everywere... ...I'm not very environmentally friendly...

Yoshiisland - First off, Great job... As for the lighting though you forgot the lamp girder assembly that went below the sign itself (otherwise where would the light be coming from?) If you can eliminate the lighting on the sides that would be great but if you can't then thats fine... One small request on that sign post... ...Can you make the Vertical Posts (only the ones that go straight up and down, from the ground to the sign mount) SLIGHTLY thicker... The engineering design BETWEEN the front and rear vertical posts can remain the same size (the ones that zigzag their way up the vertical post) Edit: Crap, is the lamp girder there? I think I see it, can you give us a more zoomed in photo? Sorry to sound so demanding -

Yoshiisland - Nice job, it reminds me of something out of Texas... You might need to make the 101 larger as when you shrink it down to sign standards, it's going to be pretty small... -

kj3400 - Everything in Newark is for the grabs... Yoshiisland - Wow... just wow - purely awsome... looks lifelike... Don't forget the Lamp Girders that go below the sign post that hold the lamps but otherwise amazing I need give you some more requests... ...Like street lamps, traffic lamps and better (aimed) High mast lighting... if you're up for it... Mr. Monorail Man - They're here in Atlanta aswell, infact it's safe to say that this design is implimented on most newer freeways... -

Almighty Nienaber - That station isn't a Diagnal Station - I wouldn't beable to use it there unless I rerouted the rails a bit but it still wouldn'y show up in that location exactly...Are you sure you want me to use it? Yoshiisland - ALL girders will be the same color (either silver or black - whichever you choose for the whole sign post to be), the color was only coding to help you see the locations on the girders better on a 2D Image... The side view will show you where the beams connect onto the sign post... As for the NWTP Emblem... ...Every sign from the 5th one down has the emblem... The white box that says NWTP... Also even though the lighting might be applied individually to each sign, make sure it isn't TOO intense (so you can still see the sign at night) and that you still make the lamp supports... -

Benedict - Crap you know what? I made that station in Linaton for the last update and forgot to post it... ...I put it on the otherside of the roadway so it would have functional parking though... ..I'll get it to you asap... kj3400 - The road on the west extends into Parcel 21 and is a rather long roadway so you'll need to tell me what part of it you want to name Johnson Blvd, if not all of it... it does cost extra ... only time it's free to name a road is if the road is strictly within your development. Yoshiisland - Great to see Tuckaway Transportation lending a helping hand, show me what Tuckaway Transportation has in mind and we will go from there... Now... For your first question... On a normal highway system, route numbers with single and double digits act as primary routes that go North, South, East or West. Odd digits typically go North and South, Evens typically go east and west... Routes with three digits act as spurs from parent highways. If the first digit on a tripple digit starts with an Odd number it's typically a spur INTO a area, whereas if it starts with an Even number it's typically a bypass AROUND a area... for example, 85 would be a parent highway, 285 would be a bypass around an area spawning from the parent highway... 385 would be a spur INTO an area spawning from the parent highway... Asside from that you're not obliged to follow those standards as NTPE will likely be seperated from the Newark Numbering System... In which meaning I dont care what you number your highways lol... For your second question... Directional Signs are the labels that tell you which way you're going... North, South, East or West... With Bypasses this can get confusing if they go in a circle because you're run into circumstances where there are actually two sections of the highway that run North and South at two different areas and they don't align... likewise East and West... ...Thus in many cases with Bypasses, they use Inner and Outer.. Inner be the portion of the highway that's closest to the city, Outer would by the portion of the highway thats furthest from the city... (Inner and Outer never change... I'll show you an image to better explain) Keep in mind that an Highway is Bi-Directional so if oneside is going North, the Otherside is going South, likewise if one side is going East, the otherside is going west... In this case... If one side of the highway in Inner, then the other must be Outer... Here's an Image showing a typical Bypass around a city and how it is labled with standard directional signs... Now with Inner / Outer signs... Notice that despite the directional change of the highway between North, South, East and West, the Inner remains Inner and Outer remains outer? this is to prevent confusion of the direction of the Highway.... ..Keep in mind that Inner / Outer signs are typically only usefull on bypasses and they're still relatively rare to begin with... Now I have a request for you... ____________________________ Yoshiisland, I have compiled a request, I HIGHLY ADVISE you pay attention to detail because it will be critical... This Request will consist of you doing the following Creating a new standard sign post for freeways... Completing a sign request using this sign post... Activating Night Lighting - Lighting will be originated from the Sign Post - not the actual sign... There will be diagnals! REPLACE ALL SHIELDS WITH NWTP WITH YOU -

haljackey - Thank you! You just wait till you show me how to use the MIS ... AceofSpades - I keep forgetting to check the demand but last I glance I believe Industrial still has the Highest Demand... politicman - Thank you! Benedict - Well, some portions of your railline are becoming overcrowded and need to be addressed... but thats not why I'm auditing... I'm just doing it to update your passengers and thus by doing so gives you more income... Almighty Nienaber - Yikes there was a mistake ...Originally the tower costed 170... You paid 10 Points down I believe which brought the tower to 160... Minus the 35.7 Points you had left after Gretna means you owe 124.3 Points... Your first payment will beable to cover that with relative ease and still leave you with change... __________________________________________ I completely forgot a few things... #1 Be sure to sign up for the Newark Grande Tour.. 50 Points per development and you'll be on video... #2 Highway 25 has been completed and opened for traffic. Highway 2's upgrades are also complete... This image is clickable!!! In the Millidgeville Area, Highway 25 would be the second longest Divided Highway In Newark, topped only by Highway 4 (E/W Connector, Lantia Parkway) It is an At-Grade Route which serves East Auringy City / Millidgeville all the way to Fireplace...The route was biult cutting through farm lands which may eventually evolve into residential subdivisions thanks to the new high capacity highway... This Route uses some fancy design features, lets have a look... Just North of the Interchange with Highway 25 and the East West Connector, this section just opened... Winding through the farmlands in Millidgeville proceeding North... Breaking the farmland threshold as it enters the forests... Just East of Zarps Farming Plantation now... Continueing Northbound, Crossing the River Road... we prepare to cross the Oconee River... Bridge over the Oconee... Approaching the Opposing Shore just Southeast of Turner Station (Shingure) where Highway 2 is collected by the new corridoor and now terminated for violating the numbering system (Highway 2 isn't allowed to proceed north and south). An Interchange was installed here rather than an At-Grade Intersection due to High Speed Traffic and concerns with traffic approaching from the bridge as a visability obstructure... Highway 2's Eastbound onramp is still permitted a route into Turner Station as it is collected after the intersection for Turner Stat -

Yoshiisland - Very well... ... I'm going to be requesting some signs for a new Junction shortly... I also have some information regarding lilmanjs's railline... Also the expansion of the Tollway has caused it to no longer be a offspring of Highway 2, meaning 202/A2 now violates the numbering system... The Tollway will need to be completely re-signed (this was going to happen anyway as I have to impliment the MIS and change some exits...) With this, under Newark Turnpike Enterprise you may form your own Shield and Route number for the cooridoor aswell as choose how you want the directional signs to read (north, south, east, west, Inner, Outer, Loop,...ect) During my intermission, I recommend you plan... Here's an Image for Tuckaway Transportation to plan the rail line, This is the SSRL as close to Tuckaway as it comes... If you start a GLR you might want to offer a connecting station here to give commuters an option to use the SSRL to get too and from Newark and Lantia... chriss - As for your railway, It will cost 8 Points to purchase those homes and get rid of them... Normally it would cost 74 Points to biuld that portion of railway along with the stations but the city is willing to pay for %25 of the costs, meaning it will cost 55.5 Points... Would you like me to destroy those homes for clearance for the railway? _____________________________________________ !~MAKE SURE YOU READ~! ~!FINAL UPDATE BEFORE FINAL EXAMS!~ My Final Exams are this week and require my utmost attention. I am going to deliver you guys an Update before I get busy. Also, during my Update intermission I am going to update the grids/parcels and complete the section allowing to access all and the most up to date photos... These photo's will also now show what land is owned to reduce confusion.... I am then going to prepare another story update to continue to flow of the progression in Newark so we don't become to enveloped in the development. With that, Newark is a step closer to becoming the 51st state of the U.S.A... Also during this intermission... ...I am going to rearrange the Start Page of this CJ to make it easier to navigate, aswell as rearrange the videos to make them easier to download. I'm also going to update the Points system, things are going by a TAD to easy, but I'm glad that this method works... I am going to impliment an economy system which fluctuates with Newarks Economy, meaning your QUOTES (not finished development) can be cheaper at times than others... If Newark is in a depression, you might exprerience higher prices than at others. Also I'm going to impliment a land value system meaning the closer you are to denser areas, the more expensive your development is going to be... Benedict - I during this intermission I am also going to Audit your railway and railway traffic and am going to discard your old deeds and release you a new single deed for the entire SSRL as it stands with the most up to date costs, and income... Both the SSRL and Oconee Express will be Audited... I'm also going to create a strategy guide on how to start off and impliment the most resourceful developments and how to see it through... Also - IMPORTANT - For those of you who would like to keep track of the status of your development and have already recieved two photo updates showing your developments current state or more - You will have to pay 100 Points per month to continue this feature... This will reserve you a space on the Blu -

Almighty Nienaber - Very well I'll be starting on that, Im going to try to have it posted ASAP but there's still things I've gatta take care of, keep the faith everything will come in time... rocketoink - No problem kj3400 - lol okay, I'm glad you liked it... For a New Freeway, there's several ways you can go about it.. For one Freeway's arn't cheap - 202 Costed Tuckaway Transportation over 1,000 Points and barely makes them profit but thats because the toll system implimented was expensive... (I need to audit it and update their account) ...But... you begin with 30 point so you can... #1 Use your points to start a relatively short stretch of highway but it won't go far at all... #2 Use your points to create a development(s) which will in turn help you make points so you can have constant income to biuld your highway at sections at a time... #3 Ask Iamihop11 for a loan and make arrangements to pay him back but he's been kind of silently lately... #4 Ask if you can join Tuckaway Transportation and propose a route... Also make sure you do alittle research before plopping down pavement, make sure there's a need for a freeway, biuld a freeway that would help the community, or extend someplace that there doesn't exist one that could help commuters... And finally... you can use any map or grid photo to plan it... -
Real Highway (RHW) - Development and Support
Need4Camaro replied to qurlix's topic in NAM & Transit Networks
Originally posted by: SamuraiClinton Whenever I try to get a long-distance rural highway to go to another township, the traffic never makes it through with an RH4 connection. Therefore I have to resort to using a short stretch of the original highway that maxis made for the game. I know it ruins the aesthetic consistency :-(, but I want somebody to fix that soon! Also, I want the modular interchanges to have overpasses soon; that way I can make trumpet junctions with an RH4; one example of a real life trumpet junction with one-lane parts is I-75 where the US-23 concurrenty splits off near Standish.quote> For your first question, I believe they've already discussed that it was impossible - or if not it would be extremely difficult to implement. Here's why... Neighborhood borders, sims see them as "Jobs" now for a Job to function it has to have a way "too" a path that GETS them there ... and a way "from" a path that gets them back home... RHW only register's as a way "too" which is why freight trucks can use them. But because The RHW is actually two seperate tiles, they act like one way roads and the simulator doesn't see the other halve of the RHW as the same highway, just as a seperate road and thus instead the simulator believs that there is no way to get sims back home, and thus why they don't make good neighbor connections.. Here's what you do to defeat that... at the very end of the RHW before it jumps to the next neighbor, convert it to a Avenue... Avenue's act as a single road and can provide a way too and from and is the closest thing to the continuety of a RHW... Since the neighborhood connection only acts as a job, the speed between it and a ground highway will be negligible to non-existant.... I personally would like to see something done in which can accomidate RHW's that are divided for up to 4 tiles but as of now the only way is to convert... Your second question.... I live near both I-75 and U.S. 23 in Atlanta... Just thought I'd share...- 3,919 Replies

I'll help you with the costs throughout that route... ________________________________________________ Tuckaway Transportation - #1 - I'm awaiting the rail line proposal for Tuckaway, is it going to be heavy or light rail? #2 - I'd like to know if Tuckaway Transportation would be interested in starting a "Newark Turnpike Enterprise" Basically the system will control all tollroads owned and maintained by Tuckaway Transportation. With this you will be given the ability to sign your tollroads whatever you wish (aswell as make your own shield), and beable to propose new tollroads and extensions... -

Mr. Monorail Man - Yeah but I was lucky and a friend lended me quite a bit of webspace, if I could move all the parcel / grid photo's to photobucket in the future I could probably host 6 videos at a given time, the rest will be compiled into video packages and hosted on an alternate server in zip files... Almighty Nienaber - Thats kind of large, also some of that is already owned... Won't be cheap either... - Highway 2 has been widened through downtown so that is still and out of date photo.. Here let me make you an up to date photo showing whats currently owned and what you can purchase... Mr. Monorail Man - I've thought about that but most of Blue Hope CJ's videos FAR exceed Youtube's limits... 100mb's and 10 mnutes both were surpassed in the StoryUpdate 4... lilmanjs - Edit: Just saw your post - I wouldn't mind at all. Passenger purposes only or freight and passenger? Where will it originate? I would... recommend starting a GRL for prototype purposes - Make sure it interlinks with the Heavy Rail Lines - that way in the future Tuckaway Transportation can possibaly host a Light Rail Service... ...just some ideas.. ...Also was Tuckaway Transportation going to extend the Tollway to Auringy City via the proposed route?
