  2. Skyscraper City

they also have a sim city section with some good CJs

Actually, that third picture caught my eye as well... the way you have it set back from the avenue kind of reminds me of the Supreme Court of Canada (although the building itself looks a bit more like the National Archives building, IMO). quote> you got it! I'm actually surpirsed anything grew there at all, considering all the transit I needed to make it work. Darn thing probably costs me money to keep it alive. oh well. I like your city as well, its realistic, and still very good looking at the same time.
  4. underpass road and avenue

I also could not download the file. Too bad, this looked very useful.
  5. Show us your City's Details/Close-ups!

Hey guys Here's some closeups from my city Diomira, might end up turning into a CJ if I ever get finished. First is my downtown pedestrian market area, inspired by Ottawa, Canada, The city hall is bottom right, and the courthouse is bottom left. (seems I forgot to crop some of the menu): City Hall: Courthouse: And my mayor's house on a secluded hill somewhere else:
  6. night light problem

update your game, someone will come after me with a link, im sure.
  7. The Thinker

its really good, I put it in my city already. but how about a version that matches park grass colour? the grass on some of your statues are a bit lighter.
  8. The worst building in the world

I would tolerate it without all the fences, road barriers, spikes, security outposts, cameras, and bomb proof windows. Oh well thanks for the apology, at least we have three great museums in the area to make up for it.
  9. That happens to me frequesntly when I place new zones. I believe it is just the computer trying to figure out the transportation routes.
  10. The worst building in the world

The American Embassy in Ottawa Canada. Yuck. No offence to Americans, but this is not a nice embassy. The building itself is just... meh... not very nice, but not hideous either... Looks like a prison. What is hideous is those stupid "temporary" baricades around it that have been there since slightly after 9/11. I can't recall if they are less ugly now, but they are still there in some form, blocking a whole lane of traffic on the two main roads that go past this monstrosity on either side.quote> I agree with this one! I pass by that building a lot, the thing's a fortress! any building that actually makes you feel uneasy when you walk past it probably isn't very good.
  11. 1984 The Ministry of Peace

I always imagined them as white, it would probably look a lot better.
  12. BSC Raised Park Monorail to Bus Transfer Station

whats the capacity? i'm looking for some high capacity monorail stations (10000+)
  13. Do I really need these?

I use the no fires and riots mod, I started to get really sick of that stuff after being interrupted from my important work to send 12 firetrucks to one tiny little fire. These are generally the last thing I'll consider for an area, after education, health and police anyways. I imagine however that fire coverage would have some impact on desirability, although I don't know for sure.
  14. So, how do you feel about Toronto?

Ottawa's better (coming from someone who used to live near toronto)
  15. Disability & Accessibility

ramps are really hard to design around due to their size. Sometimes the author will choose not to in order to make a better looking building, I'm sure they mean to offence to those with disabilities.
  16. How to get money?

place a power plant, then zone some industrial, some commercial and some residential. Connect them with roads and tur the game on. You can make millions this way.
  17. Bahrain WTC

    pure hotness!
  18. Hmmmm question??

make sure you install the extra plugins that come with nam but are not checked off by default during the installation. Delete your nam folder and run the installer again, look at every option there is, there should be one for diagonal streets and some for roundabouts.
  19. if you say so, I'd have no idea, ive never been there. perhaps it can accomodate more trains though? the first picture you showed only has 2 tracks if its still 2 tracks, then I wouldn't be able to tell you why they would have done it.
  20. I'll bet it has a higher capacity than the old one. Sometimes nostalgia just isnt practical, people.
  21. An issue with commuters

maybe your subway is overcrowed? give them busses or some form of light rail as well maybe?
  22. City Requirements/Rant Problem.

it can be hard, I actually had this problem yesterday and think I solved it reasonably well (pretty much everything has already been said, but I'll reiterate) Raise taxes on dirty industry (I raised all but high tech to 20%). Redo your trasportation network in your industrial area so it is top notch! have a city tile next to your main one where dirtier industries can go (and actually go there and grow them after you make the switch). Keep dirty power plants and garbage facilites away from your soon to be high tech area. Plant lots of trees (a few thousand worth) to get rid of the pollution that is there already. Demolish all of your polluting industry, and keep demolishing it if it does grow back (although the taxes should cover that). That took me a few tries, I got into a couple of recessions because of it, but eventually I did everything right and my city is making more money than ever!
  23. To fill or not to fill R$ demand?

how can you go about making them move to a specific spot while still providing equal coverage in all services? any ideas?
  24. 911 building

how much does it cost per month and to plop?
  25. a bit flat for my tastes
