It's not a yin yang, it's the 3ds MAX logo:

You need to go into your plugins folder and actually delete all the old NAM files yourself. Installing the new one over top of the old one did not work for me. I had to remove the old one myself before installing the new one.

Question: How do you make a Roundabout?
Skyfire2275 replied to CowboySean's topic in NAM & Transit Networks
Also, when you install the name, make sure you install the roundabout option.... I don't think it is installed by default. -

Sounds like a good idea to me too! Who knows maybe someone has some interesting new speculation to add... since that is all we have at the moment... speculation.

Happy Canada Day to all the Canadians out there! (and anyone else, I guess )
-
*MEGA BUMP* Well, it is that time again, and instead of starting a new topic, I will bump the old one. And, zelgadis, it looks like yo uare one year closer. :noise: Happy Canada Day (July 1st) to all the Canadians out there! (and anyone else, I guess ) I know it's not July 1st yet, but I don't know if I will have time to come online tomorrow. For those of you who don't know Canada is the home country of Sporeum and Simtropolis (and many of it's members). It is the day that our country was created in 1867... making Canada 140 years old this year. Although all the land that it now contains wasn't there until 1949 (when Newfoundland joined). For all he americans out there, July 1st is pretty much the same as July 4th down there, but from what I know based on TV and movies, we don't celebrate quite as much.

Originally posted by: SimFox No guys, I guess I didn’t explain it right! The final render product of which you see on those shots was completed in 309 minutes that is 5 hours 9 minutes. When I said 80 hours that was more or less total time I spend test rendering it over last week. You don't really think that this just come out swimmingly on its own, do you? Without those 80 hours of tests the final render would have been about 20 hours instead of 5. Plus there were quite a few problems to solve and trick to think of... quote> Wow, only 5 hours! The Cheung Kong Centre I made literally took 80 hours to export... And I never tested it... -

Oh wow, that game looks good atleast... pretty realistic. I will reserve judgement until I hear more about the gameplay (particularly transit options and customizability... the latter I don't tihnk will be a problem). But the first screenshots make me much more optimistic that the first few SCS screenshots. I hope this game turns out to be good... and a good replacement for the SC5 that we will never get.

Thanks for letting us know that you are aware of the problem and are working on it. It is much appreciated, as is your hard work maintaining this site. Thanks!

I've had the same problem recently. I had try try to download the NAM about 7 times before I finally got the whole thing. It is happening with anything over 1 Mb for me. Never happened until a week or two ago.

Looking at those polls paints a very pessimistic picture.

Is it Possible or Have we Reached The End?
Skyfire2275 replied to spoty101's topic in City-Building Games
Well the most obvious improvement to me is to get rid of the grid and let us make streets/roads/etc... and buildings at any angle. A second, related, improvement is a total reworking of the transportation network and how it works to allow us to create many intersection configurations, highway interchanges, bridges with stuff underneath, tunnels and bridges at any angle, etc. A third would be to have water that wasn't just at sea level, ie: ability to create waterfalls, etc... Another nice one would be snow and snow removal which is a big part of running a city in northern climates. And of course the flooding that comes with it every spring. And weather to some extent at least. It would also be nice to have even more control over what gets built in zoned land... and fix that stupid "make historical" option that DOES NOT work. And there is a ton more stuff that probably isn't worth typing out. -
