Sim City 5 Rumors!

I know its a bit old, but I know their are a ton of people coo-coo for SC5,

I also know that this is a controversial topic, even if they do come out with a SC5,

its probably not gonna be from maxis or EA.

If SC5 ever comes out;

I hope it turns out they have been working on it for several years instead of rushing it out just to make money.

If SC5 comes out I dont know if I would play it because I've put so much time consuming work into SC4. If it does it would be cool to make a way to transfer data from SC4. Maybe 5 could be like an addon. Then I would get it

yarahi hate to break it to you but this is EA we are talking about. They never work to make a game. All their games are rushed just to make moeny.

we as a community could and should once and for all focus on getting EA to listen, or once and for all stop talking about it. you would be amazed how much noise we could make, and how much influence we could have but we have to do it properly.

i for one would love a new SC game, but it has to be done right. i actually think we will get a new one eventually... but we must unite and make some noise to the creators if we want it to be how we want it.

There is nothing we can do to get EA to listen. Yes these are large communities...with a lot of dormant members, just because ST has 400,000 plus members doesn't mean we'd have 400,000 people fighting EA. Besides I work for a VERY large corporation (not giving you the name), we do business with EA (a lot of business), they won't budge no matter the pressure, unless there is money involved. Seriously if there was anything the community could do, it would be done. Forget SC5 folks, if Societies was a preview of whats to come, I won't be giving my money to EA.

i think they wouldve came out with it already. Its been 8 years since simcity 4 so i think if there was goin to be a sim5 it wouldve been out years ago. thats just my opinion lthough i do hope they come out with it

You guys suck, who say SC5 shouldn't come out. The NAM is far too complicated to use imo, and about the custom content......well just START over. Wouldn't be that bad. EA would just have to make it where you can transfer all of your content from SC4 into SC5. It SHOULD come out, and it most likely will soon enough. Duke Nukem Forever took 15 years, and that still came out. So there's still hope...

Well, I'm hoping they allow NAM if there ever will be a SC5. If they don't, I just might use Sim City 4 with all my add-ons.

i think this community should get together and make there own simulated city. one that's web based and every one can build in different area can create a sim-world!!

@Supreme ricin 3: It has been attempted so many times, yet most of the features were primitive to what we have developed over the years. I think I'm content with SC4. Sure it would be nice to have another real Simcity.

instead of making sc5 why not make a new expansion for sc4?

i dont want to start a completely new game

also people like me would've never thought there would be another duke nukem...

but then i was almost screaming in anticipation when it was announced.... lets just wait an see what EA's next move is gonna be (it will most likely be a stupid one)

@ Xyloxadoria: Just the reason why I'm skeptical to the whole idea of SC5 in the first place.. It's not like there is an end to SC4 anyways as long as you are creative...

There is something you can do to make EA listen. And it is very simple don't buy EA games. If people stop buying EA games they will soon get the message. Money talks when it comes to EA.

What always amaze me here on this forum was how many people purchased SCS. And at the same time they were supporting the money grabbing EA. EA don't listen to people and this was very evident when the Tilted Mill forums were swamped with complaints about SCS. TM did listen but they couldn't do anything because they were making the game for EA. EA had the chance to cancel SCS when people were complaining about SCS on TM forums but they didn't. As a result for EA not listening the game was a flop. Folks money only talks with EA nothing else matters.

I think EA did a bad job with latest simcity. It was supposed to be Simcity 5 but they ended up changing the name. To that sim society. I looked at the screen shots and was like wow... they must of hired 3rd graders to make the graphics of the game. I think the graphics is too childish... missed the realism of the artwork that simcity 4 brought to the table. I wish they do make a Simcity 5. is they do they better focus on seasons and more realistic weather patterns. A city must feel more real. Must have to deal with many different kinds of weather issues... just like how real cities in the real world has to deal with. They should also try and use some real economics theory and create some economics simulation within the city. If they do all this I would pay for the game... better then that I would pre-order the game. I never do pre-order any games in the past. I am a hard-core simplicity fan but that latest release was a big disappointment. Even if they just have Simicity 5 focus 1005 just on weather and seasons and they don't add anything else. That would make me happy.

It was a total different game aimed at a total different market which was for the people who played the sims. EA thought there was mega bucks to be made from this market but it backfired on them badly and the game was a flop. The people who played the sims weren't interested in a building sim.

As for TM it wasn't there fault that game wasn't very good. They were told by EA how to make the game. TM do make very good games. But SCS was made to EA specifications.

You know, I've been thinking about this for a while now, and I kind of realized something. I understand that there are a few files in the Sim City Societies game that are named SC5. I don't know this first hand as I have not dug through the files. But that said, what if EA realized that Sim City Societies was not going to live up to a Sim City 5 billing, and ended up naming Societies instead? Leaving the door open to a SC5 billing down the line, a few million miles at this point...

After all the time that has passed, and there still is a vested interest in it, maybe they realize that they CAN make some money with it, and are finally going to make it. They did after all buy the names for a number of Sim city addresses. So they must have, at some point, anticipated making another title in the franchise.

If they do make it, and I hope they DO, that they make use of some of the talent on simtropolis. There is a lot of talent here for sure.
