[RUMOR] SimCity To Be Facebook Game

Im suprised simcity hasn't died.... its been stabbed in the back, shot in the face and kicked to the ground that many times and its still "walking"

^ It shows how good the Simcity concept is...personally I can't envisage this facebook version working well either but will we have to see (crosses fingers in hope)...

I prefer optimism. Give EA a chance. They made SC4 (granted under different leadership), so they can make a good game for Facebook. I never play Facebook games, even though I use the Book all the time, but I may look into this. We'll just have to wait and see. Either way, SC5 is long overdue.

I am not surprised reading the article and this is a pure disgrace! The games on facebook gets boring after a while but Simcity in facebook?! ...Ladies and Gents lets all prepare for the worst!

What bugs me about this thread isn't that SimCity MAY be making an appearance as a fb game. It bugs me that all the people saying "we want a real SimCity 5" are being so petulant about it - EA have proved time and time again that if there is a commercial market for a game they will sell it. They don't owe anyone (except their shareholders) anything. They exist to sell a commercial product - that's it. The SimCity 5 we all dream of is everything but commercial.

Why not. I suspect if they do, it may just be a hack of Micropolis, the publicly released SC1 version. At best for facebook, SC3000 would be nice. I don't think people on Facebook would want the depth of SC4.

I doubt a Facebook game will have any depth. In CityVille, the only things to worry about were to have enough friends to help with collecting items needed to finish the quests and staffing up the community buildings. Your only expenses are related to constructing new buildings. So no, I'm not looking forward to another Facebook city game. I'm pretty content with Cityville and SimCity 4.

i cant stand anymore of this stupid failures to revive the series. lets face it, unless maxis can make a miracle, the series might as well be buried 6 feet under. it just upsets me on how trashy everything is now, with the sim city societies, and sim city creator. good god, creator. there are hardly any objectives or realism, its just trash. i swear, if the new simcity facebook game is in the original simcity 3000 format, im not playing it.

I think it would be great to have SIMCITY browser based. The future of gaming is always changing and that's where the technology is going in gaming.
