This is a region view of Vista Del Mar in its entirety. It presently is divided into 6 districts: Central, Kennedy Bay to the southeast, Oswander to the south, McNell to the north, Montclaire to the southwest and Richmond Heights directly to the west. Current mayor is Daniel Williamson, son of the founding mayor Patricia Williamson that served many moons ago and set the tempo for the city moving forward. Current population is approximately 505,000. In the next entry I will begin to work my way around each...

Oswander district: to the south of the central city area. First annexed under the administration of mayor Paul Cosgrove. Mayor Cosgrove approved the vision for the area presented to him by regional development titans: Bellenero Dev. LLC. Thus, the area was opened up with the extension of the Vista Highway as well as access roads to the Finger Lakes. While the central city of Vista Del Mar contained neighborhoods of high wealth residents, this area was the tapped to be the first exclusively high wealth...

It has been some time since I last posted an entry on this journal. Since then I have been spending my time deciding which direction I want to take this city and my SC4 work in general, beginning such work, and sorting out very significant game bug while doing so. Nevertheless, we were reaching the finale of this city anyway and I have decided to appropriately make this the last entry for this series. I have much more work to share with the community under a new title for my city journal: "Gviper...

Hello Everyone! Thank you for the comments on my previous entry! I hope all are well... For this entry I reached back into the archives of a work I began but never (and likely won't) finish. Though it won't ever see completion, I wanted to share with the community what I had done. It was a Riviera-esque inspired theme and contained a fair amount of lot editing. Here it is: ORIGINALLY ENVISIONED BOARDWALK/HARBOR GREENWAY... EAST END OF GREENWAY.... ...

Well, this is an entry that documents a development first for the city and a dilemma for me the creator. Though I am not sure I have resolved the problem entirely (time will tell) I think at least part of the game clock bug that struck my core city was related to getting greedy with my plugins folder. I recently decided I wanted to add a custom airport to my city and shortly thereafter KAABLAMM! Bugs galore, crashes to desktop. I restored everything from a recent backup, but unfortunately this high-tech...

Richmond Heights district of Vista Del Mar The citizens of Vista Del Mar can't wait for the long dreery days of winter to give way to the sun-filled ocean breeze majesties of spring and summer. When this long-awaited for time comes, they know exactly where to go! The resorts, sights and shops of Richmond Heights! After navigating the chaotic and congested Del Mar highway headed west out of the central city, sparkling blue waters, emerald hills await eager citizens. First opened for development during the...

Well, inspired by Mymyjp and the desire to incorporate a custom airport into Vista Del Mar (since I had to keep the default to maintain adequate commercial demand) this is the airport I constructed to serve the international market. But, the addition of so much content absolutely wreaked havoc on my game and really disrupted playability so I had to remove it. Nonetheless here is what was Vista Del Mar-Legacy International Airport. ***Sneak peek is at the end*** Operations near terminal... Commercial and...

Wealthy golf-loving Del Marans are really having a tough time keeping the drool off their professionally tailored suits and their tongues in their mouths. Development of Carlton Country Club & Estates is roaring right along. Construction has been completed on the clubhouse, featuring a four-star lounge and dinner house. All the new hires have arrived today for orientation and training such as the ornate folding of toilet paper, the art of sucking up to club members for big tips, and valet stunt parking...

After countless man-hours of dirt moving, brick-laying, porta potty using, and soggy sandwich for lunch eating, the contractors and construction workers have finished Carlton Country Club & Estates, a new 9-hole professional course nestled along First Finger Lake in the Oswander District of Vista Del Mar. Mayor Williamson cut the ribbon officially opening the course to resident owners---and for a higher fee---the general public as well. Executives at Monticello Dev. LLC are savoring the bounty of cash...

After nearly a year of cutting through the red tape, legal wrangling, illegal schmoozing, slush fund depositing, and other devious, high-level chicanery, Monticello Development Partners LLC, received final approval from mayor Daniel Williamson for the construction of a golf course and accompanying lots for homes along the prime land skirting the shores of First Finger Lake. Perhaps the mayor is eying one of the homes that will be built as a place to retreat once his term in office is over. Initial stages...

And Simcity 4 creators and players thought that Jenquai merely specialized in alchemy! NO WAY! This entry presents the massive urban aqueduct they built to serve the city of Edison Shores with water and wastewater treatment all while functioning as a park and development space. As always thanks for the comments and I hope you enjoy this piece I've had in my files for a while... A barometer of economic activity in the growing city and these guys and gals will be running around the clock to serve the industries of Sim Nation. And YES, there is pollution man, cuz this is a gritty, dirty, bustling port! Hope you enjoy! PGA comes to town!

Thank you for the gracious comments on my previous journal!!! This entry follows upon the teaser I posted two journals ago. Pebble Creek Country Club has been completed and is now playing host to a regional PGA tournament for its inauguration. Note: some graphical glitches may be visible, this is due to the overlapping of rocks necessary to complete the landscaping idea. Let's take a look at the tournament! The tournament commences at the club house as players tee off... Here we are looking at the...

It's a short entry but this is a project called Pebble Creek Country Club. I am in the process of beginning the landscaping and have quite a bit of work left to do. Going to try to incorporate some estates within the club so the full entry will probably be for a journal entry some time down the road. Nonetheless I hope folks enjoy the peak inside. The mayor of Vista Del Mar is already calling for tee times! There will be none of this... when the course is finished!!!

Well, he new mayor must have arrived with margaritas, sun and swanky up-scale modern loft apartment living because the newly minted Vista Del Mar districts are all about sun, beaches and glass and steel. The city transportation department has been robustly funded to operate the city's first commuter rail line: Vista Del Mar Rapid Railz. Enough of the story, here are the pictures: The core area of Capistrano Beach complete with beach houses, mid-rise lofts, hotels and businesses... Proximity to the...

Well a new mayoral administration for Vista Del Mar and with it a bevy of new development. Well, it's been a long time...I've been working primarily on my city Capistrano...of which now several versions exist. My large-scale projects have largely ceased. These images represent a variety of "flavors" from past work and the first version of Capistrano's CBD. Thank you to all those who graciously commented on the previous entry. Hope you enjoy! The following picture represents the ONLY time I tried out Dark Night. In fact, this is the only image using it I have. The city is an old one called...

Vista Del Mar Presents: Monkey See Park and a new citywide picture... An updated shot of the entire city of Vista Del Mar. I kicked out the beach mod and have been slowly working on adjusting the flavor of the beach and vegetation. Monkey See Park Anyone who has followed my work thus far knows I like parks. So, this one started out with no direction whatsoever. After completing it (just some minor vegitation work remains) I noticed it looked a bit like the face of a monkey! Any resemblance? Hmmm...the...

Having spent a lot of time developing through city development Vista Del Mar, I have reached many of the dreams I had since returning to SC4; I attained the dream CBD I always wanted, and have a fairly large city. So, I have become interested in spending more of my time developing artistic work using the tools graciously provided by content creators and the game more so than laying down new city buildings. This work is one of the many pieces I have that I'd like to share. The concept was simply inspired by...

Please Read:My city journal has been retitled as I move out of featuring my city Vista Del Mar and move toward showcasing side projects, artwork that I am trying to produce with Simcity 4, and a few other urban areas in the region. I still have a few pics of Vista Del Mar to feature in the gallery or on an entry here. I'm trying to really push the boundaries of the game and produce some artwork for the visually-minded folks of the community to enjoy,Gviper With that in mind here's one of the projects in...
