Chapter 2| Update 9: Searching in the Right Direction

The Next Day...

The chopper hung low to the ground under the cloudy skies, the rain having stopped just a little bit ago. Inside the chopper, 6 Follomer Special Forces sat fully loaded with gear.

Their mission given by the Chancellor himself was a Search and Recon Op, drop into potentially hostile territory and scout the land for any signs of enemy concentration, and report back to base.

The chopper found the LZ and dropped to within twenty feet of the ground, and then ropes dropped. Just as fluidly as they had practiced day in and day out, each of the six men repelled down the ropes onto the soft, wet grass of the woods. As the first landed, got his weapon up and scanned the area, his rifle's green laser sight turned on. The others followed suit quickly till all six were on the ground. The chopper then took off and got out of dodge.
Chopper Pilot: Hammerhead clear, good hunting.
The commander on the ground looked up and put his hand over his ear.
Commander Winters: Thank's for the ride Hammerhead.
Winters took his rifle in both hands and then hunched down low, signalling to his two teams to follow him.

Ahead was a small stream which across turned into a hill. Trees lined the right and left flanks so Winters just had his men and women go up the middle, scanning the trees for anything. Inside Winter's earpiece, Captain Trellian spoke to him from the OMI building in the capital where they set up the command center.
Trellian: Alright, youre coming up on the area where our Spy Satellites couldn't get a clear focus to really see anything, and that's a bad thing because our satellites should be able to see everything. Oh, and don't mention to anyone that we have Spy Satellites.
Winter's chuckled under his breath and kept scanning the area as he and his team crossed the stream.

Commander Winters: My lips are shut sir.
Trellian: Good, now over this next hill, you should be able to get a good look out over a valley where the center of our satellite disruption is. Locate and Recon the area, over.
Commander Winters: Roger, moving into position.
Winters stopped on his knee and so did everyone else, all eyes on him. Winters look toward the two on his right, pointed at them with two fingers and then made a direct gesture with his hand toward a pile of boulders. Doing the same thing with another couple, he then turned to the trooper behind him who was close enough to speak to.
Commander Winters: Devern, you're with me, move it.
Soldier: Yessir, on it.
Winters stood by as he watched the muscular woman fluidly manuever across the grass and brush toward the peak of the hill, which was lined with rocks and boulders. Beyond that was the valley.

Commander Winters: Shadow to OMI base, we've got contact. Lot's of contact.
Trellian: Say that again Shadow? You're breaking up.
Commander Winters: I say again, we've made contact. Some sort of militant camp, and they have some heavy gear, over.
Trellian: Sha...team we're lo...ou're sig...
Winter's tapped his headpiece but grunted when it only made it worse. Then he turned to Devern who looked back at him, crouched on the ground low.
Commander Winters: Get back to the LZ and try to radio in there. Call for back-up, go!
