CENTRAL CORE
An evening in Oka (2/2)

_____

Image
19:00 - Our second night out in Oka will bring us to the central core of Oka to enjoy some good time out Ever since it won Cultural Capital of AIN, there has been lot's of special events in town recently

_____

Image
19:30 - I'm bringing you to Korin Street, where chef Tezuka Konoye is specialised in Okataian Food, you'll be trying some typical dishes

_____

Image
21:45 - There are so many streets to choose from, let me bring you to my favorite bar,

_____

Image
22:00 - Have your drink mixed by some of Oka's true bartending greats

Radio Bar is quite unlike any other watering hole in the central core. Bartender Koji Ozaki has been in the business for over four decades and is an attraction all for himself: prepare for painstakingly prepared mixtures, best enjoyed quietly at the counter with the glass – and the master’s words – capturing your entire focus.

Image
23:30 - Kouko Cocktail is one of the most unique bars. Just beside the train station – consider picking a seat by the windows on the north side and gaze out over Oka's most active train station

_____

Image
01:20 - Tonight you'll be staying at the Imperial Oishi Hotel, a Five star venue built back when Oishi Island was owned by the British

_____

I see you do really like to put a little more of a story into your journal postings - the inclusion of the interior pics, the real-world locations and explanations - I find that all of sudden you are not looking at textures, roads, and buildings from what is essentially a game but rather a glimpse of what our great cities of the world are really about.

Now in the time of Instagram people seem much less inclined to care about the story that goes with the images they are seeing.  I really like to write though and I really like to be told a good story - so I really like your posting style!

BTW I really like your railway station set up - I might be mistaken but it looks like you incorporated the airport terminals?  I was thinking of this very thing although I could not figure out the platforms to be used - which apparently you have.  I would love to see a daylight picture of that scene...

That's a fantastic and very clever use of the airport pieces to create a modern railway station! I may have to 'borrow' that idea myself. Where are the concrete covered platform pieces from?

Great update overall, very nice indeed.

I seem to remember a city journal like this from days long past, by a member of the same name...  Looking through the comments there are some other names I recall from before as well.  Hey, guys.

High quality images.  I may have to go back and look at what else I seem to have missed.

Thank you Julian, yes for me the story the city tells is extremly important, it gives a soul to what you're building. I'm very happy you like it

It's a modular set using airport terminals, the Osaka airport BAT and Suoh freight station, I might make a tutorial on it :)
