Announcement: Changing the Review Standards

In the last few weeks I experimented with the graphic settings of the game, especially LUTs and shadows.

The result is the Softer Shadows mod and the Neutral Color LUT. Both will be used for asset reviews. Here are the settings and mods I want to use in the future:

Here is a direct comparison between the previous setup and the new setup:

The shadows are brighter, colours are less saturated. Unlike other LUTs, the neutral LUT does not alter the colours or the contrast.

Here are a few more pictures taken with the new setup:

What do you think?

I really like the effect of the softer shadows, I dunno about the LUt though, it does look a bit too greyish/dark for my taste.

Totally agree! I guess it could work for the review fine , though I'd prob go with the temperate/default LUT. Nice to see your settings though - makes it easier to make changes and compare :)

The thing with the temperate look is that it heavily oversaturates mid-tones.

That neutral LUT shows the real colors.

The reason I'd use the temperate LUT is because it shows the colors how they'd appear for players not using LUTs at all (The default ones are somewhat oversaturated in general). I get it makes more sense to look as the colors as they really are (and I agree), but with the neutral LUT there would likely be buildings we wouldn't desaturate, which we would change with the default LUT. But then again, the people who'd get this mod probably already use custom LUTs and the likes.

I agree with what others have said. The LUT you applied make everything a bit too greyish.

I agree that it would look better with a bit more contrast (though not more saturation), but this way we are able to see more details and the original colours that were intended by the developers.
