Actually, it is from the Free French, a coin from French Equatorial Africa. The Vichy coins say "Travail Famille Patrie" and "Etat Français" on the front. The front of this one is:

 

I specifically chose this as it is from the Free French and was issued by those who resist against evil.

Ooh, I see! I was indeed wondering why the republican French devise was minted on the coin, though the date and words "honneur" and "patrie" were also on Vichy coins

Great, my solidarity is with the french people afther last weeks horible event's ! Would love to recreate Paris myself; current project take up to much time. Wonderfull and imspiring stuff, well done !

we are but 1 race, the human race.- I posted something along this on facebook. Anyway, may we remember them as they did for us on 9/11. Such a horrific event as that that fell upon France make us all a little bit French. We stand united with France a little more. May they rest in peace.

 

A very poignant and touching tribute to one of the worlds great cities. One can only hope that the people of which can somehow find solace and respite in the times ahead.
