Restoration

Devonshire: Restoration
We continue our journey to the restored city of Schulmericho. Government officials have spared no expense in restoring the city to its former glory and expanding it beyond the original walled footprint. And, to increase security in the liberated area, a permanent army garrison and a navy base have been added to the city. Additionally, a commercial port, a restored and fortified ferry terminal and the nation’s first rail station make Schulmericho a hub for Schulminion transit.

Passengers arrive and the restored and fortified ferry terminal. The facility had a complete overhaul after being severely damaged in the siege.

The new West Gate and a new wall greet visitors
Fort Calico is the new army base built at the western edge of town near the ferry terminal. The Bureau of Feline Affairs Military stations troops here, as does the Schulmania National Military. The local police operate the guard post at the ferry terminal.

The western walls, located near the base, are largely intact
Once we venture into town, we see the walled Old Town and the newly built New Town. Each has its own character. Old town has been largely restored, but features a new commercial district by the port and some new, larger office buildings near the city center. It also features a new learning center, Blount College. New Town consists of commercial and residential areas, a port and naval base and the war memorial area.

Memorial Church continues to preside over the heart of Old Town

Though a new memorial to a new conflict sits not far to the east

Across the street from the new Siege Memorial and Battlefield Cemetery sits the Siege Museum. This majestic new edifice preserves the memory of those brave soldiers who valiantly fought off an overwhelming enemy victory. It is a testament to their courage that the museum was built. The grateful citizens of Schulmericho paid for the museum and donated many artifacts of the siege for exhibit. We will never forget the valor of our felines.

The new East Gate at the edge of New Town lends its name to the neighborhood adjacent to it

Eastgate is a trendy neighborhood of small shops and midrise homes

Commerce Park is a new office park and business incubator built near both the new commercial port and the rail line. It is hoped that the facility will bring a surge of new investment to the city.
