"We don't know exactly what's wrong..why the instruments show us losing fuels. The ship runs on compressed natural gas. We were losing, and quick. There's no way for us to open the tanks and see what we really have. We've got to trust the readings, and so we have. Now here we are. Whether by fate, God or luck, we tracked down a comet that we calculated we would have enough fuels left to reach. The ship was designed with a natural gas extraction system that unfolds out from the bottom of the ship, and drills down into an object's surface. Gases are then extracted up through the tubing and processed on-board the ship to remove impurities. The impurities exit the rear exhaust of the ship, and the compressed methane is then stored in the tanks. We needed to make a pit stop somewhere, and fast. So far everything is going as expected."
-Capt. Drake S. Eastman, U.S.S. Hubble 2
