Some shameless advertising for my latest CJ, Blue Coast. I started this Journal, like, 2 days ago, so obviously there is no development (yet):

The streets of the western suburbs of the Encounter Bay Metro area are among some of the most congested in the world. The recent widening of the main western railway line from 4 to 6 tracks has increased capacity to and from the main CBD, but has created minimal change in getting people off the roads and onto the rail system as the rail system itself is already congested, even though the average speed of rail in the city is about 50km/h compared to around 10km/h on some roads.

Recently completed was a new motorway project to relieve the congestion off part the the city's most congested motorway, the Great Western Motorway, which starts just west of the CBD and travels all the way out beyond the outer suburbs. The most congested section cuts through Longcaster and Pacifica Shires, where the Levarte Cross River Expressway joins outbound traffic.

The project, called the Longcaster Bypass, covers a distance of 4km in both of the shires and aims to redirect some traffic heading to Longcaster and Pacifica city centres from the existing Great Western Motorway to this new section. The project involves a new interchange just east of where the Levarte Cross River Expressway joins, a twin bored tunnel (each about 500m long) under an existing suburb before emerging to cross the Bay of Longcaster (about 1km long) before disappearing underground again into two more bored tunnels under Longcaster city centre (each around 1.5km long).

Images of the recently completed project:
<ahttp://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid195/p17253edff7aa9c3ffd42bfae9bfb01ff/f12fd1a7.jpg align=baseline>
The numerous motorways that pass through Longcaster. The new project starts on the left of the image in the suburb of Maddington. The existing Great Western Motorway merges and runs diagonal before running parallel with the new bypass (towards top of image).

The two interchanges in Maddington. The lower one is the interchange between the Great Western Motorway and Longcaster Bypass, while the upper one is between the Great Western Motorway and Levarte Cross River Expressway. You can see the eastern tunnel begins here.

The western end of the first set of tunnels. Originally the entire project was supposed to be underground, but the local authorities insisted on a bridge instead. The approaches on either side are built on land reclaimed for the project.

<ahttp://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid195/p481004ff740c9df08ddec116733ae2d6/f12fd1a9.jpg align=baseline>
The Longcaster CBD side of the bridge. This side also was built on reclaimed land. The second set of tunnels starts here and travels underneath the Longcaster CBD. The construction of the tunnels on this side of the river caused some problems. The rail lines kept shifting during the construction work, causing several derailments and a partial cave-in occurred directly under a major intersection in the CBD. Neither was very serious.

The other end of the tunnel. The bypass here continues north for another 2km into Pacifica Shire.

Never underestimate the power of a good embankment set, Pegs pond kit, and a few squares of open green grass. I'm impressed by the talent I see here. Good job all.

EJC, your rendition of NYC is amazing. What really wowed me is that you have the West Side Hwy and FDR drawn so accurately.

Have fun all.

Nice work everybody! I'll chip in with a couple of my own pictures from Downtown Newton, the capital and largest city of the New Boston Region. These may be out of date (as compared to each other), because they were taken at different times (this city changes a lot). Sorry in advance about the signs in the daytime one.

newtonaug618611339239082kg.jpg

This is a shot facing Marathon Bay (or West), showing how the city lights up at night (credit to Marrast and whoever made the Phath Auditorium and Neon Light Towers).

newtonsep1316811315923470is.jpg

This one, with the signs, is a closeup of the same area about twenty simyears before the previous image. It shows the central gathering spaces of the city close up. Marathon Ave. is in the middle running top to bottom, along the bay. The rest is labeled.

newtonsep1718611339239623sg.jpg

This is on the other side of Marathon Bay, showing the neighborhood of Violet as of yesterday. The highway tunnel is I-103, and the avenue on top of it is University Ave (built yesterday. Barely visable is Violet Boulevarde, using Marrast's avenue dividers.

newtondec618111318390103gf.jpg

This is just an overview of the entire Downtown Area. Violet is on the right, and the Suffolk Peninsula is on the left, with Marathon and Suffolk bays between them. Of course credit goes to everyone who contributes to the STEX (especially Superstar, Dusktrooper, and all the NDEX builders).

Hope you liked this set. I may make a CJ out of this region once I've gotten it to where it's presentable. Once again, great work everyone!

Hi, this was supposed to be a latinamerican-spanish style city, but I'm not good on city planning so right now it's and all-style mixed city.

I assume you're talking about the seawalls? They're done by marrast, and can be found here . And if you want to get the other walls visible in the picture as well, they're jeronij's work; link here .
And now that I'm replying here, I've got to say that the cities shown here are great! I especially like Fox's pictures, they are absolutely stunning!

6.gif Wow, guys, you have a lot of talent here! Great pics.
Now i can't wait to show you few of mine 2.gif

Since i've continued playing around with Aureliano, i finnaly have some stuff finished. Nothing for the CJ update, but enough to show some pics here 1.gif

So, here is Aurelianeta - an old historic district of Aureliano. I've already mentioned it in my CJ, and posted a picture of this area, but actually, i was not really pleased with the result so i've decided to remake it.
Now, Aurelianeta looks perfect. Just exactly what i need 48.gif
