My little snack tower is almost completely modelled. It also has a name now: 1 Andis Plaza

Entrance is under construction ATM, roof and elevators are left. Then lighting. Have a closer look:

I'm glad this tower is complete. I didn't intend to make it so fancy and just wanted to have some quick fun... The perfectionist inside me came through nevertheless... I'm helpless, lol.

Its awesome! I'm currently trying to figure out what side of the burj to put it on... maybe my decision will be a bit easier when I actually have the burj!

To all of you waiting for the Burj Dubai I am happy to declare that work on the project will recommence once again now Andis Plaza is done. There is only the back part of the plaza to be modelled. After this I will have to go back to the tower itself and slice the glass fronts to be able to light them up as nightwindows. Working on the Andis Plaza was kind of a test for several things concerning the Burj, among it the nightwindows. I'm now familiar with the method of slicing the polys and it looks so good it would be a shame not to include it for the Burj!

Another thing I realized after working on Andis Plaza is in regards of custom LODs. I was trying to create the LODs in a way that would allow me to put people-animation props on the roofs. This turned out to be very complicated though. For one, not only the place where the props would go needs to be clear of LODs, but also the area around so they can be viewed  from ALL VIEWPOINTS. For the upper roof this was impossible since the flora is so complex I can't make skin-fit LODs for it. Apart from that I was very unhappy with the glitches that appear ingame when using custom LODs (only in MAX it seems though).
 
My project AFTER the Burj will be something completely different! I'm already researching for it... It's set in a fantasy world of a famous series. Not telling more yet
