hi there. if anyone is looking for a challange or just feels brave enough, here's a building, shich would be nice to see in simcity4.

Kaiserdom, Berlin - Germany [Berlin Cathedral]

MI03520g04b.jpg

MI03520g08b.jpg

MI03520g05b.jpg
source(s): www.bildindex.de

see also -> www.berliner-dom.de
-> http://images.google.de/images?q=berliner%20dom&hl=de&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wi

you mighted be wondered, why there are two diffrent cathedrals on the net. the one, with the rounder roof is the present cathedral (due heavy bombings in world war 2 and later bad reconstruction, the dome has not been exactyl reconstructed) the other one, with the antenna on top is the pre-war cathedral. built by the last king of prussia and emporer of germany in 1905, it is one of the masterpieces of neo-baroque-architecture in germany and europe and was supposed to be larger than the dome of st.peter's in rome.

believe me - if i weren't so stupid, i would have tried to bat it (i actually did) - but as i sad, i'm just too stupid for it!

i'd be really happy, if someone could bat this. if you need any further information, contact me at djturkey2004@web.de

-cheers - dj

Signs that size will barely show up in game, let alone be readable.  The best you could get is a white sign with a red bar on top.  No other details would show.

I would like to see someone try to do some new airport terminals and buildings. I am currently using Georges airport pack which is great but it only uses buildings from the game and it would be great to see some bat ones.

More Props would be nice.

some things that I wish I had to work with:

Stones, Rocks and Boulders, the Rock pack that came with one of the Official Landmarks is nice, however they are rather bland. Out here in Central California there appears to be a need to import mossy and lichen covered stones, rocks and boulders. These decrative stones are hauled on flat beds and require a crane to place! My neighbor just spend thousands of dollars for 3 large natural rocks, shipping and handling fees mostly.

In my rivers I would love to have some big rocks and boulders, I'm talking stones about 1/2 of a tile in diameter - big substantial things which could be situated in parks, next to buildings and help to give a more natural look to the game.

Statues: Even the tiny mayor's statue is too big to use to dress up the cemetaries, or to dress up the lawns of the Rich and Famous Sims - not only that it is rather dull and plain. It would be nice if we could have a few variations on this, from 1/2 Small Mayor statue size to Life-Sim-Sized.

Pathways: Using Base Texture and Overlay texture rarely works for me. I find that I spend a good deal of time using dirt circle and Dirt Rectangle and a few other flatish props to make a pathway - I rarely ever get the look that I am striving for. Stepping stones to sidewalks would be nice, Flag Stones, Cobbles, whatever that can come in a variety of sizes and dimentions that can be puzzled out to make a path which can be moved around to fit some of these wonderful buildings. Just yesterday I was trying to meet up a path to the door of one of the cathedrals - I gave it up as a lost cause simply due to the lack of overlay and base textures that fit.

Half the Wall/Fence: Half or less even. I like to use the fences, walls, and dividers in game, but many tend to be a full tile in length - lind of difficult to put a chainlink fence gate in the middle of a single tile.

Building blocks A couple of nice set of ruins and a pretty church which Lot Editor wrecked due to prop limits were made and offered. I think it would be nice to have more props to do ruin buildings, arches, collums, some laying down, some standing, some broken in half, etc. Various sized blocks. It would be even nicer if we could use these to build buildings which are not in ruins. To that list you would have to add roof panels, domes and other simple shapes all sharing a common texture and that can be puzzled together to make a old, old building.

Pool/Water Pack: Yes somebody just uploaded a wonderful swimming pool pack - Very nice, however I'm talking a variety of ponds and lakes and reflecting pools of various sizes and shapes. I know that there is water textures, I'm thinking things more along the lines of the water hazard and koi-pond.

I would like to request America's first national 'park' (or reserve as it was called then since the parks system was not yet created).  Hot Springs National Park in Hot Springs Arkansas.

(The view from North Mountain Observation Tower - East end of Historic District
The Back side of the U.S. Army Hospital is on the left hand side.)
/idealbb/files/ValleyLeft.jpg
(The view from North Mountain Observation Tower - Middle of Historic District
The tall building in center is the Medical Arts Building, the large two-winged building is the Arlington Hotel.)
/idealbb/files/ValleyMiddle1.jpg

The park includes Bath House Row; the largest collection (8 currently standing - only 3 pictured here) of bath houses fed by natural hot springs.
/idealbb/files/BathHouse1.jpg/idealbb/files/BathHouse3.jpg
/idealbb/files/BathHouse21.jpg

Across the street are historic buildings that are mostly art galleries and shops now.
(Taken from the Promenade behind the bathhouses.)
/idealbb/files/BetweenBathHouses.jpg
(Taken from Promenade behind the bathhouses of buildings across the street.  The red roof in the foreground belongs to a bathhouse)
/idealbb/files/BackOfBathHouse2.jpg

Up on the side of North Mountain is the U.S. Army Hospital.
/idealbb/files/ArmyHospitalSide2.jpg/idealbb/files/ArmyHospitalSide.jpg

At the end of Bath House Row is the famed Arlington Hotel which has it's own hot springs and the Medical Arts Building which housed the offices of the doctors that worked at the U.S. Army Hospital at one end of the downtown and the city hospital at the other end.

(Medical Arts Building on left                                    Top of Arlington Hotel on right)
/idealbb/files/MedicalBldg&Arlington.jpg
(Side view of the Arlington)
/idealbb/files/ArlingtonSide1.jpg
(Side view of Medical Arts Building)
/idealbb/files/MedicalBldgSide.jpg
The Medical Arts Building has 16 floors and was built in 1929.  It stands 180 feet tall and when constructed was the tallest building in Arkansas - a record that it held until 1960.  The back portion (on bottom-right of photo) was constructed on a rock protruding from the wall of the valley beginning on the fourth floor.

I would love to see all of this (and more!) either as one lot or a collection somehow.  Info on the web is almost non-existant but I would be willing to travel there (about 1 1/2 hours away) to take more pictures and even measurements if possible.

I will renew my request for Portman Road Stadium (Home to Ipswich Town F.C.)

I also would like to see Starfleet Acadamy, but not desperate. Also, any chance of Wembley Stadium, either new or old?

How about a Convention Center? We have new everything, parks, skyscrapers, stadiums, bus stops, etc. But no new convention center designs. And a convention center is an extremly important design of a city. How about this one That is going up in Denver, Co?

/idealbb/files/conventioncenter_031.jpg

Also the hotel that Hyphenate posted is part of the expansion project.
Here are 2 links with more info on it. Any new and better design of a concention center will satisfy me though.

this shows construction progress.

I've got a couple of ideas. Basically any or all of the Frnak LLoyd Wright buildings would be good, maybe falling water. Other than those I'd say maybe some ancient stuff. Like someone's interpretation of the colossus at Rhodes...
colossus.jpg
colossus.jpg
Or the the tower of babel...

otp2.jpg
Or here's a smaller building, I don't know the actual name but many refer to it as the dancing building..

I have been waiting for these three buildings to appear at simcity.com, but if someone can build the Sydney opera house, the Eiffel Tower and the UN headquarters it would be much appreciated.
And where exactly can I download the finished requested buildings?
