If anyone ever decides to get around to it, I'd like to see Canada Place in Vancouver; aswell as some new port type buildings that are actually commercial or civic....most waterfronts I've ever seen tend to be packed with piers aswell with functional buildings on top. Might be nice...1.gif

These aren't exactly requests, but here's three interesting suggestions for some of you more experienced, and even some of you novice gmax users.

LOVE Park, Philadelphia, PA.

I'll use this thread to back the Saddledome suggestion by legalizit:

border=0>
border=0>

Recent History:
The Pengrowth Saddledome is utilized by many different organizations. The top of those being the Home of the Calgary Flames. It also features round the year entertainment including festivals, wrestling, monster-trucking and events during the Calgary Stampede. The Saddledome is also a huge place for music, and houses some of the largest and most ass-kicking concerts. In 2003 Ozzy Osbourne sold out the Saddledome in about an hour. This year (2004), Nickleback is dropping by twice, selling out the 'Dome in about 40 minutes. Calgary is priveleged to be the only city in Canada that gets two doses of Metallica, the first concert selling out the 'Dome in 26 minutes (We are talking about 20,000 raging, screaming fans here).

I have a simple request, new el train and monorail stations, includeing, if possible 'grand station' versions with 2 or more sets of tracks entering/exiting the station.

Also, is it possible to rotate an el train or monorail station so it's dose NOT need to be parallel to a road, or even better, create a station that sits above a road.

I would attemt this myself, but with the lack of free time, it'll be months and months before I even start rendering a bat building. 22.gif It dosen't help much when I'm still learning ilive/data gen, the lot editor and bat/gmax.(and I had all of them when they were first released 22.gif )

Thanks to those who can do this!

25,000 people to request buildings, and a couple dozen to make em. Scary thought.

I have a proposition, that might help fix a couple problems. First, I'm going to post and sticky the Building Requests Filled thread. This thread will be for
BAT
users
to post in when they start working on a requested building. I'm going to ask that the Building Requests Filled thread be used as little as possible, and only by
BAT
users. If you wish request a building, please check this thread before you do.
BAT
users who are working on a requested building will post a note in the Building Requests Filled thread when they do, and once a request is filled, we shouldn't need any more requests for that particular building.

Second, I'm going to start scanning this thread every couple weeks and pick a few of the most frequently requested buildings. This will give everyone a chance to vote for the request they most want a
BAT
user to take on. Now, I hadn't intended to start doing
BAT
stuff for a while, but I think I'm going to put my DatGen project on hold for a little while. Making buildings is pretty low-key and low-brain usage compared to programming, and I have been programming something, one program or another, for over a year solid. I need some time off to study and work on other hobbies for a while. Modeling is one of my hobbies. So, I'll try to fill some of these requests myself (need to finish the nTek building first, but that shouldn't take more than a week).

I can't handle all the requests, though, so I'm going to ask a few specific BATTers for help, as I've seen their work and know they all have a lot of talent. I don't know if these BATTers will take me up on the offer, but I'm hoping a few will. This will form a team of
BAT
Request Fillers, and hopefully we will be able to start getting several of the most requested buildings started soon. I am in no way promising that others will join me in this venture, as its their choice, and if not, well, you just get me.

DarkMatter....Did I read this wrong or are all of the posts since your post missing the point? You are looking for those who want to make a building to post something that asks for someone to give them an idea, then they will make that? Correct?
And NOT...people just writing in and sending pics of buildings that they want others to make? Am I right on this? If not...then I have a few that I would like to give to those very experienced BATters. Otherwise, I'll hold off and wait for 1. someone to ask for one or 2. for myself to become skilled enough to make these buildings. And NO they are giant skyscrapers. They are office buildings and others, (ie. a library) but they just look cool.
Sorry, I rambled.

Beash, no, this thread is beeing used right. I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm going to try rallying up some of the BAT squad members to start working on some of the requests, and that I was going to start new threads to help the project along.

This thread is still dedicated to people who want to make requests, and preferably post pictures of the building they want if its not well-known.

One idea for a SimCity 4 B.A.T. lot is the Spirit of Houston, a massive statue that has been proposed but not yet built. Here is some more information on the plan.

Since I'm absolutely horrible at BAT, I'd like to make a few requests myself.

Westin Bonaventure Hotel, Los Angeles, CA
Very beautiful (and expensive) hotel in downtown LA.

Library Tower/US Bank Tower, Los Angeles, CA
Tallest building in the US west of the Mississippi and tallest building in a major earthquake zone. It also was the first building blown up in the movie Independence Day.

Century Plaza Towers I&II, Los Angeles, CA (Century City)
Triangular twin office buildings.

KPMG Tower, Los Angles, CA
Just another triangular office tower, this one in downtown LA.

I've got a lot more than that I'd like to see, but I think that's enough for now. Thanks to anyone that's willing to take up any of the projects.

And yay for first posts!

Welcome, Furious! I would like to see Library Tower as well. Do you live in Los Angeles? There is a set of triangle-shaped twin towers downtown not far from the Library Tower, and I was wondering what they are called. Thanks for any help you can give on that. <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/1.gif border=0>

My suggestions:

1. The Skylon Tower by Niagra Falls, USA & Canada

2. Taipei 101 (currently either in the planning stages or under construction in Taipei, Taiwan

3. Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur

4. 7 South Dearborn (planned for construction in Chicago)

Taipei 101 and 7 South Dear born are derived from Popular Science (March 2003) and Popular Mechanics (March 2000) respectively. You might be able to find information on both (and even more) from the website on Hyphenate's post back on page 3.

Well, I'd like to see a couple of argentinian buildings <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/22.gif>
Tower Telecom, Puerto Madero, Buenos Aires, Argentina
/idealbb/files/Telecom51.jpg
/idealbb/files/Telecom41.jpg
It'll be a Medium Density Building. It's pretty similar to Alinjalade Inc.
Also, Bank Boston Building, Puerto Madero, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
/idealbb/files/Boston22.jpg
/idealbb/files/Boston62.jpg
This, of course will be a High Density Commercial Building.
Another nice looking building is the Tower Alem.
Couldn't get any direct pictures, just this urls of skyscrapers.com
Actually is and office complex, of two buildings, Tower Alem & Tower Catalina
x )
Thanks, i think they are really nice buildings

Thanks for the welcome, BigMac. Yeah I live in LA, moved here for college about 4 years ago.

Well, as far as twin triangular buildings downtown I can't think of any off the top of my head, but you might be thinking of the KPMG Tower and the Wells Fargo Tower . KPMG is triangular, and Wells Fargo is more of a diamond shape.

I can't think of any actual twin buildings in downtown except One and Two California Plaza , and they aren't even really twin towers since one is much shorter that the other. But hey, they would be some nice buildings to see rendered as well.

I guess next time I'm downtown I'll have to take a look and see if I can find the buildings you're talking about.

OK yeah, I already had a link for those in my request. They aren't actually in downtown, they're in Century City (about 10 miles west of downtown, next to Beverly Hills), so that's why I didn't think you were talking about them. Very nice looking office towers, I think they used to be leased by NBC.

And wow, I think those must be some slightly old pics, because there seems to be a lot more buildings around there now. Or maybe it's just from a different angle than what I'm used to seeing them.

I agree, the Skylon Tower from Niagara Falls would be cool.  Another one I would have to add would possibly be Detroit's Renaissance Center.

Good Luck!

I see Furious, you did have them in your requests. I think you're right about there being more buildings surrounding them, though I originally thought the Library Tower was nearby. What sparked my curiosity about the towers was seeing them (or similar buildings) at the beginning of each MADtv episode. <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/1.gif border=0>

Place Roale doesn't seem to fit in that city. To big and bulky for a city the size of Trois Riviers. It is nice though, isn't it?

I'd like to see some Memorials Such as:
/idealbb/files/Rodina
Rodina (MotherLand) Statue
/idealbb/files/Rodina2.jpg
This Statue is inside a building.  The Larger Statue is atop the building.  I'd like to see this one built outside however, and perhaps larger, that way we can see it.  <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/9.gif>

I'd also like to see some More Egyptian things.  Mastabas, Stepped Pyramids, Palaces, and some of those giant statues of the Egyptian Gods. <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/3.gif>
