Nice port bob, I love all the seaports. You have one of the best and busiest looking ports I have seen in a CJ ! I can't wait to see some more. I am going to put this one in my Favorite CJ's list as well.

Your new region? YES! By the way bobinator, congratulations on your 1000th post! I still have quite a bit to go before I get there, but should be soon, considering I have 13 posts a day. Looks like RLS hasn't caught up to me yet...

    Sun Valley Times

Sun Valley construction crews finish downtown subway system

Yesterday streams of people poured into the brand new subway stations after months and months of tedious work by construction crews. The chief problem with construction was the extreamly moist ground and the possibility of the tunnels caving in. It was a rough few months but in the end we pulled through in style, says head of construction Jon Howard.  Sun Valley residents have waited years for a subway system and now they get, says head of the transportation department. Only the downtown area will be subway, we have rail plan to cover the rest of the city. Here are some computer generated photos of the system.

I love the way you do the suburbs with the 1x1 housing all together.  It looks great.
How is the traffic in those suburbs?  Do they all use the mass transit?

    Good work as always. 35.gif9.gif35.gif

@rewright: Thanks for your comment, you inspired me to do this city journal. Thanks for all of your great ones! 29.gif Is Casa Grande still going?42.gif

    @jacqulina: Thanks, it's appreciated.

@jimbob10: Thanks for the comment! I'm glad you've tuck areound Sun Valley so long!

@Sim_Idiot: Thanks. The traffic is probably medium/ high. Those that have acess to the new rail line (look at the newest suburb pic) use that for the most part. And it the pics above that, the people living in dowtown use the subway. I plan to upgrade my rail and subway to cover the whole region.

@RadioheadFan: Yea, I love suburbs too! Thanks for your comment!

Nice CJ. The sprawl looks quite realistic. My wheels are turning on what to do to my cities.

In a future update, please provide some info on your cash flow. (I can't stand losing money.) I am curious on the cost impact of all those streets. Also, what is your traffic/commute time like?

    Thx

@MallowTheCloud: Thanks! Glad to see you in Sun Valley. I think your downtown in your city journal is very realistic!

@mtnclmber: Thanks for the comment. Glad your 'wheels are turning!' As to the cash flow, I cheated. I cheat for 3 reasons:
    1) I do this because I like to lay my highways and roads before zoning.
2)I also do this so I can entise whatever I want to develop in my cityes- if I want medium wealth suburbs I make their taxes like 2.0 and jack low and high up to 20. If I did this without the money cheat most of my cities would go down the drain.
    3) I cheat for money because of health and education. It is prised right but the scool doesn't cover nearly enough area. For instance, my hometown of Spokane has about 500,000 people counting suburbs. I'm guess for everyone there are probably 20 to 25 elementary schools tops. In Sun Valley I have much more than that to cover the entire area because they cover such a limited amount of space. That's why I cheat for money.

I'm guessing pretty much every realitic city creator cheated. I'm almost sure rewrite, thejersydevil, davidhogdan, whiteshark and many others did. If I didn't I could still make Sun Valley but it would probably take me years to do. Hope that clears everything up!

    Sun Valley Times

    Convention Center Addon

Three weeks ago construction crews broke ground on an addon to the Sun Valley convention center. Once complete, Sun Valley will be the home of the largest center in North America north of Seattle. We're very excited about this project and how many new buisnesses and shows it will bring us. We had to reject many offers because of the size of our facility. Now, that this is constructed, we have plenty of room for almost all activities, says Mayor Bobinator.

    It's a shame isn't it?

Just got MS paint and thought I'd give it a try. Do you like my pics better the old way or this way?

Very nice bobinator!! I really like what you've done with the construction lots! I agree with RHF, I like how you have it with the little captions in each picture. Easier to figure out what your talking about in your pics.
