    Nothing up my sleeve...

Surface water, love-hate-love-hate-love-hate.  It could be so great...

I'll do a post with all the water info you asked about this evening.

Oh, finally managed to use Goldiva's reefs, from his GDV Mayor Mode Sea Set

    3rrexpgoldivareefbay4f8bcbdzy8.jpg

in a way that doesn't look half-bad, if I do say so myself.

I'll be by AVR later to steal some more great ideas further admire your masterful work.

    David

Keep up the great work!  You have a fantastic knack for "show and don't tell" by words plus pictures.  Plus your presentation and conversation style makes me feel right at home in your CJ.  Well done!

I have many of the plugins you mentioned, downloaded many of the others you recommended but came up short on a good number.  I scoured and looked but couldn't find them.  (For example, I couldn't find the industry quadruper, toll booth boost and maxis functional landmarks by Toroca and the bridge height mod by Joerg.)

Your transportation network feels so natural and is superbly done, especially how it feels like you're contouring roads naturally through the terrain.

Perhaps you're planning this in the future, but I for one would love to see how a planning engineer might approach SimCity in creating realistic looking downtowns, suburbs, parks, etc.  Just a thought anyway.

You've inspired me to try my hand at developing a very small region and do some simple terraforming with hills, mountains, streams, rivers, etc.    Then add a great transport network.  I'll post some pics If it turns out fairly well.  42.gif

Enjoy and thanks for the fantastic updates.

    Don

Hey, nice update in here, I like it, and I have a question, how can you do it, a bridge on land, I mean on land because plop water is not the same as real one. I've try it before, but could never achieve a bridge, it always draws a road and carves the terrain if necessary.

Interesting work David, note here that I'm using the worrd interesting just to try to break from the "great work" comment....

Ok... where was I now... Oh Yeah!

Great work David (darn... did it again!)

Right off the bat, first pic, middle left. the way you terraformed the land to place your railroad bridge is purely brilliant! Prepare to be copied! Ditto for that gentle slope that goes down to the river... (drooling)

The experimentation with the farms is a success, nice mix of the squarish and more irregular ones, I know that in RL most farms are mostly of a rectangular shape, that look is somewhat less appealing in the game, at least if we have a repetition of it. so the mix is indeed welcome aestheticaly (sic) speaking.

In pic 3 that small bridge setup is really something! And I really like the fact that you kept the pylons (even if they're red!)

In pic 4 I like your experiment with highway connections, in that particular setup have you ever tried the rural highway mod just to make the connection itself between both elevated highways? (Am I making any sense here?)

Anyhow, loved it (I could cite you here with that love-hate thing 18.gif ), always a lot to learn by watching you work.

    Take care David 44.gif

I really like your work. I couldn't believe when I saw this CJ yesterday, as I have been working on my own Three Rivers region for the past couple months, and was hoping to get a CJ going. Probably wouldn't be too cool of me to have a CJ with the same name as yours. But, I just wanted to say I really like what I see here.

Wow!  Nice work with the ploppable water in your last two updates!  The transition to real water looks great and is pretty much flawless!  I may be borrowing some of your techniques for breaking the grid in my own CJ as well.  I've used ploppable water on a small scale, but this is quite inspiring.  Looking forward to seeing more!

Really incredible photos! They just look sooooo real!

I think the best part about all of your photos are those excellent rivers that you make.

Besides that, fantastic islands and peninsulas!

Sometime today or tomorrow, in answering Silvio's (Rayden - New Haven) question about land bridges, we'll continue the long-delayed Update 10.  In the process, we'll build this.

    bridgetease01500da02tf9.jpg

    We're getting there, folks.  Honest.

    David

...p.s.  I haven't forgotten the rest of the mail...I'm going to have to advertise for staff pretty soon if I don't just get on it.  Thanks, as always, for stopping by...

I dunno, why I wasn't visiting that CJ earlier...

Totally outstanding work. You said you steal ideas from AVR? So now I'll steal ideas from your CJ 19.gif Those rivers reminds me the one in my town... I love the use of rocks and trees near them. Bridges, especially those stone ones are real eye-candys.

You're very talented. I'll surely come back here.
