Nice update(s). Poor coinstruction workers, working in such a bad rain is really hard ... and don't tell me they wouldn't, I know they do!

Great answer to my proposal I must admit! 44.gif18.gif17.gif

The overall layout of the suburb yone looks really nice. I also like the details around the el-Train station. BTW the second with the covered bus-tubes - which is it?

And actually I am really curious now what you are doing with the surrounding area of Kwakelaars great old-romanesque church!

Take care!

Hey Darmok. Great job on the stadium sector once again. I love the finished product. And it looks even better during that rain shower (a great effect by the way).

Now to the suburbs. Great work there and not dirty at all... the development looks nice already. Good idea to start with buildings like the church and school.

Take care my friend.

The area around the Bergen church looks promising 1.gif It would be cool if you could do walls around the whole sunken area 2.gif At any rate, keep this up 44.gif

    sloppet (twice)
Hey Sloppet, thanks for your good words, and for the welcoming to page 69! Take care

    jacqulina
I was pretty sure you'd like the Muffin's idea. Hope you'll find the suburbs to your liking! Take care

Hi Vester, The triangular building is : Kolmiotalo by prepo
     Hope this'll help you!

    Shadow_Assassin
Hi S_A_, Well here's the developed suburb!

    Bernhard
Well, those construction workers sure earn their money don't they! As for Kelly's Escort, I was glad to oblige, as I often leave open spaces in the cities, there's always room for one more lot, And I must admit that this was a good suggestion! Glad you appreciate the layout, and for the Bus/EL Train station, it's :  BSC Raised Park ElRail to Bus Transfer Station by deadwoods   Kwakelaar's Maria Church is a real beauty! And it was easy for me to chose it as a focus point for the whole suburb area. Thanks for the welcoming to page 69! And yes it does go well with your avatar, and BTW I've always wondered why the 69 in your name!!! Take care my friend

    PhilsCafe
Hi Phil, Thanks for your appreciation my friend. Sometimes it's fun just to put some rain and fog, gives a more lived in atmosphere. As I said to Bernhard, the layout for the suburbs was greatly influenced by Kwakelaar's church. What you will see in only one update, took several hours of play, (and some blasting 11.gif ). Take care!

    metasmurf
Hi metasmurf, hey the wall thing is a great idea! I'll keep it in mind for a future city, this one being already completed about two months ago, and redoing the whole perimeter would be a bit disruptive on everything that was built around it! But great idea nonetheless! Thanks for the suggestion!

    Hey Darmok.

I love the suburbs 36.gif. The trees and all the other details such as the trails and sports field are very nice. And of course the church in the middle of all this is simply great.

    Excellent job my friend.

    Hi Darmok,

Bored with the tech shots? No way. 28.gif That suburban update was great and inspiring as always. It has given me a few ideas to try out in my current game. I'm looking forward to the next update.

My new PC is finally up and running. It's like in that old Fred Astaire tune Heaven...I'm in heaven so my comments for this update are brief. I'm returning to some serious game playing now that I can really enjoy it.

Have a nice weekend and take care.

some good looking suburbs you have there, darmok. although, IMO, there isn't much high density development in a suburbia-type environment. but, hey, this isn't real life and it'll probably look great anyways.

on another note, the mayoral mansion looks awesome, the mayor must have some deep pockets to live in a place like that. i'll be tuned in for your next update!44.gif

PICS WILL BE POSTED IN A FEW MINUTES BROWSER PROBLEM THIS MORNING --- SORRY ---

    Sloppet
Thanks for your support Sloppet,I really appreciate it!
    slann
No problem slann, I understand how difficult it can be to manage a CJ like yours and trying to keep up to date with all the CJ's we want to visit! Simply not enough time! Thanks for the kind words (and bunnies 5.gif), and yes we at Anduin Valley are pleased with Christina's election! Take care
    PhilsCafe
Hi Phil, glad you appreciated it! but then again how can you go wrong with such great BAT as Kwakelaar's church! Take care
    Leini
Hi Leini, It's a relief to know that people still like the tech shots... Thanks for your support!
    aleking
Alek it's always a pleasure to read you! And I'm glad to learn that you're still out there lurking 2.gif, I know I should use the diagonals more often in my cities, it breaks the griddy patterns and add diversity, it's just that I don't like how the game engine deals with the diagonal zoning! I dream of a day when the zoning will be really facing the street and not that 45 degree angle! Thanks for your comments buddy!
    sandrasim1
Hi Sandra' Glad to know that your new box is finally up and running! Good for you. As for the tech shots, I'm always wondering if people want them or not, but as I receive some PM asking me how to terraform, I just try to keep a good balance between tech and candy shots. Anyhow if in the end it can help some people I think it's a good thing. I know I've learn a lot by looking at how others do things! So have a great weekend and enjoy your new toy! Take care
    newyorkrunaway1
    Thanks for your encouragement newyork!
    Dsrwhat316
Hi Dsr, for the mix of high, med and low density res, in that particular sector, I just transposed the zoning of residential we have not so far from where I live, in this one you have apartment buildings on the periphery of the sector, and in the interior of the zone you have a school, sports facilities and low density residential, no church though I added it for the looks! 21.gif The Mayoral mansion doesn't belong to the mayor, it's just an official place to receive honored guests and diplomats, you know.... the kind of parties that are stuffed and stuck up! As for myself I'd rather have a Guinness in a small pub with good friends! 10.gif Thanks for your visit and good words! Take care

grasping for air. Does anyone know mouth to mouth? 6.gif6.gif6.gif

I knew I should not be away too long, but a flu and sinusoid inflammation kept me from my work (and time looking at Anduin Valley).
What a huge MOM mall you have made. I am glad to see this mall of JPortland in action and you made it perfectly!

I have soo many questions...... I will limit myself to one though.

Where did you get the triangular court/plaza from? This court can be found next to the parking garage in update #31. It fits so perfectly with Jeronijs diagonal park, did you mad it your self?

Of course I have some remarks as well (you asked for them yourself).

    sunenergy%20carpark.JPG

You managed to hide this omission quite well until you staretd to show us the tram. The cars do not have a road acces. They need to drive over the plaza's next to the sun collector. (jeeeeeeeeeeeez I am a sore one, am I not?).

    Oops I found another question:
    See this picture....
    hockeyhotel%20curve.JPG

How did you make the connection to the holiday hotel? It curves so nicely and you do not have a cul de sac what is normally the case.
I cannot bat myself out of a paper bag (Quote from Jarnomiedema) so if it is a MOD is it anywhere available?

Nice to see the master in action. Great looking at your cities and I hope you will continue for a long time. 44.gif44.gif

LOL! D-man, you're just like me, pal. I'm ALWAYS demolishin' any low-class, run-down apt. project buildin' and I'm always prayin' that somethin' else come in its place that's actually....worth livin' in. I always find myself bulldozin' any buildin' that looks like it should be in a condemned neighborhood, and I usually don't get anythin' better afterwards. Yep, it's always out with the old, in with the new. A common problem/situation with all mayors, if ya ask me. I just hope it works out for all of us.

Awesome update, man. I love the Embassy Suites and all the parks and opportunities for relaxation all around it. It makes me wanna rent a room for no reason. lol. Brilliant. Keep up the great work, man! Spare us nothin'!

    John,

As I said to Dan and others, I first must appologize for now posting in several updates.  I have been busy with all kinds of RLS while still trying to do a CJ, RJM Design projects, the MAPP, etc.

You plan and execute a wonderful CJ.  How you terraform your CJ is probably your best feature.

I wish I could say more...but I can't say enough.  It is all so great...so I'll just pause to say keep em coming! 44.gif

Hey John, well it's been a few days.  Between auditions for the Band and learning to BAT (see the RJM thread), I have neglected my duties here in AV.  Beautiful couple of updates my friend.  You never cease to amaze me with your planning and the structure your updates seem to follow.  I really liked the use of the NAM overpass, especially on the diagonal as well as your continued use of those cycleways.  Have a great week buddy.
