John my friend, sorry that I missed the big 100 page celebration...........The compilation pics were amazing. I see that I got a little too much face time in the one though.....

Your work continues to amaze as well as your commitment to the game. Everytime I take a peak, I realize how much I miss playing....and long for a time when life will slow down a bit.....which BTW, appears to be on the horizon.

I still say that you are an over achiever and a show off......2.gif

Looks great, Darmok. Everything flows together wonderfully, as always. Don't worry, I'll be here for the next 100 of Anduin. 9.gif

The houses in pic 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 look real cool.. don't think I ever saw them on the STEX... maybe I did... I don't know ... but I do know I have not downloaded them yet.. think I'm going to start a search! quote>

Don't bother. 3.gif They're in the game already, just look in the Euro tileset.

Hello John!

Nice one my friend! but to get all those residentials at the same time I guess our friend Bulldoyer 07 was rather busy ... Whenever I try to get a "pure style" area my friend 07 is really busy for a lot of (ingame) years .... 34.gif

Frau Schinkenwurst & Frau Kartoffelpuffer ... seems to be you have a nice book of german food ... 49.gif9.gif

Have a nice weekend!

Pipe smoke? You are one of the funniest people at ST. Great update, my favorite pic is the radio tower one, mainly for that piece of the railroad bridge that looks almost rusted in the close-up view. Excellent stuff.

You know, Darmok, when I came to ST back in Dec. of '05, I was lucky to have read through a couple of the longest CJs here on Simtropolis back then, but unfortunately, yours wasn't one of them. Now, today, I was lured here by a post that choco made in my CJ about my building style reminding him of the style used in Anduin Valley. After that, I just had to come here and check it out, but it's over 100 pages long with many updates on each page, so I just couldn't read through your whole CJ. With that said, I'm now starting by commenting on your last update, and let me say that choco was right! You love to level terrain with street tiles and use retaining walls just as much as I do. Beside that, you have a great looking city and nice graphics! From now on, I'll continue to comment in this CJ. I hope I didn't miss something big that pertains to the being of your CJ today; if so, please fill me in on as much as possible (but don't waste too much time on me). Have a good weekend, and see you next update!

sorry i missed a couple of updates (vacation)....anyways, lol about the fortune cookies but now that i think about it, Fortune cookies probably arent made in the cleanest place in the world... and i have to agree, the NAM makes almost anything possible for a transportation network, but for some reason, diagonal elevated overpasses never seem to come out right, hummm off topic..... awesome collage/mosaic/alot of pictures from awesome cities from an awesome region..... remeinds me of all the good times from the lengthy 100+ pages....oh and by the way congrats on 100 pages!!!

Hey Darmok!

It's been a while 4.gif Had a rough weekend... Holland being kicked out of the World Championships and all 15.gif...

Anyway... about my sig.. before I edited it with your suggestions it only said "Yeppa yeppa", although I really liked Speedy Gonzalez, it wasn't refering to him... I'm guessing you'r not Dutch, so you'd probably don't know the band BZN, but Yeppa Yeppa is one of my favourite songs! Just download it, it's fun! ( BZN - Yeppa < the lyrics so you can sing along, it's french! 2.gif...

...no actually the music is terrible but it's just a fun song when you're getting dr*nk with some friends 9.gif ...

I've said it before and I'll just say it again... great CJ! I allready commented your last update.. but one more time: it was great!

Take Care!

Impressive update Darmok. Great how you made that whole are look the same. How did you do that? Did you limit the residential growth lots in your plugin folder or did you buldoze a lot and I mean a LOT I keep on buldozing when I do it that way. It is so Booooooring!! so I do not do that a lot, maybe you have a tip?

Frau Schinckenwurst LOL 17.gifHilarious
Update 11 is very nice too. The way you design your towns is just great. It is a sheer enjoyment to look at it and see ut grow. That highway overpass is just brilliant. Perfect placement of the wasteplant and the watertower.
Great that redesign of the intermodal depot. Interesting fillers you use.

Have a great week.

Sorry folks I dont have the link for the appartment building...

They are Marrast Modest EURO Housing Lots Set 1.0, BUT it seems that they are no longer on the STEX. It seems Marrast lots have been "lost", some technical problem that could be resolved in the future, in the site upgrade. I've made LOTS of searches with GOOGLE, but found nothing so far...

    zzavintrojune2006down7vf.jpg

BerlinDude - The City of Lisoaca - Glory and Darkness, Divided and Reunited!

    Thanks BerlinDude!

    JoeMeister

    Hi Joe

The houses I've downloaded from the STEX see the link section.

They are indeed chain-smokers they are old RollingStones fans used to go to every concerts and smoke... well... let's say they smoke too much...

    Take care, (and don't smoke!...)

Szarkoz - The Free Democratic Nation of Caledonia

Thanks, well, if you look closely at pic 12, you'll notice that some of the apartment buildings have their own (albeit small) playground... they used to have bigger sand boxes but the old ladies were throwing their cigarettes butt in them! (the old harpies!)

    See you !

(and watch out for smoking old ladies!)

    Micah - Kingwood

No not really, all you have to do is: go to the file menu, chose "save as" then chose "Web page complete" then browse to the folder you want, (or create a new one) then hit OK and that's about it! Your CJ page is saved.

The walkways I try to use as much as possible, very often those small lots makes all the difference!

    Take care!

Jason -(Aldara6166) - Modular Amusement park thread

Hehehe... join the club my friend, this was just supposed to be kind of a small experiment, I don't know where I lost control! 2.gif

Unfortunately SCR (Sculpting Columbia River) is no longer in the CJ section, I don't remember how many pages it had I think it was around 120 or something...

    Good to see you Jason

    Regards

    John

    Rayden - New Haven

That's very nice of you to say Sylvio!

And who knows perhaps one day our MODDERS magicians will come up with a solution for diagonal bridges...

I guess you're right about "quartier" and "quarteirão" after all both language are derived from latin!

    Take care!

Mightygoose - Vil-valad, a city and its roots

Hey John, well, I guess I'll have to plan a new embassy sector!

ah... so much work and so little time!  2.gif

    Have a great week!

    Bat

    Thanks BAT!

Battlecat - Terra - An evolving region

Hi Battlecat, about that small stretch of road on the waterfront, It took me a while to finally decide what I wanted, in the end the small warehouses idea seemed to be what was needed!

    Take care

    Sagrel

    Welcome to Anduin Valley Sagrel

Thanks for your kind comment, and do come back whenever you feel like it!

    Take care!

Kant01 - The Mystic County Project

    Hi Kant,

Hey don't be sorry, we all have RL and there's only 24 hours in a day! I know that I would like to comment on a lot of CJ's but we just can't. So, I'm glad to read you whenever you can find the time to drop by.

The NAM is so useful for those kind of problems! And I'm sure I could use it a lot more!

    Thanks for your appreciation!

    Take care!

    GaBoR - Oro Bruno

Hehehe, I don't know why, but when I saw the accident picture an old mean lady (not too mean mind you, but I'm sure everyone knows one in their neighborhood!) just popped into my mind! And the rest just came easily...

We had a great time this weekend, it was "Le Grand Prix du Canada" a Formula 1 race, (I must admit that F1 is my weakness I just can't miss it!)

    Have a great week amigo!

Special Eddie - Oasis--The Wild West

    Thanks Eddie!

    See you in Oasis!

    Tracker - Graph X Services

Hi Tracker, well as it's a lower middle class sector it couldn't look glamourous, I hod to go for a clean but simple look for the apartment buildings and their surroundings as well.

    Take care

    Jacky (jacqulina) - Paradise Falls

Hi Jacky, I'm really glad I could help you.

Have a great week my friend!

    Fallon144

    Thanks Fallon!

Justanothersim86 - Justanothersims Civic BAT Projects

Thanks J-A-S, I really like your avatars using Garry Larsen cartoons!

    Take care

    Godwin

Thanks Godwin, I'm pretty sure that you're the only "reader-only" visitor in AVR!

Much appreciated, though it must be a bit "dry" not seeing the pics!

    Take care

Dan - La Plaisance County (Best little County South of Canada!)

Dan, I'm really glad to see you. Forget about the 100th page, there's more to come.

Just good too have some news, and I sure hope the horizon is not too far.

As for the last line in your comment.....

I miss you too my friend!

Regards to you and your family!

    John

    Owenluby ñ Barto Lakes

Well, everybody needs a place to dwell! Not only rich folks! WINK

    See you!

    Going2Chicago

hehehe, watch out! those dust ball can be murder!

Take care, and don't forget to sweep the floor!

    S_A_ (Shadow_Assassin) - The Savannah Way

    How's it going my friend?

In fact those houses are not the ingame ones, look at the link section.

And I'm glad to know you'll be there for the next anniversary!

    Take care mate!

    Yaptszwai

Hey Yaptszwai, just wanted some quiet "ordinary" neighborhood.

    Take care!

Yoman3 - United Republic of Ankara

Hey don't worry Yoman! I miss a lot of updates everywhere recently! RL is harder these days! can't seem to find enough free time!

    Thanks for the visit!

ThePeoplesPerson - The Tropics of Haalu

    Hi People Person,

Watch the STEX in the following weeks, at some point you'll be able to download some great little lots that "fakes" transit enabling! Dan should be uploading them, but please don't put ANY pressure, just be patient, he his REALLY busy these days    .

    Take care!

Bernhard (Nardo) - Urland a (mostly) rural coastline

    Hi Bernhard

No need for Dozer No7 this time! See the link section.

hehehe... I was sure you'd get it! All this began when I saw the accident pic. The old lady just popped in my mind and when I was looking for a funny name, the idea of having an old "mean" german lady came, knowing that it would be easy looking into the german dictionary and finding food names that could pass as a family name!

    I know.... I know... it's weird, but I just couldn't resist! LOL

    The weekend was great.

Hoping you having a good time watching the Mundial...

    Take care my friend

    Anubis - anubis' cities

    Hey Anubis,

    Glad you appreciate the passport.

And I said before I just wanted a quiet "ordinary" neighborhood...

    Take care

Benedict - The Mayors of Ellis Valley

hehehe... I just like to imagine those two respectable ladies puffing their pipes and sending smoke signals! ;lol

As for the funny stuff, I guess you outrank me quite a bit, so I'm taking this as a great compliment comming from you!

    Take care

    Tracker - Graph X Services

Well, as Anduin Valley doesn't have any spatial installations, we cannot send any direct help, but a lot of doctors, nurses, architects and one pig farmer... have volounteered to help.

Just send the coordinates of the nearest spaceport and the AV Council will send immediately a private jet to the location.

    Darmok

    Cityhawk ñ Montrose

    Welcome to Anduin Valley cityhawk,

It's perfectly understandable, there's so much CJ's that trying to follow them all would necessitate all our free time! So no problem there.

Very few people have gone back to read the whole thing. I guess you could look at some of the pages at random so you'd see the evolution from the beginning to what I do now. But then again I'll leave that to you.

As for levelling terrain, I try more and more to do it only when necessary and try to integrare each sectoe as best as I can in it's environment. Sometimes it works, sometimes...meeeh! The retaining walls I tend to use less now, I'm trying to use them only when it looks like the setup really demands it! If not I try to be the more nature oriented as I can.

Last, I don't feel that I EVER waste any time on anyone, it's always a pleasure to answer question about AVR or gameplay in general, it's how I've learned new tricks so far!

Looking forward to reading you again, and do not hesitate to criticize or ask any question you like!

    Take care!

    Ilikehotdogs alot

    Welcome to Anduin Valley ilikehotdogsalot,

    Thanks for that intriguing comment!

    Take care!

    Choco (Chocolatemax285) - Green Depra

    Hi mate,

Those appartments are Marrast's, unfortunately they are no longer on the STEX, I'll email Marrast to see if he plan to reupload them or if we can do it for him.

Thanks, and have a great week!

    KoolSIM

    Thanks Aasim!

    Take care

Luker01 - San Lucas: My first CJ

    Hi Luke,

No problem, I miss some updates too when RL hit!

I must admit I made one diagonal elevated overpass, it finally turned out OK but was not so easy to do!

And I couldn't say anything about fortune cookie factories, never seen one in my entire life! LOL I should apologize to fortune cookie makers! I had a lot of fun doing the collage, had me thinking "out of the box" for a time, was a nice change from my RL work. Felt like a child doing a scrapbook!

    Thanks for the congrats.

    See you!

    JoeMeister

    Hey Joe,

Sorry about Holland. I must admit that I didn't follow the Mundial except when listening to the news, here it's mostly hockey or baseball. (and to be honest I don't even follow that, I'm more of a F1 fan...)

    No I'm not Dutch, and I don't know BZN, serves me right to comment on something I don't know hey! :;-);

About the part getting.... you know, well been there, done that! But we were not singing Yeppa, i was more the Beatles or The Rolling Stones! hehehe... But I know that the fun is always the same, whatever the song is!

Thanks for your comments Joe, it's really appreciated!

    Take care

    ThomasAH - Zorturia

    Hi Thomas

No problem, one is never late when writing kind words!

    Tot Ziens!

    Sloppet – Anwakee – County

Hi Sloppet, great to see you my friend!

    And yes page 3!

    Take care

    Owenluby - Barton Region

    Hi Owen

Thanks, and congrats on your 250th!

    Nik-nik

    Hi Nik!

I was just about to post my update and was thinking that I was missing your witty repartee!

Opened the browser and BAM! here you are! Now the week can begin!  2.gif

I thought that you were gone on vacation or something... Anyhow good to see you!

Now on topic, It was quite easy in fact for this sector, the appartment buildings are Marrast's, please see the links section at the top for more info.

Sometimes I do buldoze, but has you say, it's quite a chore and I tend to try to find some workaround then.

hehehe.... I was just trying to find some funny "exotic" names for the old ladies when I thought that german food would probably do the trick, I know I had fun looking out to find them!

How are the kids these days, still eating your budget away??? 2.gif

My friend it's always a pleasure reading you, wishing you a great week!

    Regards to your family!

    -John

"If God wanted us to fly, he would have given us tickets."

    -Mel Brooks

    That concludes it for today!

Have a great week, and see you friday!
