Good one neighbor!

The permanent camping ground is a very original idea, the meeting room as well.

I don't know if people are focused during meetings with a view like that?!

Nice use of PEG's trails, they fit perfectly into this area. That is the strange thing.

When we looking to pic.16 we can see dirt tracks, power plants, construction vehicles on  a dirt field, air base, etc. But the overlook is clean and very hi-tech. Amazing! marvelously done!

Another INCREDIBLE update my friend!

Keep up the good work!

ok, ok, Don't be angry on me 15.gif I just wanted to get a passport, so I could live in Anduin Valley 15.gif

22.gif yeah, well... I'm the best polish simcity 4 player.. But since i'm not polish, I'm not the best...

And I have to say I like the last update, it's really nice ! Good work D#1 !! Oh, and could you make me an avatar just like yours, but instead of a "D" on the cap, ycould you make an "S" over there, and in the background instead of "DRMK" write "SloPPeT" ?? If yes, I would be really happy, ( 4.gif ), and if not, I will never post here again! ( 15.gif ) .

Looking forward for the next update , o mighty Darmok! 22.gif

Wow, great updates John!

( 18.gif if I me be as bold as Philscafe to use your first name).

Not a lot to comment. Although one question how do the researchers get from the airport to the various industries, campsite or even their homes? I do not see a taxi stand nor a bus stand and the parking is not nearly large enough to accomadate for all those company cars.

Nice to see you use that substation and those powerlines (HV Transmission LineSubstation by jestarr). They are very realistic although they do not transport power I believe.

I also use subgrav's power transformers to make the plants look a bit more realistic (I have never seen a plant without one https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?page=15&cat=Utility

That Teflon plant is nice. I must have missed it at Stex, can you show me the way to it?

Question: why do you not press CTRL when laying down industry zones?

Final comment (yes, I managed to find a flaw!). Hardun coal. Where does the coal come from? I do not see a seaport large enough to bring in the coals and no overland connections are yet in place (soon to be probably). Or is it only a Nightclub nowadays (for those scientists that do not want to go to the campfire every night)?

Take care !

Nik-Nik

Brilliant!

Update 6 was amazing my friend!  Really nice work!

Your conversion to the PEG road mod is most interesting, I considered that for a while.  It looks very nice in your cities!

You filled that space perfectly!  Great stuff.

Camping site looks very realistic by the way, I wouldn't mind going camping there myself, looks much better than the place I hiked at!  18.gif It was pretty much desert though!

Cheers mate!

Well, Darmok, things are getting more crowded...

Let's just say I like what you've done so far in the first five pictures, but why do you have those dirt streets on? It doesn't suit this area very well: switch back, would ya? 3.gif

Ah, you're using the substation.... looks good.

Typical of the hippies *cough* researchers to live in the forest: definitely very dedicated of them, isn't it?

But hey, everything's looking good. I wonder when we'll see the next city... 3.gif

Hey John.

I love the contrast between HT research facilities and that natural environment. It's a beautiful working environment. The camping ground looks amazing. Great update my friend.

A propos des mises-à-jour d'Acorn Creek: I have started to work on the city again. But after the small break I suddenly realised that I'm not happy with some of the parts I've already done. So I have started to change some small details... and ended up rebuilding large parts of Westside District. As soon as I'm done with that, there'll certainly be an update. But it depends on my schedule, when this will take place.

Btw, I always enjoy reading your answers.

Take care and have a great weekend.

- Phil

This is the last update for the energy sector, next week we'll begin the NUMA sector - Dragon Base

Jacky (jacqulina) - CJ: "Just wanted to show you my terraforming"

Hi Jacky, thanks for your support!

    Take care

    Nik-nik TWICE

Hey Nik, I was wondering if you had disappeared from the face of this earth!!!

Or maybe one of the quantum rift that can sometimes develop in Shadow_Assassin's CJ have swallowed you?  18.gif

So as you cannot even start to make apologies, please don't. No need to you know, I would be a very ungratefull person if I required apologies from one of my most regular poster here!

Take the time to look, cause I want your regular and unbeatable eagle eyed comment telling me where I forgot something!

BTW we were talking of you the other day at supper, we were wondering at the quantity of food our son could ingest (I should say we were in AWE!) and I told my wife, poor Nik, It'll cost him an arm and a leg when his 3 children will be teenagers at roughly the same time! I'm telling you, invest!  18.gif

But seriously, I wonder how Jason, (Aldara) can manage with 6!...

    Take care my friend!

    SECOND POST

I knew you would find some details! And of course you may use my name!

Well, Tolfalas have a carpool service, more ecological that way!

Hey thanks for the link to that other substation, I'll download it ASAP!

Here's the linkk for the teflon lot : Teflon Research Div V2 by hillbillytycoon

HAH! the coal plant! There's a very easy explanation!

**mumbling to self--just give me a friggin minute there! and I'll find something---*** 47.gif

AH YES! There's a coal mine in the basement! (are you buying that? cause if you do by it, I have a bridge to sell in Brooklyn very nice structure, you could make a fortune!)

    Take care my friend! 2.gif

    MS (magpieshooter) - Kinata Region

    Hehehe...

First, I think I'll save this message as a reservoir of positive comments! It'll certainly help me doing comments in your great Kinata region!

As for the other part of your message.... WOW!

I'm really flattered here! Inventing words for AVR!

I don't recall seeing this here before...

**Speaking to someone in the background... What?.... no no no, he's not THAT dangerous.... no no no I'm telling you, he's an Aussie... yep they're as nuts as we are...****

Sorry 'bout that just someone who needed information. Where was I???

Oh yeah, Inventing words, well thanks for that!

Nice houses will be coming in the next sector, you'll be able to chose the one you like.

Seriously, thanks for the very nice words MS, they're really appreciated!

    Take care

    GMT - Greater Columbia River

    Hi GMT,

Thanks, when I started this particular sector I thought that it would be easy to find several "scientific" buildings.... not finding a lot of them, I then tried to use some "regular" industrial one for that purpose.

    Anyhow, doesn't look so bad!

    Take care

    Oroen - Downingsford MSA

Well I could say the same about me visiting your Downingsford CJ oroen, I should visit more, if only I had 48 hours per day it would help!  18.gif

Really good to hear from you man, take care!

    ThomasAH - Valentinovsk&Liberty by eggie99 & ThomasAH

    Thanks Thomas!

    Tot ziens!

    Tracker - Graph X Services

Hey Tracker, well that's what I was thinking about that arboriculis workers, I was looking at the empty space wondering what I could place there that would be a nice addition for the forest scientists, and then thought "why not let them live under the tent!" that was it, this is a perfect example of what I meant when I said that very often I don't plan every details, I really just "wing" it!

    Thanks!

    Mightygoose - Newville

    Hi MG

I don't take it in a bad way rest assured!  2.gif

I believe that I'm perhaps a tad on the "detail crazy" side...

But my doctor told me I'm almost cured now  46.gif

Seriously, when I was a kid I made an awful lot of model cars, planes and boat, and loved to paint every detail with a toothpick! So I guess I just transposed that behavior to SC4  2.gif

    Take care

    Szarkoz

    Hey szarkoz,

Thanks for your comments! And I would be interested in seeing you cities! If you don't want to create a CJ, you could post some pics of your cities in the Show us your accomplishments thread.

    Take care!

Battlecat - Terra - An evolving region

    Hi Battlecat,

Thanks, and yes they are very dedicated!

    Take care!

Bernhard (Nardo) - Urland a (mostly) rural coastline

    Hey Bernhard,

I do agree about the lack of grey poles in the game. But these are great looking, and they can go OVER roads and lots! As for the camping grounds, see my answer to Tracker, sometimes I just don't know where these ideas are comming from!

Take care my friend and enjoy your weekend!

    Bow River Valley

Hi Phil, how's it going! Is Bow River Valley on a hiatus, or will we have the pleasure of new updates soon?

Thanks for your compliments man! I'm just havin' fun with the game.

As for the camping grounds it's simply PEG'S Campsite, I think it's part of the MTP Pack, cause I can't find it on the stex by that name! I'll keep looking. IF someone else has the answer that would be great!

Sorry that I can't help you more for now  15.gif

    Take care

    Threestooges

This is not a very big scientific compound, so the number of research facilities goes accordingly. And I did not want a big complex, just something different and inviting. As for why I put some lots in such and such locations, I don't even know myself! as I said to Tracker I really do wing it very often, just brain storming all the time I guess! I'm in graphic design so it just go with the territory! WINK The downside is being a not very disciplined or focused person!  18.gif

Always good to read you TS, take care.

Rooker1 - Xania a tour of my world

    Hey Rooker,

What can I say, I like the added challenge to build on hills and trying to keep a natural look at the same time, sometimes it's good, sometimes.... mehhh... Like they say in sports "Win some, loose some!". But anyway, the fun is not the end result, it's getting there! Well... I must say that the end result is also satisfying  2.gif

    Take care!

    Pinchman

    Salut Pinchman,

As for staying focused in a reuion, I hope they're better than me! I can't stay focused for more than a few minutes in a meeting, the mind's always wandering away thinking of anything BUT the meeting (boring thing meetings, if you ask me!). And more so when you have such a view I'll admit!

    See you!

    Salutations à ta famille!

    Take care!

    Sloppet

hehehe, not angry at all my friend! And if memory serves me right you already had your passport a long time ago, you were one of the first to receive it.

As for the avatar, just look at the bottom of the post, I've attached an file for you, in that zip file you will find two animated gifs for you. If you like them just choose the one you want. I made it slightly different so it suit's you more than my regular one. Hoping you'll like it.

    Take care my friend

    wouanagaine - Genesus

Well it does take time, but who's counting! I'm not a big TV watcher, so when I'm not reading, I'm playing SC4 or CIV 4.

    Thanks for your good support!

    take care

    Bat

    Hi bat,

    Thanks!

P.S. In Jeroni's Simtropia the other day, your answer "Nice Bot" made me laugh out loud! That was a good one, short but very good!

    AHA

Hi AHA, Welcome to Anduin Valley,

Always good to see new faces, thanks for taking the time to stop by!

    Take care

    Choco (Chocolatemax285) - Green Depra

    Hey choco!

Glad you liked the camping grounds, just another wacky idea!

As for the dirt roads, I just wanted an "unfinished look" like they're still in the building process on the island. And besides they put all their moey on the facilities themselves!

    Take care!

Dan - La Plaisance County (Best little County South of Canada!) Hey Dan! Great too see you! I followed the link in your sig and went to look at your band's web site! Impressive! I like the design, very clean and professional with kind of an "underground" feel! I like the name you chose for the band, and I see a parallel between the music and SC4, when you play either one, you do indeed "exit reality"! How many times are we seeing comments about RLS!

Well I wont keep you long, I hope you have the time to relax my friend, don't drive yourself to the ground.

    Take care.

thatmonkeysim – Wood County - Rebirth

    Hey TMS,

Wow, I'm being showered with great adjectives on this update... not sure I earn all this... but I like it anyways! LOL

The dome is one of the many great Mrbisonm lots, it's Nexis Science Center by mrbisonm

    Hoping this'll help you

    Take care

    ElmarO

    Hi ElmarO

    Thanks!

    S_A_ (Shadow_Assassin) - The Savannah Way

Hey mate, see my answer to Chocolatemax for the dirt road choice. The only thing I don't like about them is that you cant keep them dirt, would be great to have a dirt road tool so the STAY dirt whatever you plop or grow alongside. BTW I'm using your new cycleways in Anôrien, just love them! the gradual curves are really great looking, and the use of a transparent texture is a stroke of genius!

As for the hippies, I'll remind you that I was part of that era!  18.gif Had my hairs down to the shoulders and all! Cut them when I resumed my hockey playing though! Long hair and a helmet don't mix very well!

Next city after Tolfalas should be Bruinen Fjord. (Already completed) It's the tile just south of Anfalas.

But before that we have two more sectors in Tolfalas. The NUMA installation "Dragon Base", and a small residential sector.

    See you in Savannah!

    Take care

P.S. I've put an extra pic at the end to show some of your excellent Cycleways V.2 in action! Thanks for those!

Slann - Viceroyalty of Dominea: Valmont

Hey Slan, I guess that the fact I've worked some 8 years as a forest ranger shows a bit!  2.gif

By now everyone noticed I'm kind of partial to trees! Yep page 87! who would have believed!

Thanks for your great support Slann, to stay in context, let's say that each comment is like a new tree in my forest! 19.gif

    Take care

    Going2Chicago

Hehehe, I know the feeling, sometimes I go to bed because my head drops on the keyboard! And then I realize "What! it can't be THAT late!"

    Thanks G2C, take care!

    Phil (PhilsCafe) - Acorn Creek

    Bonjour Phil,

That is what I had in mind, (the general idea), I wanted a research facility, but NOT something too "bricks and mortar" if you get my drift. As for the camping grounds, as I've said to Tracker, sometimes the ideas just come by, that particular bit was not planned, just a fluke!

Glad to hear that you didn't abandoned Acorn Creek! And I understand you dilemma, the other day I was looking at Minas Tirith, and wondering what it would look like if I was to redo the whole city or at least, some part of it. It really is an never ending business!

And BTW I can say the same about your posts!

Enjoy your weekend as well my friend.

    Take care!

And now the last update for the energy sector, next one we will begin the construction of the NUMA base

    zzanorienteaserzz8aq.jpg

People this is incredible, page 87! I really don't know what to say but to thank you all for your very kind support and comments! I would never have believed that when I begun AVR over a year ago... one year! wow, just incredible...

Anyways I'm always pleased to read each and everyone comments, they are now a part of my days and I even look at my CJ before reading the morning paper!

Looking forward to read you all again!

    See you!

    In the meantime

Take care and enjoy life 10.gif

so you play civ 4 aye well good stuff, that library is looking great i see what you mean, i hate it when the fences don't conform to the terrain and stick out all funny, but can i just ask what is being built opposite the police station(i use that one too) in the big construction site...? but anyway great stuff, keep up the amazing work

Hi Darmok, my disappearance was either an encounter with a transdimensional rift in search of my furniture (see Savannah Way CJ) or a serious case of RL (booooooring!!!).

Either way, I am back indeed.

Saving my Ass off (sorry for the expression) indeed, got hardly cash to spend today. Well, I am talking RL again. Spank ME!!!

Thank you for the link. I 've downloaded it right away ! 29.gif

    Great update.

Great library disappointing that the statue is facing the quet part instead of more towards the rest of the town. I would have turned the library 90 degrees at least or even 180.

So a library for the scientists has to be moved to a more quiter part so at the noisier part a hospital can be built  !?! 41.gif42.gif41.gif42.gif  Logic the Darmok way? 31.gif (although looking at it more closely you turned the hospital in such a way that the noise is probably bearable; the car park and the police station block a great deal of the noise. Good thinking).

The fences look great. A small side effect of the dirt roads is the placement of curfews; a close look at the hospital shows a single piece of curfew in front of the fences. Silly! (sorry I am being a pain in the you know where again).

The SA cyclepaths are just spectacular. Great down hill racing possibilities!

    (great homes BTW).

    Herewith I endeth this message.

    Have a great weekend !   17.gif

I prefer the Avatar in a non-animated way, it's better tht way, but I don't say i'll not use those two! Thanks ma friend! Just wait to see my new CJ, coming out Summer 2k6 ! MAN your pics in the last update are totally insane!! 22.gif

    Hi John!

What a strange coincidence ... you can see Porkissimo's great library and police station in my recent update, too, even though in a different environment. Or maybe not a coincidence sicne they are absolutely great BATs with any doubts!

Hey this fenced walkway at the library and hoispital (second version) look great! Especially at the hospital together with the lake - must be rather a joy to go out there for a walk! And fresh air shall increase recovery - but then again two incinerators so close ...

    Have nice weekend my friend!

Whoah! This CJ is cool! I assume it's based on the Gondorian region in LOTR? If so, that's fantastic! You could put like the slum area on the slopes of Mt. Doom, but if your not extending your region that far...all is still good.

Well, it took me ages to reply to this one, as I needed to find words to describe the last pic. 3.gif

But anyways, long story short: everything looks great. It's a shame about the fences, though, wouldn't Cycledogg's fences look better there? 3.gif

The library looks good, it should be facing the other way, though. The statue is usually in the front. (convention, you see? 3.gif) Unless that section was fenced off and made more private with a few conveniently-placed hedges. 3.gif

The cycleways look simply wonderful, Darmok. As Nik-nik said, brilliant downhill racing possibilities. 3.gif You might need to fix that kink in the hill though. Or it turns into hard-core mountain biking. 18.gif

Without your support, we just would not be in our 24th year online!  You really help make this a great community. *:thumb:

But we still need your support to stay online. If you're able to, please consider a donation to help us stay up and running. This helps sustain a platform where we can share our community creations for years to come.

By way of a "Thank You" gift, we'd like to send you our STEX Collector's DVD. It's some of the best buildings, lots, maps and mods collected for you over the years. Check out the STEX Collections for more info.

Each donation helps keep Simtropolis online, open and free!
