Gah, so they temporarily removed the HTML links? They should be working OK in the Rich Text Editor. [i have it enabled by default, and it works wonderfully]

But if you ever try to do mosaics, it always puts in line breaks *shakes fist*.

Anyways, Tolfalas is shaping out wonderfully. Love the new beach texture. Seriously, it fits in so well with the Cycledogg terrain mod.

Grey: No, just, no!

Brown: Fits better. Looks good as well.

03: The port looks wonderful, but a bit on the small side. Is there a reason for this?

04-06: Control Tower looks simply beautiful there, it's very scenic.

07: Love the small overview. I thought you changed your road mod to Euro?

08, 09: The Crate Factory would be nice if it was er, acquired by Savannah. 3.gif Nah, jk. It fits beautifully there. May I ask where you got that from?

10: The Intermodal Depot looks good there. You can't see the rail texture against the beach. Brilliant.

11: Now, the overview looks good. Ah, I wonder what you've got in store for us next time in AVR.

Your cities do indeed get better every city you start. Could be the plugins, but nah. 3.gif

Wow, great second update.

What beach mod is it that you use to get the brown texture? I like to use it too.

So you decide that you are OK with the brown texture....then you put a parking lot and a crating facility on it. Gone is the brown texture. What's the point of the whole exercise?

I do like the facility and your photoshopped avatar looks great on it.!!

One detail (of course) how long is that yellow car standing in that corner parking place at the tower. So long that a tree can grow through its hood? (see picture) 5.gif

    Bat

    Thanks Bat!

    Sloppet

Hehehe..... well I guess I'll have to live with that! 2.gif

Thanks for your always good and original support sloppet!

    Take care

    szarkoz

I just wanted a color that would give a "dirt" feeling to it, and that was the closest to what I wanted. And it grew on me, so I believe that I'll stick with it for a while!

I used PEG pines sporadically throughout Anduin Valley, but not much, I do love the look, but I think that they are a tad too "bright" if they would be toned down just a bit they would be perfect (IMO).

    Take care!

    threestooges

Thanks! As for a direct link to the tower, at first that's what I wanted, though the implementation of such an idea was cutting too much usable space on the seaport section so I decide to have a separate access and to view those things as two separate entities, the only thing I would add, (and I may just do it in the following days!) would be stairs from the tower to the seaport, so the workers can have a fast access.

    See you!

Rooker1 - Xania a tour of my world

Hey Rooker, well... as far as the beach color is concerned, I chose the brownish tint because I wanted a dirt like texture under the trees near the intermodal depot, and I knew that I would put parking lots over the rest of the seaport so I ended up having the best of both worlds anyway. But it's always a question of personal preference in the end.

The ferry terminal is Zeon Carferry By Nob by Craigsters

The control tower is not from SimGoober though, It's a Jeronij's BAT

Maritime Transit Control Tower by jeronij -

The "T" piece you mentioned, is not yet available on the STEX, it's a lot made by Dan (Dhoppeii) that I've been testing, I don't know if he will upload it or not to the STEX.

Always good to read your comments my friend, take care!

    Pika (Pikatchoum) - San-Esteban

Thanks Pika, as I said before the whole thing was inspired by a lot that Chris, (Dragon Anime) gave me. So when you have a general idea of where you're going with the whole city, or, setup in that particular case, it's easier.

    Take care!

    storm991

    Welcome to Anduin Valley, storm991.

I'm not French, I'm Canadian and speak english and french

As for the seaport, I guess that any major city needs one, it's a necessary evil... As for this particular setup, it's not that big because it's more a point of entry for the neavy material that has to come to the island. And you'll see in the following updates, that this is NOT a big place. More on this later.

Again welcome, and do come back anytime you want!

Smirkazor - River Basin: The region where anything could happen

Hey smirkazor, long time no see!

For the photoshop tutorials I could suggest those two links -

    Photoshop Support .com

    OR

    Planet Photoshop

Begin with those, and for more just Google "photoshop" +"tutorial" and you'll find a TON (really) of good sites to help you, the Photoshop professional community is VERY active AND sharing. I'm sure you'll find everything you need and then some!

For the seaport bats, go on the stex and search with Jeronij's name he have several great seaport lots and bats, and go to the Massive Japanese bat thread in Simtropolis, the japanese BAT designers have made a TON of great seaport BATS.

    Take care!

    Cassandra - Cassey - Naural

Hi Cassandra, glad you appreciate, saw you CJ, looks really promising!

    See you there!

    MS (magpieshooter) - Kinata Region

Yep, simple photoshop trick, I'm WAY better with Photoshop than with the BAT tool!  18.gif

Thanks for your support MS, See you in Kinata!

David (dedgren) - Three Rivers Region

    Hi David,

I appreciate the fact that you consider AVR your first stop!

Down to business, the rock mod is : Peg's Limestone. found in PEG ROCK MOD 1 by pegasus

and I agree it's the one with the less visible repetitive patterns, though depending of the height of the slope, sometime you can detect one.

The small bushes and stones on the tower setup slopes, comes from PEG, if I remember correctly they are Clearing with a transparent base, or something like that.

I've used Marrast seawalls in Belfalas a while ago, they are great looking but more to be used inside a city limit, like when doing canals or something like the Thames river in London or the Seine in Paris, I don't picture them well in an industrial or "hard work" district. Again personal preferences I guess!

Point well taken about some track eye candy pieces. Not sure I'll redo that sector, but I'm sure I'll use something similar in future setups!

Always a pleasure to read you David, hoping you'll get more free time in the following weeks for your own CJ, looking forward for more!

    Take care

    jmjselect

It has a certain military look, but it's not what I have in mind, I just wanted some "Hard-Sci_Fi and Techno" look. This Island will mostly be for scientific research so...

    Thanks for your comments!

    Cjah - Callisto

    Hey Cjah,

Glad you liked it! And that ferry terminal is such a versatile BAT, you can use it in heavy industries, or Hi tech or military!

    thanks for the visit!

    S_A_ (Shadow_Assassin) - The Savannah Way

Well.. I guess we'll have to adjust with the changes in the text editor!

I wanted a dirt look instead of white for the beach mod, so this color was the only choice in that respect.

The small size of the seaport is more or less related to the fact that this is a very small island, and.... well... you'll se why in the following updates for the other island sectors.

Good eye for the road mod, for this city only, I've used PEG dirt street mod, wanted to try it, and thought that it would be a good opportunity to do so here!

The CRAF is this: Nexis Packing Industries Ltd by mrbisonm

    Take care!

    eggie99

Hi Eggie99, Welcome to Anduin Valley!

Thanks for those very kind words, and the welcoming to page 84!!

    GMT

Hey GMT, that thing is The Zeon Carferry By Nob by Craigsters see the link in the answer to Rooker1

    Take care!

    Nik-nik

Hehehe, you don't miss anything do you!

That yellow car, a mini-van to be precise, is a new model, it's an EcoCar, park long enough in one spot and a tree will grow to give keep it (your car), in the shade. Thus protecting your precious paint job! (You buy that???)  2.gif

The brown texture was mostly chosen so the trees near the intermodal depot would not be on a white background, I wanted kind of a dirt texture. That beach mod is part of this beach pack : Beach Modd by teirusu -

    Goin2Chicago

    Thanks man! glad you appreciate!

    Battlecat

Thanks Battlecat, but in fact this is only a very small port, more utilitarian than commercial in it's nature.

    See you!

Jacky - CJ: "Just wanted to show you my terraforming"

Thanks Jacky,  glad I could help with the Zion Ferry terminal. It's really a "one of a kind" lot!

    Enjoy the Easter weekend!

    Jeroni - Simtropia

    Hola Jeroni,

Nice of you to drop by for a visit, it's always a genuine pleasure to see and read you!

As for your "A Coruna tower", how can one miss to put it in a good light! It's such a great BAT!

I really appreciate your compliment about the presentation, I try to make it pleasant to read.

I know how much your time is scarce amigo, and thus so, I appreciate each one of your comment even more.

Warmest regards too you and your family my friend!

Notice that this is a SMALL update, next one should be around 12 to 15 pics though, so to make it up to you, I'll also post a (small) mosaic of Anôrien, the city I'm working on right now.

    So for now here's

    Salut voisin!

I know I didn't post for a while but man! you're so quick! You had time to finish Tolfalas before I send any comment.

Again, brillant job. I really like the result.

Those small area are the toughest to manage...well for me...but so fun to create. Not only you did a perfect layout but  you also used a good variety of element. Nice seawalls, Control and Watch Tower, Containers System, Hotel, Bar and a lot of nice small details. Perfect in every ways!

OMG!  Anôrien is very promising! Looking foward for more!

Take care Gromit! (tellement dommage ce qu'il est arrivé à ta courge).

    -Incredible Pinchman

P.S. Where did you find those dirt tracks with fences and what's the field rigth after the banana one? Thanks in advance neighbor.

Well, Darmok, it may be a small update, but it looks wonderful.

01: Good choice for the hotel. It seems that Tolfalas is complete after this is done...

02: Indeed they do. Looks wonderful. Everything just flows together brilliantly. You're getting better and better at this, Darmok [and it was excellent to start off with!].

03: I can see the details here. It looks wonderful [where'd you get that hotel - thanks for the crate packaging link, btw 2.gif].

04: The Black Hole Bar, eh? Seems they do love their physics - the trick is not to draw attention to it before the universe notices something's wrong.

05: Looks good, there. I assume the control tower is to watch out for fires [look at how many trees there are...!]

06: Now, a schoolbus parked like that on the intersection... no way. I expect Anduin Valley Police will fine that driver.

    07: I swear you've shown that piccie in 02. 3.gif

Anorien looks wonderful. I love the banana farms. Come to think of it, where'd you get those trail fences? I'd love them for another CJ that's in the works. It looks so different to what you've shown us in Anduin Valley of late. A very nice contrast.

    Cheers,

nice little update. in the third and fourth picture i noticed something that made me laugh. the flag at the fire sation is like turned around i guess. i'm not really sure how to say it but if you look at it you'll understand what i'm saying. lol.

in picture four you can also get a good view of the really cool elevators on the side of the hotel that are actuall outside of it rather than in it.

the watering "black" hole looks like a nice place to get a drink. good name for it although i'm not sure if theres some hidden meaning behind it. lol.

the preview mosaic of Anorien looks fantastic! the farms are perfect and the irrigation canals are great. i was wondering were you got the those filler pieces that are along the diagonal road in the top left hand corner of the mosaic.

i cna't wait for the next update!

I cannot believeI missed the last update ....

Interesting choice of color - the grey looked like someone lost some truck loads of concrete there ... Nice work with the view platforms and the parking lots!  Interesting story about the cargo terminal but I must confess I REALLY thought there would be a nice railwayline leading to the harbour ...

And a really nice work with the avatar anyway!

Interesting place for the hotel but isn't it a bit far away from everything except the harbour and some nature?

My favourite one is the old control tower with the lonely windmill, great composition!

    Take care my friend!

Simply put: very well done. Beyond that, nice choice of placing that windmill where it is on that hill, it looks like it would get a good breeze coming up that hill. It looks like there may have been a bit of a fender-bender in the bottom right corner of the hotel parking lot (03), and I enjoy science myself, and almost laughed out loud at the name of the bar (yes I am a nerd). The farm scene from Anôrien is incredibly beautiful. I have seen the irrigation canals but had never seen them in action, you make them look superb. Always waiting for more.

Wow, so much detail in such a little area! Those seasonal trees sure do look good. I wonder what those people are thinking about that hotel being next to them? haha.

The preview is very promising. It seems like farms are always so peaceful and pleasant to look at. Great job!

Hi Darmok! Nice new update! I like that hotel there. What bat is the lecture hall? I like how it looks. 1.gif Preview of Anorien is sweeet! Don't you think the name "Anorien" is great? I think it's a good choice to make farmlands there. They "match" with that name, "Anorien" reminds me some peaceful and quiet lands. I'm looking forward to next updates as always! 48.gif

Hey John, I'm sorry for not being around recently, but as you probably know I've been hiking for the past seven days!  But its great to be back for a fresh few updates of Anduin Valley.

I love that hotel, it looks great!  Nice lecture hall too, very interesting design.  As usual your design and layout is spot on!  The old control tower is a very nice touch and definately adds a sence of history in the Tolfalas area.  That sector overall looks very cool and very high-tech!  The perfect place for scientists.

That mosaic is just lovely!  The irrigation is both realistic and very beautiful, now I must download them! 18.gif The flowers and are a very nice detail, and I really like the look of that banana (?) farm in the corner.  The huge version is incredibly impressive!  Wow, it really looks great!  It looks like such a real countryside, Anôrien looks amazing, I can't wait to see more of it!

Great stuff as usual, and a brilliant update to come back to, I must look over your past updates right away! 44.gif

    Cheers, choco.
