No problem at all, in fact you were paying attention, but my picture did not illustrate well what I wanted to say. Thanks for advice about the transit related mod (The edited part of your post), when I read that I realized I had installed new locomotives and cars from the Trolca train thread, I removed them all, and now all is ok! I'll try to put them back in ONE at a time and test, this way I'll know which one to avoid. Thanks again. 44.gif

    Pinchman
    Salutations Pinchman!
    Glad to help.
As for your image, I guess your problem may be browser related, which one are you using? Explorer, Firefox, Mozilla? To make my updates I always use Explorer, because of the rich text support, and it's also easier to insert pictures with it. Otherwise I always use Firefox, using it since it was called Firebird! If you can't post it through the CJ, you can also open an account there
    http://www.imageshack.us/
it's a free image hosting site, most of my pics now are hosted there. It's fast reliable and easy. Once you upload the image to the site just copy the direct link (the last one in the list) and put that url in your post here, this way I'll be able to access your pic!

I follow Wallace and Gromit since The wrong trousers. Now I have the first three movies, and there's a new one coming out this fall! I'ts called Curse of the Were-Rabbit. 47.gif

As for the moon, well... I won't tell..., 20.gif I want it all for myself! It's MINE!!! ALL MINE!!! MUUHA HA HA 11.gif

    Take care.

    Hi there Darmok!

Because I'm (sic), and I have a fever, I need some good medicine. And as I remember here I can get Maggot syrop (or something like this...) so I hope after this I'll feel better... sorry for my english, but Idon't feel so well know, and I might write some stupid sounding things... *sloppet thinks* .. Hmm, so what did I want here... *sloppet thinks once again* Ah yes, great update Darmok!! The final shot isn't so good, but the rest pics are great *sloppet is tired...* 48.gif

First, it's good to hear that you found the culprit that made the transit buildings green. Finding bugs can be a nightmare and I know this too well from my RL work. I'm glad I could help out.

Second, great work on Emyn Arnen. I have been sitting here looking at the final shot and wondering why I like it. I guess it's the realistic look of the area, the way you built an excellent industrial area and the way you have put in the farms without spoiling the hilly terrain. I would say that the mountain farming experiment was a successful one.

Now I'm looking forward to finally see Osgiliath after all the things I have heard about it.

Great update! I really love that overview! And when I see how you wresteled that little farm with the windmill in 12_13 between the road and hill I could get a little bit envious ... 31.gif

Seens to be you got a not too small portion of a rural builder by now ...!!! 19.gif2.gif

    Great work!!!

    Hey John, great update.....as always.....

I love the pipeline area and the dirty industry portion of the city and I see more use of the industrial alley ways.  Always a nice touch.

The Tourist Tower is a really interesting addition.  I am sure that the view is stunning, let's just hope the food is good.  BTW, do they serve any of Maggot's brew up there?

Perhaps, you can show us how you connect one of those street pieces to the plant?  I like how the  pipeline seems to feed into the plant underground.

Ahhh, more farming rewards....The farms are looking really great, but if you keep that up, you're gonna make me look bad2.gif

Wonderful parting shot.  Very nice balance of development and open spaces.  It looks great my friend.

Look amazing! The market, tower and industrial all look awsome, but what I really liked the most was the zoomed out view. Those farms in the mountains, they look awesome!

    Keep up the great work!

    Hey Darmok,
Awesome Update! Once again, excellent industry areas. I love the use of the RSO pipes, they look so cool along each other like that. I love the tourist attraction, and especially that intersection by it, that's really a heavy transition, speeding freeway to a avenue to another intersection, I love it! The last shot was very nice, I'll miss Emyn Arnen. 19.gif

Hi Sloppet, sure hope that Magott's syrup will help! 2.gif and thanks for your constant support! By the way you can find the link for the asphalt mod on page 47, in my last post in the answer to kanella. Hope this'll help you!
    Now go take your medicine!
    Take care

    Sandra
Probably that one of the boxcars, or trains that I've downloaded, conflicted with some other lot. I still have to find the culprit. Because I removed the whole folder containing the new trains. Now I'll have to go one by one.
I really appreciate your analysis of the work I've done in Emyn Arnen, and as much as the mountain farming was new to me, I'm glad it turned out ok. I surely had fun working those hills.
I hope that you'll like Osgiliath tough, so far, it's not my favorite. I've just begun the second half of the city now.
Thanks for your comments Sandra, and have a good weekend!

    Pinchman
Hi Pinchman, glad to see you were able to post your pic!
I can tell you right of the bat, (pun intended 18.gif) that some of them ARE in-game lots, I'll be back with more links soon.

The farm in front of the mayor's house is a BSC reward, or plopable lot, I'll have to query it tonight to give you a correct answer on this one.

And if you like the technical shot, prepare yourself, cause in the first stages of Osgiliath you'll se a lot of them.

So I'll do my best to give you the answers as soon as I can.

    Bonne fin de semaine, voisin!

Thanks Jacky, and have a great weekend! 44.gif

The parking lots, are in fact Peg industrial alleys. Those alleys really add some realistic touches to the game! Yeah that particular tower has a nice weathered look!
Thanks for your always kind comment Pika!

    Nardo
    Guten tag Nardo,
I really have a lot of fun with the mountain farming, but I think that you do not have to be envious of my farming skills, you, Dan and Jeroni are the best in that area as far as I'm concerned. But I do like it a lot, as I've already said it's probably the most, how shall I put it, freeform zoning and rulefree (sic) kind of setup. And I intend to have a few more rural zone done before the end of Anduin Valley.

Gute wochenende mein freund und mach's gut!
PS: I hope my german is not too bad! 34.gif

    Dan
    I'm sure they have the whole Magott's product's line, how doesn't? 2.gif
The connection to the plant was done with what I had at the time, which was, a tarmac tile  that I plopped near the wal of the plant, then a TE entrance T lot that connected the tarmac tile, the street and part of a parking lot that is part of the original incinerator lot. Though I want to return there, I try to make a new connection with your tiles, (btw did you receive my PM about the first tests I made? I think I was kind of really tired that particular night... 14.gif&nbsp2.gif. And as to make you look bad, that'll be the day!

As for the parting shot, I plan to do a really big picture of the whole city as soon as I can.

Have a great weekend buddy. 44.gif

    Hi Dakmok!
I just found that the last bat on my picture is actually the Stock Exchange Reward.
Also, I think that the first one (with the red brick roof) and the industrial one (silver boxes) are in-game bats, but i'm not sure. It's because I never saw them in my cities...maybe with little patience, who knows! (I'm a low-rise guy!...too much maybe).

For the links, please, take your time. (C'est d

    Darmok,

Looks like I've managed to miss two updates now, so here goes:
Those pipelines in 12_01 thru _03 make that industrial area.  I never got into the pipeline lots, but perhaps I need to rethink that. 2.gif  The pictures of the markets and the overview of Emyn Arnen are just fantastic.  And finally, too, the peek of Osgiliath's terrain is quite the teaser.  Can't wait to see the developed product.

    Looks great.

I work for the US Army. I go places, visit mean people, and kill them.

    John,

First off, I want to appologize as I have done with several others.  I want to appologize for not getting in on the last few updates.  I actually haven't gotten in on many updates for anybody lately.  I've been sick, and I have only had the energy to go to my recertification classes for work and go to work itself.  Blah...I feel like crap.  Every year, right around when fall starts and when spring starts I get a really, REALLY bad sinus infection that just wipes me out.  Yuck... 14.gif

Now...with that out of the way...let's talk about Emyn Arnen.

I really like how you finished with this city.  Very strong.  I like your mix of Residential, Commercial and Industrial.  You don't have too much of one and not enough of another.  You also have a good mix of services with balances it all out.  I really like how at the end you tied the industrial alleys in with the area...nice touch.  Oh, and thanks for the pic you were showing me...I understand just what you are talking about.  I usually end up trying to use Jeroni's trails with the transit enabled entrance.  I only had one reservation for the area, I would have like to have seen more shipping related and some high-tech industrial in there.  If there were there, I guess I missed them.

Finally, your choice for the next city...Osgiliath...I like the terraforming there.  It really looks like you'll be able to challenge yourself while still making the whole area look great.

Great work man... keep em coming... 44.gif

    HUGE Mosaic.

Hi folks, I experimented in making very big mosaics this weekend.
So I present you a HUGE! picture of Emyn Arnen, this picture is made of 37 1600X1200 pixels taken at zoom 4, the original Photoshop file is over 100Mb size, (the first draft was 326Mb!)

So be forewarned that if you click on the picture you'll be redirected to the BIG one (5,5 mb).

    and Some answers

    Alek
Yeah, the whole map is very challenging, at least for me that is. And we may thank Cycle dog for it's great mod!

    Sloppet
    Thanks!

    Pinchman (twice)
Links should come shortly. And don't worry about the orcs!

    Sorchin
Glad to hear you'll be doing a CJ! And the first Osgiliath update should either monday or tuesday.

    Toxicpiano
I don't know about the average price, I'll contact Re-Max and tell you later.

    Meinhosen
Hey moeinhosen, well the pipeline lots, are fun to work with, very flexible, you can do practicaly anything you want with them!

And if you liked the global overview, the one above is VERY detailled! (though very big)

    Jason
No apologies necessary my friend, and as for your sinus problem, I'm sure that Dan would be kind enough to share some Magott's medicine with you. 2.gif

And to connect the incinerator to the road the problem was that the entrance was not lined up with the center of a tile, so I couldn't use Jeroni's trail.

Thanks for the visit Jason, and do take care of your health!

    Till the next update
    Take care

    Hello Darmok!

First of all: Nice german!!! 48.gif

Second: You warned your posters, but I was crazy enough to do it and I clicked. After an eternity it came. 31.gif

WOW!!!!! My pc got almost a heartattack by the thought I could think about doing something like this! 14.gif

I had a lot of joy to find all these places from the last update - but I found also something I don't like: Why does everybody turns nice highways into poor avenues to have an intersection with another avenue / road? 20.gif
    WITH TRAFFIC LIGHTS!!! 28.gif

I mean, for highways they invented onramps, cloverleafs etc ... 49.gif

My weekend is almost over now .. have a good time!!!

(and of course I am waiting for your next one!!!!)
