Hey D.  Not much time today, but I had to comment.  First off, as always, thanks for the tech shots.....You now how much I enjoy those.  I like how you kept the cruise port separated by that ridge....Looks great.  The park trails all through the area are a fantastic touch and the ruins especially the part that crosses the avenue is great.  Oh, and I really like the look out tower with the steps leading up to it.  Fantastic stuff my friend.  Enjoy the week.

    Regards,

    D

    Hey Darmok,

RLS hit me yesterday, or cleaning for that matter. 24.gifHehe...tourist traps, good idea I think it is nice to see tourist traps in the summer like they should be seen. I like the terraforming for the coast. I love the hills. Once again trails, ahh we love the trails, they look great also. I love the way you use the trails in such a diverse way.

    KOSC
Thanks man, glad you liked it, as for the port, there's a new one on the stex now and I think I'll try it next time around.

    sc4frk
Thanks sc4frk. Glad you like it.

    D.
Even a short comment is appreciated from the Boss of La Plaisance. 2.gif

I can't help it, I like the tech shots too. We said it before, it's the best way to learn from one another! 19.gif

Yeah the ridge, it was a remnant of the big bridge I've initialy build in Norht Cair Andros if you remember, I was about to level it, but kept it I don't know why thinking that perhaps it could serve later. And when I decided to put the port I was glad I did.

Thanks for your welcome to page 30, do you believe that, 30... 47.gifand you're comming strong with already 19 pages! And you were not sure to start a CJ, well I'm sure that a lot of lurkers and readers are glad you did! 44.gif

I'm sure I'll have a good week even if the weather's crappy!

    Have a good one!

The cruise line and tourist traps are looking great. Your use of the castle walls and pine trails combined are amazing, and as usual, your use of the tarmac and white trails are unrivalled, except perhaps by the Creator himself. Keep it up!

Wow!  This update was just...Wow! 29.gif

I love the port area...one question, is that some sort of walkway along the sea walls? 42.gif

And your park looks great...I couldn't have done better myself! 2.gif9.gif17.gif

But, one question...jeronij's trails look different for you than me...did you edit them in LE?  Or is there an update set I don't know about yet? 42.gif

The update is awesome...  keep em coming! 44.gif

    Shadow_Assassin
    Hey S_A
Thanks! Any house you see can be yours! But as I said before if I would be you I'd wait for Dol Amroth, I think it'll worth it. 10.gif

    aldara6166
    Hey Al,
nope no walkway on the seawalls 20.gif it's the regular set by Jero, same thing with Jeroni's trails, I'm not sure he updated them. 42.gif
Thanks for the comments, your support is always appreciated! and as for the update, here it comes!

As usual pics uploaded a few at a time (sorry about that!) Finished!

    Update 11
Cruise Line and Tourist traps (part two)

So, to keep the tourists a bit longer in Anfalas, the City Council, decided to add some touristic accommodations.

Here's the proposed sector, notice that the pub and the little museum have been demolished to make place to more adequate buildings.

    anf_up_11_01.jpg

Buildings with more flair and elegance are built, including a very posh shopping center!

    anf_up_11_02.jpg

Even a non-denomination temple has been built to give the tourist a place to meditate.

    anf_up_11_03.jpg

    anf_up_11_04.jpg

An overview so far, and in the designated zone, a lighthouse will be added for the tourists benefit.

    anf_up_11_05.jpg

Here you can see the completed Lighthouse project.

    anf_up_11_06.jpg

    anf_up_11_07.jpg

    anf_up_11_08.jpg

    A city overview

    anf_up_11_09.jpg

To replace the little pub, a museum on the History of Anduin Valley is built. With an adjoining fountain.

    anf_up_11_10.jpg

The addition of a theater is another piece of the tourism effort puzzle!

    anf_up_11_11.jpg

Another visit from our friend the whale

     anf_up_11_12.jpg

An overview with two new souvenir shops on the avenue

    anf_up_11_13.jpg

And some night shots to finish this update

    anf_up_11_14.jpg

    anf_up_11_15.jpg

    anf_up_11_16.jpg

So that's it for the tourists traps!
    Hope you liked it!

Next one should be... let me see.. hummmm.
Oh I got it, Residential an educational!

I'm not good at finishing lines! But I'll give it another try!
Thanks to all, lurkers, readers, posters, commentators, critics, viewers and of course citizens and friends! 44.gif44.gif

    Till next time

    Take care

    Hi Ma8thew!

While I was posting, I was thinking of doing it! Though would be hard right now, being on my lunch break! 2.gif But in this case I think I'll do just that tonight and post an updated pic with the new Lighthouse, that's one of the disadvantage to have a 2 to 3 weeks advance on the updates!

I was thinking of trying the PEG Screw Pile Lighthouse. We'll see if it comes up OK!

    Thanks for your suggestion!

What a nice clean layout! Looks like a great place to live! Great job on the sloping of bridges and road grades. More gamers need to improve on this. Way too many 30-40% grades out there in CJ land. Your port is amazing. Thanks for the inspiration.

    DragonAnime
Thanks Dragon, glad to see you like Anfalas, and as I said to Shadow, there is no problem for any of the Anduin Valley Citizens to choose a house in Anfalas, though I think that Dol Amroth will be a bit more upscale! As for the lighthouse perhaps I'll upgrade it to Peg Lighthouse, either Caisson style or the new one! Screw Pile Lighthouse

    See ya in Palm point!

    KOSC
    Hey KOSC!
Thanks my man! I just tried to be tourists friendly that's all! Usually people on cruise ships have a shipload 2.gif of money to spend, so great names as Cartier Louis Vuitton Gucci or Rolex always are a good bet!
    Welcome tourists!

    Take care!

Hey D....How ya doin?  Hopefully well.  Well, I have a little more time today so let's take a look.

You know I like when you highlight the intended area of development....I really like the next three pics....Very European looking.  I don't recall seeing development of this type in AV before.  Looks Great...

The lighthouse is perfectly place on that point....Do you know which rock mod you have installed?

Woah.....pic 11_10, you replaced the pub with a museum....em hello...2.gif  Well, it is an interesting little lot....Looks cool.

Love the little theater in pic 11_11, but I feel sorry for the business to the right of the theater.  However do they get into their parking lot2.gif

Hey, looks like you are gonna need to install more whale watching towers....16.gif

I really like the night shots especially the last one.  The big building on the left there has some fantastic night lights.

Another fantastic update....Looking forward to the next.

    Take Care My Friend,

    Wow...simply awesome as usual.

Your use of the Quatre Saisons with the Paris buildings really catches the eye. It looks really nice, as one would expect...

Replacing the pub with a museum was interesting, and it worked out really well. The fountain is definitely a nice touch!

And, all the new shops, and the lighthouse, and all previous tourist traps are looking good as well.

    Keep it up buddy!

    RHF

P.S. Congrats pikatchoum on your citizenship? Join me for a cup of java at my house in North Cair Andros!

    Pikatchoum
You're welcome pika, you earned it!
I hope that you'll like the rest of Anduin Valley Story!

Bienvenue parmi les citoyens de Anduin Valley!

    D.
    Doing fine man doing fine!
I really like those Parisian buildings they have a real elegant and historical look!

The lighthouse, well, see below I tried something else yesterday, I usually don't do this, but Peg made several good looking lighthouses AFTER Anfalas was built and I wanted to see how it would look! I think I'll work on that concept a little more, I have a few other ideas! 37.gif

The rock mod is  PEG ROCK MOD II Weathered Granite

18.gif You seem to find the museum a bit odd. I thought it would have that particular quaint look that a histrory museum might have, so this way it attracts the tourist attention! But I guess I wouldn't live in it! (BTW the architectural inspiration comes from Gaudi's work, if I remember correctly the description file).

And you call me Eagle Eye! Thanks for pointing it out I'll fix the parking entrance problem!

Never saw so much whales than in Anfalas! I guess they like the seaport!

And yes the Quatre Saisons building is really striking at night!

    Have a great week!

    RHF
Thanks man, if we want the tourist business we have to put some good attractions hey!

Glad you liked the little museum, I think that besides using it as such there wouldn't be much other uses for it! And I wanted to use it.

And thanks for making pika welcome by your invitation, you certainly deserve that P.R. Guy Title!

    aasim45
Thanks aasim, for someone who didn't know what to say that was pretty well done! Glad you appreciated it!
