Looks like those Lions can be pesky too.

lol I have an answer for you GreekMan: Turner, Norv - Head Coach.

Thank god the Cowboys won today, I honestly did not think we would. It was phenomenal effort by the defense which limited the Bucs to 3 field goals which won the game for us. Even more impressive was that our personel in the coverage unit was filled with rookies due to injuries; our starting cbs Anthony Henry and Terrence Newmen, strong safety Roy Williams, and -suspended- Adam Jones all were out.

My interpretation of the results from the defense is that Wade Phillips was significantly more aggressive with the play calling on defense, sending a wide variety of blitzes that kept the Bucs quarterback Jeff Garcia under enormous pressure the entire game which kept him off balance and deprived him of any opportunities to look down the field for the big play.

PS: Brad Johnson still sucks...

The defence looked good made that good stand at the end of the game

serioulsy we needed this win, if we had not won we  would have been out of it.

Anthony Henry and Terrence Newmen are so over rated I wont miss them, every game  one of them gets burned a couple times. I wont miss Williams or  Pac Idiot jones either.

i well look at last year. The chargers were 1-3 and go on to the AFC championship game. i think the defence is the problem. Without Meriman, the defense falls apart

I don't understand it. One week the Bolts are fine the next they fall apart.

happy about dem cowboys eh?

Anthony Henry is an average journeyman cornerback who cashed in on a Jerry Jones spending spree and Terrence Newmen is a decent corner who should never have recieved the massive contract he got this past offseason. Seriously, Alan Ball, the 7th round pick from last year looked far better than Henry did in coverage. I dont know about you, but when I think of Henry, what comes to my mind is one of countless replays of Henry getting burned by a reciever and Roy Williams trailing in the background. I think over-rated is an adequate description 2.gif

GreekMan, the Chargers, like the Cowboys 15.gif , are playing waaay below expectations, but you are right that they reached the AFC Championship game last year. They still are only like 1.5 games out of first aren't they, which gives them a legitimate chance to make the playoffs.

Speaking of the playoffs, how are everyone's preseason picks doing so far as we have reached the seasons midway point for most teams.

Patriots Vs. Colts of course 3.gif

The AFC only has one great rivalry. NFC is littered with them. But this is it for the AFC.

and i guess there is steelers ravens, and pats jets, but those two suck compared to Pats Colts because it is so young yet so well developed.

not at all. There is no chargers colts rivalry no matter what way you spin it, and this is a very small "familiarity" between the pats and chargers, but the hole rivalry feeling isnt there.

bull*****...as long as there is a manning and a brady and a belichick, there is a rivalry. If Brady is done for life though...then id say its kinda dying.

Quite annoying that the Pats were the better team the whole game yet they lose because of a) Gaffney dropping a friggen wide open 40 yard TD, right through his hands b) a few plays later, having only their second penalty in like 9 quarters knock them back 15 yards and out of field goal range...

anyway, this game does a ton as far as the patriots/fans confidence. The defense can hang with a great offense, and vice versa. Of course, against the colts, offense is our defense 3.gif

Redskins-Steelers: Outcome Could Swing 2008 Presidential Election

Most media and experts consider certain states like Florida, Ohio, North Carolina, Colorado, Missouri and New Mexico to swing the election in favor of one candidate. However, the outcome of the Washington Redskins football games before the election seems to have an effect.

Since the 1940 Presidential Election, if the Redskins win their last game before the election, the party that won the popular vote last election wins the current one. If the Redskins lose, then the party that lost the popular vote wins the election.

Tonight the Redskins (6-2) host the Pittsburgh Steelers (5-2). In the 2004 Election, the Republican Incumbent George W. Bush won the popular vote. Therefore, McCain Supporters will be cheering for the Redskins and Obama Supporters the Steelers. . . .  quote>

I forgot all about this.   It used to go:

if the Washington Redskins have lost their last home game prior to the election, the incumbent party has lost the White House.  When they have won, the incumbent has stayed in power. quote>

That was true from 1940 until 2004.  2004 was a bit weird so they reworded it.

Either way, I can hear Duke saying "correlation does not mean causation".

If anyone changes their vote based on the outcome of this game, they deserve to lose their right to vote.  18.gif

We can inspire others through witness so that one grows together in communicating. But the worst thing of all is religious proselytism, which paralyzes: “I am talking with you in order to persuade you.” No. Each person dialogues, starting with his and her own identity. The church grows by attraction, not proselytizing.    - Pope Francis

es better coach 3.gif

cowboys have a very good football coach but a bad people coach. hes not good at controlling the locker room and uniting the team and whatnot. They have amazing players but no focus and they aren't really united. the Dolphins, although nowhere near as talented, are playing as a unit and play for eachother.

And where did Tony Sparano, head coach of the Dolphins, come from? ...Dallas...of course...

Remember how good the offensive line was for the Cowboys last year and how bad it is this year? Well last year Tony Sparano coached it, this year he is coaching those Dolphins.

Remember how explosive the offense was last year and how anemic it is this year? Well last year year Tony Sparano was heavily involved with the offense and the playcalling, this year he is heavily involved with the Dolphins explosive, productive offense that has half the talent of the Cowboys offense.

There is a pattern here...

...and I think Jason Garret was the wrong young assistant coach to annoint the head-coach-in-waiting
