Ooooh... excelente.

The colors are much better now. They remind me of ST 3.0, which I liked a lot more then 4.0, at least color-wise.

BTW - anyone notice a similarity to the EA April Fool's Site?

On 1 April 2004, Dirk redid the site to look like EA had taken over Simtropolis and merged it with the Sims forum. People were outraged, and I think there may be 1 or 2 bad apples that STILL havent gotten over it, almost 2 years later

We didnt have april fools in 2005, as far as I know..

Ive just spent hours and hours making a new avatar again. How frustrating. I just discovered how you can change the colors from depressing brown/green to a nice blue, in the profile, so I feel a little better about the new look. Hard to get used to still.

Some comments on the new forums:

-This forum is lightning fast now! Loving the speed boost; search works properly as well

-Along with Makollig Jezfahted I don't like the Sub-forums being hidden

-It seems like there are less posts on a page now? Don't like that.

-And I'm loving the XML feature: seems like it could be useful.

This is the 'simtropolis' style, so I'd say it's not likely that we're getting silver one back. Besides, there's already themes that resemble the old forum.

When I first logged in I thought it was pretty brutal, but I must say it's definitaly grown on me. It reminds me a bit of the yellow red and black Simtropolis somehow.

The fact that Microsoft made their OS look like a fisher-price perschool toy is bad enough, but now my favorite site looks like a fisher-price preschool toy too? *shudders* The speed is wonderful, though I would think that would be due to the hardware upgrade... I REALLY hope the theme changes, or this is only temporary, or something, because I really don't like the way the site looks. I have spent months changing my Windows XP to look like Mac OS X, just because I hated the way it looked sooo much. I just recently finished it up. Now Simtropolis 5.0 in all its Windows XP 2001 glory is staring back at me laughing. ______________________________ Perhaps I do sound ungrateful, and I truely do appreciate everything Dirk has done, I just can't stand the way the site is currently layed out. I haven't checked out the color changer yet, I will do that now. I do love the speed improvments, and the pop up style reply window is quite nice, as are the RSS feeds - I just wish it didn't look so Windows XP-ish. _____________________________________ P.S. I really like the new fourm, how you can change the site color, and it looks better. But what I miss is the color changing of text and how you can have only 1 smiley in your reply. Besides that, the site looks better and I like how you can have your "Private" fourm. (If every member gets one or if thats for special members)

Yeah, you can change a lot about how the site is set up- you can change the theme, number of posts per page, time, the layout of the forums and more. Very handy and customizable!

Well you've got a default topic view option which will kind of change some things with the way the forums are layed out
