Here is the second half of the update!

Now that we have seen the recently built attractions in the area, lets take a look at the new city of Edensburg itself!

    p613jn.jpg

Like most older towns, Edensburg has 2 main streets. The city hall also has a prominent spot at the end of one of these main streets.

    p717bh.jpg

Here is downtown Edensburg. It has a surprisingly large downtown for a satellite city so close to the main downtown, probably due to the fact that there are so many touristy attractions.

    p817eh.jpg

Around the downtown area, small shops and stores line the streets. They cater to the mainly out-of-towners that shop here.

    p910ak.jpg

Here is the Edenburg's old cemetery.

    p1019bj.jpg

Here is a more zoomed out shot of downtown.

    p1116sg.jpg

Edensburg also has an industrial sector. Many years ago, during the gold rush, this area was filled with refining and mine equipment repair factories. Today, the area has been cleaned up and is now a lead contributor in the electronics industry.

    p1211xf.jpg

This is a zoomed out view of the main streets. You might notice that the suburbs near the center of downtown are gridded. This is because these predate WWII.

    p15r8dd.jpg

Finally, here is a region shot. Circled in red is the area we just visited.

    Comments Welcome and Appreciated! 1.gif

Yes, another great update by MayorTim! I love the sattelitecity!

It looks like you got rid of the demand problem, wich is great!

Good luck with the rest of the region! 40.gif40.gif40.gif40.gif40.gif

Yay, Klondike Delta is back on track! Edensburg looks great, satellite towns are a realistic part of suburbs and you've perfected the concept. Great job!

I like the way the development is sprawling out in that last regional picture. I can say now, this CJ is becoming one of the better ones out there. The one suggestion I have (I know another suggestion 10.gif) is to connect Edensburg with outside of the city a little bit. Maybe make an avenue going east or maybe south to the refinery area. It's becoming more or less of a city of its own which is a really good thing. I don't have the time to post on this site that much anymore so I only reply in CJs that are important. I can only update my CJ and post in a few other CJs that I really feel the need to. This is one of those special CJs and its becoming one of the best out there in this new string of realistic regions. I can also see that your regional population is 566,398. That's only several hundred less than my region (Mines at 567,067). Just thought I'd point weird coincidence out. 3.gif

So again, this CJ is getting to be one of the best and its keeping me interested. Keep up the great work here. I'll check back for more updates.

    Thanks for the comments everyone!

jasperdeman: Thanks, but unfortunately I am still suffering from my demand problems. This is the first area I got any results in, and I am going to take similar measures in other suffering parts of the region.
RHF: Thanks! Glad you like it!
    KOSC: Thanks!
Comdude: First of all, I am glad that I am one of your special cjs! That area with all the trees between the oil refinery and Edensburg is very mountainous, but I have plans for a belt highway that will go straight through the area you mentioned very soon.

Again, thanks for the comments, and keep them comming! 2.gif

very realistic city, great job, i love the way that the city looks realistic in the way it spreads out.  One piece of criticism, down town for a city of that size the amount of skyscrapers is unrealistic.  Other than that great job!!!!!29.gif

KOSC: Congrats on the 400th post!
Iknowu: You could mean one of two things here. You either think that this is KingofSimCity's city, which it is not, or you are telling him that his city in another journal looks good which is spam. Either way, 20.gif!
tinnyboy_gummi: I said it once, I will say it again! I know that downtown is too large right now, but that is because this city is a work in progress. It will continue to expand, and will look more and more realistic with each new expansion.

Thanks for the interest in my journal guys!

Here is a little 1 pic update.

    p14ii.jpg

You probably don't recognize this area, but this is where the ugly solar farm was located several pages back! I couldn't think of anything to do with this area, so I dug out the center of it and made a marina. It also features a high dollar appartment complex and some up-scale stores, so I called it the Corkrane Community.

    Comments Welcome!

What would you guys like to see more of next? I'm open for ideas (though I do reserve myself the right to tweak or postpone your ideas.)

Lets say that voting begins tonight, ends Wednesday, and at that time I will pick my favorite and carry it out to the fullest extent of my abilities. 1.gif

MayorTim, this just keeps getting better and better. I don't have much to say, cause I am kind of lost in the pictures. When I find myself again, I will make sure to give you some major props for this one.

BTW, what is the name of those concrete seawalls you have in the image above? I want to get them, and if you could post the name of the lot here, I can go search for them on the STEX. Thanks in advance.

I'll continue to monitor this CJ. Excellent work, nay, SUPERB work.

    Your region is great MayorTim!

I especially like the airport out in the middle of the river.  The way you did it is perfect.
Your suburbs are also very good.
One of my favorite pictures so far was of downtown Klondike City at night on page 1.
