If I might suggest, for dessert, the Strawberries Romanoff. This is strawberries marinated in Grand Marnier, then served in a creme made from softened vanilla ice cream and whipped cream in a chilled bowl nested in ice. Grand Marnier is sprinkled over the top.

EDIT: And then there are those who ignore the ingredients except the strawberries and just drink the marinade.

and thanksgiving dinner sucked. My nazi uncle and his friends were all excited that they get to blame indians for something (even though the kid who smashed the door is whiter than me) and my grandpa spend the whole evening in his trailer. When my uncle did go out to get him, he snuck around to the front, and pretended to sleep on the couch.

 

My grandma goes through all that trouble to make a dinner, and everyone ruins it.

 

Is that TV show deal still up?

There are some good beaches by the Sault, including a 2 or 3 or so mile white sand beach (best on Lake Superior). I've been there before. best to swim in december when the lake is it's warmest temperature of the year, 5 degrees!

vid, I don't think any beach compares with this one on the great lakes. 14Km of nice sand, shallow water out for at least 100 metres, warm for the most part (although frozen in the winter). While Huron doesn't freeze, Nottawasaga Bay does along the shore line since it is so shallow.

We try not to think of the Sault as being part of our environment.

I was chartering on Gichee Gumee a few years ago out of Madeline Island, WI, and our anchor set check diver, in a wet suit, came up blue. I don't think that lake ever really warms up.

@ MsD: Thanks. Retired? Welcome to the club. I have been really retired for over two years now. I just supply a little IT support to my neighbor, who is almost computer literate. Good neighbor, the kind you hope for but hardly ever get. He looks after my dogs when we are away, so I guess its an even trade. As for love, if you ever really find it, hang on to it with both arms. I was 50 when I found my own true love.
