The metal ball then flies up into space and goes into orbit around the earth as a new, wet moon about half the size of Pluto.*

    The Myon ships are long gone.

    Left wing = Liberal; Right wing = Conservative. We liberals tend to be anti-war, pro-gay (well, some of us, at least... 3.gif), environmentallistic, educationalistic, etc. Conservatives are more focused on budget issues and the economy.

    @simmax: Yeah, I suppose you're right.

    @sloppet: I know it isn't funny. I'm not laughing. If you can't stand not to put such things in your profile, at least make it less... Disturbing.

    I find myself economically permissive, and a social moderate. As much as I love the envrionment, there's not much point to loving the Earth if we can't support ourselves. But maybe that's because some countries are too permissive, a la India. Or maybe it's affluenza.

    A repsect point to anybody who can tell me what affluenza is.

    Hehehe.... 4.gif

    I'm not that right wing. 21.gif I'm more centrist. But whatever.

    I'm fiscally conservative and socially liberal, closer to authoritarian than libertarian. A gentil, lenient dictator if you will.

    Affluenza is someone that'll do prety much anything for money or wealth and doesnt care what they did to get it. I know a few people like that. 21.gif Personally I don't care too much about getting money or accumulating wealth, I just want what I need, and don't want to waste what I have. That's why I don't have an MP3 Player, and only buy chips on Friday. 4.gif

    Affluenza could also be inflammation of the affluence gland. It gets sick easy. Gotta rub your money spot to make it feel better. 4.gif

    @All: At dinner tonight I was trying to have a conversation with my Mother (she is 89) and was asking her what she thought of all the demonstrations over the illegal imagrants in our country. Like the 500,000 in L.A. the other day. After concluding that there was no easy answer she asked me, What about the other border? Me: You mean the Canadian border? (real bright, after all how many borders do we have)  She: Ya. 17.gif I assured her that I thought we were safe on that front and that I didnt think that there was a mass exodus to this side to take part in our great medical system and scintillating politics.

    Cracked me up, good thing she saw the humor of it after she thought about it for a moment.

    @N_O_Body: Thanks for boiled peanuts.

    Have a good night/day (what ever it is, where ever you mught be) all.

    @vid: 18.gif But I still don't like the way you're biased against us environmentallists.

    @sloppet: Fine, then. But it still seems odd.

    Oh yeah, here's something I found on Dumb.com:

    In Bent Forks, Ill., kidnapers of ice-cube magnate Worth Bohnke sent a photograph of their captive to Bohnke's family. Bohnke was seen holding up a newspaper. It was not that day's edition and, in fact, bore a prominent headline relating to Nixon's trip to China. This was pointed out to the kidnapers in a subsequent phone call. They responded by sending a new photograph showing an up-to-date newspaper. Bohnke, however, did not appear in the picture. When this, too, was refused, the kidnapers became peevish and insisted that a photograph be sent to them showing all the people over at Bohnke's house holding different issues of _Success_ magazine. They provided a mailing address and were immediately apprehended. They later admitted to FBI agents they did not understand the principle involved in the photograph/newspaper concept. "We thought it was just some kind of tradition," said one. Educators agree that such mix-ups point to poor reasoning and comprehension skills, ignorance of current events, and failure to complete work in the time allotted.

Yeah, we put vinegar on 'chips' for flavour. The chips I meant was potato chips, (crisps) not fries. I don't have the money for them any other time of the week. They're so expensive. Though I did have enough today to have some for lunch... My friend calls them 'loneliness tablets'.

    Vid: The first part of your definition is generally correct. However, I doubt there's a "money spot", unless that's the feeling in my fingers when I get my paycheck. So, N_O_Body, do you know any good recipes with potatos and peppers (preferably cooked)? Skink000, although I would say your definition is correct, I'm just sitting wondering if anyone is going to ever going use your definition of affluenza at anyhting other than a leftist political rally.

    @Leech10: Left wing = socialist (Democrats); Right wing = conservative (Republicans).  Extremeism in both camps ::= Left: Joe Stalin;  Right: Adolf Hitler

    @brancra:  Take a cut up cooked potato, add some frozen pepper strips and a chopped up scallion.  Fry in your favouite oil or butter until nice, and have breakfast.  Goes will with coffee or hot chocolate.  I suppose you could use finely diced potato (raw) in place of the rice in a stuffed pepper.  I tend to use peppers a condiments in cooking rather than something principal.

    The democrats aren't really socialists. Or really left for that matter.

    Only one democrat from Wisconsin voted against the Patriot Act, even though a good sum of americans were against it.  There basically right of center, or moderate liberals on occasion. Maybe if they acted like a real opposition party.

    But whatever. All political parties screw it up or go corrupt someway or another. We elect them to replace a past corrupt party, then they do the same. It just keeps repeating itself over and over and over.
    But I'm an idiot too.

    Ya brancra I can be cynical and have plenty of reasons, none of which can be posted on this forum. Life is way to short to let cynicisms get you down so I intend them all with a good measure of humor. Those who cant handle my cynical humor need to lighten up and remember that I laugh hardest at my self.

    For Right wingers, you will need to look in different places. Try Kings or relgious figures; there have been some really bad folks in the history of Christianity.

    Nazi = National Socialist

    Radical Right Wingers are a different creature than Radical Lefties; so you will have to look differently for them.

    So...  To all hereins, a toast! *Drinks Rum* Cheers!

    "Nazi = National Socialist"

    They used that name to get votes from the left wing voters. It was a right wing agenda hidden byhind a left wing banner. Kinda like Bush. he's quite liberal, especially economically, but claimes to be conservative.

    Politically speaking, I'm a centrist (but slightly to the right) populist, closer to hitler than stalin or ghandi. Weird, eh? Still moderate though. More liberal than Bush, but less libertarian.

    nonetheless; the style of social engineering the Nazis did was distinctly leftwing.

    As for me, I'm far too Conservative and Liberatarian to be near Bush. But I'm also a strong Christian as he is. I still hold to my argument that Hitler was a left winger. But that's really beside the point, actually. We just use the Stalin/Hitler thing because they were enemies. We oddly assume that people who are similar politically must be allies. But we know it isn't true.

    Some people see the scale of politics going from Authoritarian on the left to Liberatarian on the right. Wild, huh?

    As for the politics scale thing:

    Socially:                   50 (right)

    Economically:          80 (right)

    Attitude:                     0 (I find both sides annoy me)

    So we might not agree on politics, but we definitely agree on politicians =)

    The main reason I'm not more socially conservative is that I have a wide liberatarian streak which makes me believe in the importance of privacy.

    Hitler was right wing. At least socially anyways. He's hard to define.

    Stalin is the wierd one. Extreme Left wing economically, but socially he would place near Hitler. (A communist that ruled like a facist).

    Most left wingers hate hitler more then right-wingers. We had a "Nazi" in one of our classes, he scored overwelmingly right wing. Militarism, racism, etc. Not that communists are much better.

    But there are some liberals that act like a facist too. 22.gif

    Politics is messed. We're all different from each other. Which is why it is hard to label someone to a group.

    Thanks for the tips N_O_Body.

    So, to start another topic, how about that immigration reform bill in the United states. Harbouring illegal aliens could soon be a felony. IU would imagine in largely Hispeanic areas, this is a major issue. But we do need illegals. As much as I hat to admit it, they take the low-wage, low-dignity jobs that most Americans don't want. Agree or disagree?
