interesting development you got there. BTW to get the slope mod o work, all you have to do is drag a new road over it, not destory and relay. Also, which slope mod are u using? the BRF one?
Give us some new shots of your newly built up city.

Good start.  A little too gridy for me, but to each their own, right?  I find the slope mod very helpful.  I think it makes things a little more realistic.  There are a few slope mods you can try and see which one works best for you.  I have a few of the links in my Cj for my favourite slope mods.  Keep on trying and keep up the great work!

Hello all. I got a good update for ya...

Remember how Ridge was a quiet place? Well not anymore...
I will tell you a bit later....

Right now... Lets see the residential area...

This was before the disaster...
Due to Ridge's location, right by a chain of volcanic mountians, may experience an earthquake here and there. However the citizens of Ridge never knew that they would be the first people to be hit with the most powerful quake that Ridge has ever seen...

It was a bright yet partly cloudy afternoon. The citizens of Ridge going out their lives. Oblivious of what is going to happen to them...

At 12:59 on 7/4/2045 a magnitude 7.9 earthquake struck Ridge..

This disaster scarred the face of this town forever....

This is the worst natural disaster that Ridge has ever seen.. The floods have nothing on how bad the town is torn apart...

The damage is extensive and widespread.. Many citizens are missing or dead...

A whole town torn apart in a matter of seconds....

As you all can see the highway is badly damaged. This prevents rescue operations from happening...
As 50% of the helicopters are destroyed... And the others are not ready for flight yet or are busy..

Rememeber the peaceful residential area? Well... Here it is... Those buildings are ready to fall... There are still many people in those buildings... Yet they have no way on getting out... All they can do is hope that the building stays up until they can get out..

10 minutes later, a news helicopter attempts a small rescue and catches the worst site of the building falling on top of the other smaller buildings... The news helicopter could only get 1 person off the roof......

The earthquake also ruptured several gas pipes..

Many fires also have broken out over the part of Ridge.. Many buildings that wern't destroyed by the quake were set ablaze by gas pipe leaks....

About 1 hour after the earthquake started, the first rescue helicopter was sent... The total number of survivors that were found was only 314 out of the estimated 10,374 people on that side of Ridge...

Many citizens are belived to be dead.. More rescue operations will be held the next day at first light in order to find more people... The mayor of Ridge has shut down the bridges going to and from That area due to them being unsafe.. And you know that historical bridge? Well, it has collapsed...

This is by far the worst anyone has seen. Ridge's neighbor, Mt. Osaka is closer to an active volcano...They have yet to see the full fury of nature...

The mayor of Mt. Osaka is aiding in rescue by sending military and more rescue vehicles over...

Ridge is lucky in a way... The damage could have been MUCH worse.. Ridge was let off...

However, the remaining people that have not been found have been pronounced dead. Hope rescue can find more survivors in time...

Well thats it... I hope you enjoyed this... I know its a bit long.  Don't worry though... After the rescue operations are done and clean up will begin!

Next update: The culprit of the earthquake/clean up begins and start to rebuild....

@zelgadis: Yea i will post some close ups of the other parts of my city while i rebuild. If i didn't this CJ would die. I have a lot of work to do..

@ALL: I think i surprised you with the earthquake then the actual sims... lol

Ok, you got me hook line and sinker with that earthquake. I grew up in southern Cal and am very interested in earthquakes and volcanos after experiancing one major and two moderate tremblors.

I curious though, what type of fault triggered this massive quake? Is it a slip-fault like the San Andreas, or a subduction zone like the one that caused the quake in Sumatra? If it's the latter, then I would have my geologists keep a close eye on that volcano nearby. You just never know how much heat was generated, and the amount of gases forced up, when the one tectonic plate slid under the other.

Anyways, I look forward to seeing how Ridge's residents pick up the pieces and rebuild their city.

Who would have thought the city would be struck by a disaster such as an earthquake. I personally like the lightning & Twisters. They completely demolish everything in their paths. SWWEEETTNEESSS! Anyways, I shall bookmark this and wait for more. PE@CE

I have some bad news.... I tried to open Ridge tonight and it crashed... I believe the city file has been damaged or something... I Cant update this CJ anymore... However, I made a new city tile, and the city is called New Ridge, I want to keep Ridge alive. Even though New Ridge will never be the same as old Ridge..
