What is your favorite comic strip?

The funny pages in the paper are no longer exclusively for the kids anymore.  Most of them are aimed at the teens of the nation, while others fill in several niches.  So anyway, what is your favorite comic strip? (comic books such as superman do not count!)

Mine is probably Foxtrot

Gary Larson used to write this funny little strip called 'FarSide.'  Also he grew tired of writing and has since quit.

I now enjoy 'Foxtrot,' 'One Big Happy,' and 'Zits.'

I like "For Better or Worse". Miss the FarSide strip. When I was deployed (in the Navy)a friend's mom clipped this cartoon and sent it to us everyweek. Long time ago, it was.

I like "Shoe," mainly because the main character reminds me of me; sits at work and does nothing.

But I also enjoy "Boondocks" and "Doonesbury"

I forgot all about "Get Fuzzy." It's not in the local paper since I moved. I really miss that one.

Oh, yeah... That one is funny too.  Also, some of my other favorites are Monty, Garfield, good 'ol Calvin and Hobbes
(it sucked when the author stopped making that strip),Rubes and Bizarro.

I have to say, "Get Fuzzy" is, by far, my favorite. It used to be Calvin and Hobbes, but since the last of that series, Get Fuzzy has filled the void. I have a siamese cat who pretty much mirrors Bucky, and that just makes it all the funnier. 9.gif

Man...I really miss the strip Calvin and Hobbes...I wish the author would start writing it again.  It was highly controversial, though...

I have three favorites:  Calvin and Hobbes, Dilbert, and The Far Side.

Calvin and Hobbes always made me laugh, to really get Dilbert, you'd have had to work in an office (which I have for several years), and The Far Side was just...well...The Far Side (I ***LOVED*** it, was ashame to see it go).

My favorites...hmmmmmm. So many comics I read out there that I also like.

Well, here are my top five.
I'll start and say one that has already been mentioned, Foxtrot. Funny stuff.

Second, I'd say Mutts. True, more cute then funny, but still, I like it.

Third, Sherman's Lagoon. Hmmm. Seem to like these animal comics.

Fourth, Calvin and Hobbes. Great while it lasted.

And finally, Mallard Fillmore. Sure, its a political comic strip, but one I enjoy.

Nothing like Good ol Charlie Brown in Peanuts.

Then theres Get Fuzzy, Dilbert (I find it in my business section), Boondocks, La Cucaracha (though a little liberal but what do you expect from the LA Times), Doonesbury, and Heathcliff. All classics

Calvin and Hobbes!  No question about it.
Garfield is the only other comic I read, though -- well, ocasionally when bored at my friend's house I read the Far Side.
I don't care if it's controversial or not, C&H was the best comic strip of all time.
    Bill Watterson was a genius.

A lot of good ones mentioned here. I like Get Fuzzy, Zits, The Far Side, Dilbert. For Better or for Worse (www.fbofw.com) has a place in my heart, it seems the characters were growing up at the same time as I was (and it's set in Canada!).

No one has mentioned Sherman's Lagoon (http://www.slagoon.com/)

Garfield is one of my all time favorites along with snoopy.

“The American city should be a collection of communities where every member has a right to belong. It should be a place where every man feels safe on his streets and in the house of his friends. It should be a place where each individual's dignity and self-respect is strengthened by the respect and affection of his neighbors. It should be a place where each of us can find the satisfaction and warmth which comes from being a member of the community of man. This is what man sought at the dawn of civilization. It is what we seek today.”

Peanuts, Calvin & Hobbes, Far Side and Born Loser. For you Far Side fans...check out www.offthemark.com This guy's style is similar to Gary Larson's.

Dusk Trooper--why is Calvin & Hobbes controversial?
