GoFSH slice n' dice ignores some tiles

Well its been an interesting little diversion.  TheMurderousCricket's discovery can be summarised as follows - I have made some textures, and when I put them on a lot in Lot Editor they show fine, but when I go into the game all I get to see is one of them - they are all the same.

I'm sure someone would have known the answer this after all this time with SC4, but the above has turned out to have a surprising cause. For me was something new and it  took me several hours to pin down what was going on.

The essence of the cause is as follows:

In SC4, Lot Textures that have IIDs of the form ABCD0000 effectively block all other Lot textures in that series (ABCDxxxx) and will display only that 0000 texture in-game, even though the Lot Editor will show the ABCDxxxx textures correctly. This leads to confusion.  MAXIS Lot Textures nearly all have IIDs of this format, so blocking out any other use of these ranges for Lots.

Now I've made many custom Lot Textures, and an example is shown in this image:

Its my Senior Cricket Ground, made several years ago, and has textures in my Range F5E80100-F5E80145 for the field itself. It displays correctly in-game as shown in the top-left half of the image. Today, I made a F5E80000-4 Lot texture (shown here in Reader)

ABCD0002.png.a769f06c644ec68b6b9c08bece18867a.png

and added it to my plugins in a separate dat. The Cricket ground (and all my other custom lots) now shows only that texture (bottom-right) despite not having it in its Lot Config Exemplar or being edited at all. The F5E80000 texture suppresses all other F5E8.... Lot textures. As soon as I remove it (the 0000), the lot displays as it should again.

The lesson to be drawn from this - when making Lot Textures avoid making the 0000-0004 in any ABCD.... range to maximise your use of the range for Lot Textures. The 0000-4s can be used for other things like automata or masks.

Now TMC ran into this problem because he started his experiments with the default IID (ABCD0004) I put in GoFSH Slice'n'Dice.  He has since received a custom range and is now making progress without these problems.  As, inadvertently, I made this possible I will be changing this default to DEADED04  in the next version of GoFSH and writing this behaviour up in the manual. If you have a custom Texture range do not use the 0000-4  for Lots.
