Why no Trixie Awards for the last 7 years?

Well, compared to SC4's heyday, the number of active members/creators is much lower today, as well as the amount of content. Life goes on and many have moved on...

But the the topic of Trixies does come up now and then, so there's always a possibility, no matter how slight. But that's no gaurantee...

We do have an ongoing series of challenges to commemorate the 20th anniversary of SimCity 4, we're now on the last round of these, on the way to reaching the 21st anniversary. Make sure to check the SimCity 4 Challenges Forum, to see if you could participate in any of these!

Ummm...  I don't have SimCity 4, only SimCity 3000 and SimCity 2000.

(By the way, what about the original SimCity?  There was a certain beauty to its simplicity)

@Quelquechosedautre Gonna need to check the anniversary dates for the other SimCity games, and perhaps we could organize contests for those! I would like someone more knowledgeable about them to lead the corresponding challenges, I at least am only familiar with SimCity 4.

If dwindling numbers is your concern, why not have one contest for ALL the SimCity versions, not just design but original ideas as well?

SimCity'3000's design fatures might be limited, but I still think that I am doing OK on it.

Simply SimCity 4 is just the only advanced version that allows you to do both simple and complex challenges. The choice is also judged by the theorical number of people participating and the amount of mods that are available.

In fact, when things normalize on Cities Skylines 2 there are plans to create community challenges for Cities Skylines 2 that will be run temporarily with the SC4 challenges

Perhaps no one has done anything Trixie Awards-worthy in the last 7 years. To me, it's just another accolade I'm sure I'll never get, like the Oscar, Emmy, Heismann, Triple Crown, ambassadorship to Tahiti, etc.

Really, that's interesting given that I wasn't aware of any 'blood' around the forums at that time. So whatever people may have said privately, none of that to my knowledge came to light in the forums? Sounds like rumours and Chinese Whispers to me.

Frankly, that's not how I see things at all, there are a few simple reasons why the Trixies have taken a hiatus. Between RL getting in the way for those who would have to organise it and the sheer lack of activity around SC4, it just hasn't materialised. Honestly, with the current state of things, I can't see it being worth the effort to setup. You know, if only a tiny number of folks make nominations and actually vote, there won't be much variety and then people will start with this kind of BS:

Honestly, no staff members had any say in who was nominated or voted for, but someone always is offended no matter what the outcome. Also I call BS on this rumour, because there were many well deserving members who won in the last Trixies, it wasn't like a handful of modders collected all the accolades.

Seriously, it's almost as if some people just need an excuse to whine everything is unfair, can you imagine why no one would be motivated to put the work in with this kind of attitude floating around?
