Finally, here we go. After a long wait we can finally show you Network Addon Mod 48 to the public and to celebrate this the end of the long wait we have created a gloriadic poster also to celebrate the announcement of a much anticipated game

While SC4E, and then RL, have meant that I have been on leave from NAM development since June, and I've had pretty much zero involvement with NAM 48 since compiling its initial internal build (@Flann has admirably taken on my normal duties in my absence), I would like to remind everyone that the NAM Team does not announce release dates or timelines for release.  The one time we did (NAM 31), it was a disaster that people only forgot because the SC2013 server debacle happened just a few days later.  Additionally, after the negative experiences we had with our last Christmas release (NAM 43 in 2021), it's unlikely we'll do one again.

I'd advise tempering one's expectations with regards to any bearing this livestream event may have on potential release windows for the next NAM release, and also on any notions about what the length of this release cycle means with regards to its feature scope.  This version has had a very protracted development cycle, largely due to external factors (a lot of other NAMites have had similar situations to myself), and those who are actively involved with this cycle are really just trying to give the community a look at what's been in the works, after what has been a very long radio silence.

 Danke für die Arbeit ,aber sehr schwierige Installation, Warum kann man den 4 GB Patsch nicht im im Installations Paket gleich intergrieren, wir finden den Befehl für die intergrierung nirgens im SimCity 4 war früher bei SimCity 4 Kurier alles einfacher trotzdem Danke

Faced a CTD while loading cities. Finally, it was found that the NAM 48 was causing it. I reinstalled the NAM48, now it works fine.

Somehow all the deciduous trees have turned into Brown gift boxes, even when placed in a new & empty city.

If they had appeared before and you're using a tree mod, you may have inadvertantly removed the necessary model files. You might check to see what it may have required.

Prior to NAM 37, the installer did check for the patch. However, that particular installation method began having issues. That was one reason the installation was switched to use java.

If you check the current version's installation instructions or here,  you'll see you can use the Setup .bat file to run the patch routine provided you're on Windows. It will then proceed to the installation routine.

Any have any idea why a lot of the pieces in the NAM are showing as gift boxes or as red green blue mixed tiles? For some reason the images arent loading properly.

Due the nature of how the NAM installer works, it is possible to select feature(s) but not include selections (features) that rely upon other selections.

In this case look at the particular networks causing you problems, likely something related to them was not installed hence the textures are missing.

The solution being a re-install of the NAM with the correct features selected.

A screenshot or details of specific affected pieces would allow us to be more precise as to what is needed.

I kind of assumed that something was off when I installed it. Maybe this screenshot can help if thats what you're saying. The right one is a network widening mod piece (all of those look like this). The left piece that looks like a package is the NDEX modern GLR station. There are tons of pieces that show up looking like these two. I wouldn't be able to give you a comprehensive list.

For me, every time I try to install it, it wants to default to C:\Users\Myname\Desktop\SimCity 4\Plugins\Network Addon Mod.

I cannot for the life of me figure out why it wants to install to the Desktop.  SimCity Deluxe is installed into C:\Program Files (x86)\Maxis\SimCity 4 Deluxe, my documents is on another physical drive at D:\Documents where there is no SimCity folder (as I didn't go past the NAM installer, and have no other plugins).

I'm not completely sure why this is happening, however I can see that the installer uses this code to pick the installation directory:

Essentially it's trying to find your default directory, which would normally be the "Documents" or "My Documents" folder, which is where your SimCity 4/Plugins folder usually resides.  I'm not sure how you went about moving the documents folder, but if you followed a procedure like this https://www.ghacks.net/2010/04/17/how-to-move-the-my-documents-folder-in-windows-7/ or this https://www.digitalcitizen.life/how-change-location-folders-such-documents-or-downloads/ , the Java installer should detect this change.

No hijacking here... Some one came along with another question. It happens if these general help topics... 

Regarding your situation, have you tried re-installing NAM as mentioned above and being careful to select all needed options? From your image, you may need to be sure to select sections 6 (Misc...) and 8 (Textures...). That would be the first thing I would check. If you're not sure about the brown box, you could try clicking on it. That should give the name of the lot.

Awesome thanks. I had all kinds of problems downloading and installing the NAM and don't even remember how I got it to work. I've erased my old NAM and tried to redownload just now and it's keeps telling me download failed. Any general ideas for why it keeps failing?

Have you tried again more recently? I just tried the link on the STEX, and it downloded fine. It does go through ModDB, so maybe there was an issue att he time you tried. You might also try the SC4E download (Link) if it still doesn't work for you..

If the download doesn't work on STEX - SC4E and ModDB then you need to change your internet connection

Or use a downloader that works really well like jDownloader2.  I've found that's necessary sometimes for large files posted on the web.  Many browsers don't like downloading large files and they often fail.  Not with jDownloader2.

I do not know why, but on my Win7 machine the current NAM always forces it to quit to the desktop, yet NAM35 worked fine.

You may have meant to post in the NAM 49 (the current version) topic rather than here. Either way, both are vastly different than NAM 35, particularly the complexity of the features and the installation method. The immediate quit to desktop is usually the result of not applying the 4GB patch that is required. Check out the installation instructions if you don't think you applied the patch.
