Can't locate region files when trying to import

Hi all, I have downloaded some regions to play but I am unable to locate the files when performing Shift + Alt + Ctr + R. It brings up a menu but I can't find My Documents when trying to navigate the menu. I would assume I'm looking for a "Users" folder to locate My Documents but it doesn't appear in that menu. Does anyone have a fix for this or know how I can locate the files? I'm using a 2017 MacBook Air btw. Thanks!

Hi @ixora

I'm only a Windows user here, but I have heard about on Mac the dialog can be a little tricky to use.

See the post @live_cows made here for details of a path which might work for you too. Also it may well be the path needs pasting into the dialog box, as this post explains. I think the issue is because the game has code to lookup the Windows Documents directory, and so on a Mac this needs navigating to manually.

Hope this helps for some guidance. Otherwise we can wait for someone more knowledgable about Mac systems to give some advice.

This was it! Thank you! To put the information in one place where it's easy to explain and read, here it is:

On Mac you can only run maps that work with two files, a .bmp generally named the region's name, then a .jpg/.jpeg/.png named config. Ones with a .sc4 ending won't work. And sometimes the .jpg's don't work either, it's about 50/50. But basically what you do is load up the game, create a new region, then quit the game and find the region in your SC4 files (in a folder called "Regions" it's easier to find on steam version so i recommend using that one but is possible with app store version too). Replace the config.bmp with the one from your download. Then load the game back up, go to the region, and hit SHIFT + CTRL + ALT + R. Make sure your folder with the two files is on your desktop. Then in the window it brings up type in the file name field:

    Users/your username/Desktop/region folder/region file name.jpeg

And click. It should bring up a Creating New City loading screen that will last for like 10-20 minutes then your region will be loaded!
