NAM install problem

I've downloaded from EA website SC4 deluxe.  It worked fine.  So now, I've tried to download the NAM.  I'm not very technical however.  I executed the NAM files and it said all installed. and I have installed Java. And I have x64 computer.

Now when I try to open a city, it locks up my computer and I have to restart it and I cannot get to the city.

I could not seem to load the 4gb_patch.exe file. When  it asks for a file name then says, "Couldn't open executable".  I not sure if this is the problem but from what i've read it seems likely.  Please help.

BTW I am a Windows user.

Went back and checked and I ran the NetworkAddonMod setup. bat file and it said 4gpatch was successfully applied.  So maybe that's not the problem.

I see the files in Documents/SimCity4/Plugins/NAM folder.  It shows 9 folders plus zNAMcontrollerRHD 4GFull folder.

    Hi @svachon

Unfortunately, it looks like you have the game version from Origin. This particular version is not able to be updated to a version that will support NAM. If you are still having issues with NAM, that is more than likely the issue. You can read more about it on @Tarkus 's post here. To get a suitable game version, you can visit Steam or GOG (which has it on sale now it seems). Either version will support NAM. If you use the GOG version, it would probably be more convenient to use the download version rather than using the GOG installer.
