Hi, new member here. I recently installed the SimCity4 deluxe edition from Steam on my mac. I played for a few days only to realize that after a certain amount of time, the growth completely stops. I am spending more time fixing issues than progressing. After doing some research, I found out there are actually plenty of issues/bugs with the factory version of SC4 which makes playing this game very difficult. I was watching this youtube video which listed out 8 essential mods/fixes for the game. Unfortunately, most of these mods/fixes are for the windows version. I was wondering if there is a similar list for the mac steam version? I was able to install the NAM mod as it was mac compatible. But the other mods i found only had windows version. Can you guys point me in the right direction on how I can install these mods in my game?

Thanks in advance.

Note also there is no such thing as a Mac or Windows mod for SC4, all mods can work with either, with the exception of .DLL based mods which simply can’t work on a Mac. Whilst some mods may be distributed in Windows-friendly formats, you should be able to get at the files you need without Windows. Most downloads are simply some form of .zip file, .rar and 7z (7zip) are two less common types. You should be able to open these at worst with a utility. Installers are harder, but there are solutions, for example utilities exist that can extract their files without running the installer. As a last resort using Windows through a VM, BootCamp or similar works too.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

New to the NAM? Check out my tutorials on YouTube. Latest upload: How to: RHW - MHO Roundabout Interchanges. (Nov 25).

p.s. - I'm MGB over on SC4D and a member of the NAM team.

What mods do you mean? Any chance of a list?

I'm asking as @Tyberius06 is working on ProjectZIP (a real long term thing, he's trying to remove all exe installers by converting them to zip), and its always helpful to know what still needs done.
