Oxford and Cambridge Pub, Hammersmith Bridge Road (Demolished in 2008)

This was an Edwardian pub that my great grandfather ran in about 1903.

OK, this is not one of my best - I had a true trugge with this.  The real one had a very tall, narrow roof which was hard to reproduce in Building Architect, so it ended up a bit big an rather squat.

Even so I do note the lack of choice in 2x2 Commercial given be other users, and feel that this does help add to the selection.

Please forgive me, but I request, as a indness, that you delete your last post.  I suffer from chronic ad rampant orthniscelidophbia.  I am sure that it is a superb piece of art and, indeed, I would to have access to your tile set, but the above image is extremely distressing for me.

@Quelquechosedautre I'm sorry but what is orthniscelidophobia? I can't even find a mention of that on Google - closest I can find is ornithophobia (fear of birds), which considering the complete lack of birds I highly doubt that image would trigger.

Hi All

@Quelquechosedautre I think @asasnat was trying to avoid mentioning what this was a fear of....

@asasnat thank you for your quick response in hiding the image and your response to the post.

Currently at work, but will be back this evening

Dear Assanat, my greatest thanks for your kind response.  Unfortunately, it is a problem that I have had since a little child and it remains ultra-intense.

I also accept that this is deeply embarrassing to me, for I have clearly dominated this particular thread for over 6 months and when someone else puts up a beautiful piece of work, I have to ask for it to be taken down.  This is terrible, so I keenly encourage you to put up more of you beautifully detailed work in future - I genuinely would delight in seeing it.  Again, my deepest thanks again for you swift and kind response.  It is genuinely appreciated.  Robert

I am not working on anything in-game, but I have been examining the data files. I wrote a tool for dumping the PAK file data, and another for dumping the DAT/IXF data. I know that both of those have been done before, but I find it to be a lot easier to learn about the formats by trying to decode them than just looking at the data in a hex editor. Both of those tools can write out all of the data in the files, including decompressing the QFS/RefPack compressed entries in the DAT/IXF files. Of course, there may be things that I missed in the DAT/IXF file handling, but it doesn't crash on any of the files I have tested.

Here is a list of all the type ID values I have found in of the old PowerPC Mac install. Sadly whichever studio made that version removed most of the debug info from the shipping binary, I had been hoping that they would have made the same mistake Aspyr made with SC4 and left it in. Fortunately the Linux version has a lot if the C++ type info intact, but converting it into a format that would be usable by DLLs would be a lot of work.

Most of the type values inside the city file are probably the CLSID of a serialized class, but I only know a few of the values in the DAT/IXF files. The values I have decoded so far are:

@Quelquechosedautre Nice looking building. *:)

Btw, I made the name of it a clickable linky in your post so peeps can easily find it on the STEX. (Should you not want that, feel free to edit your post and I won't mess with it again. *;) )

The City of Zhangzhou (I named it "张州", don't confuse it with the real city in Fujian that is called 漳州).

With some self-made buildings.

@Quelquechosedautre Looks good. *:)

And it's ok to also add a linky to your STEX file like this: The Alpaca House

A couple of snapshots taken whilst I was roaming about town...

"Uh, how are we going to get in and out of the property?!"  "S'pose we could always climb over the fence..."

Can't remember if I or anyone else has anyone noticed the text on the side of the "Factory Barn" lot?

Reads to me like "A Productive Sim is a Happy Sim".
