New PC for CS

Hi all, apologies in advance for another one of those "what PC should I get" threads.

I currently have a Lenovo with I7 4790 3.6, 8gb RAM, 1 GB NVIDIA GT 705 graphics card.

I currently have trouble with frame rate once my city expands to about 100 000 although I have disabled many mods.

I'm looking at buying a new desktop for around £2000 and have no idea what I should be looking for so am seeking the advice of you good people.

I would like to play the game with 81 tiles, TMPE and the usual top mods.

Any advice on what I should be looking at would be very much appreciated as I am not very computer literate.

You won't get higher framerates even with a 5.000 Eur\Dollar PC, due to the game engine that is limited and does not fully use the hardware.

However, there is still some margin for gains, and they are mostly driven by the CPU clock speed, so any CPU with at least 4 cores and 4ghz or more.

If you don't use any mods, 8 gb of Ram are enough, but if you plan to use mods or assets (which will happen), you will need 16 at least, 32 for a consideable amount of assets\mods.

A Ssd drive is mandatory (in general, not only for this game).

For the videocard, anything above a Geforce 1080 won't make any difference in this game, but a powerful GPU is important for any other game, so keep that in mind.

 

To make it brief:

High end - CPU with at least a 4Ghz main core. (most important component for this game)

16 Gb ram.

SSD.

Nvidia 1080 or better.

 

Also remember that with high  populations (let's say 80k and more), you won't get more than 30 average fps, no matter the hardware.
