Maxis Tree bug with HBS Californian Tree

I noticed a bug, while terraforming a new city ; with a very full game folder (not mine ; I was troubleshooting my companion's game, but the problem presented with my Working folder --very much less full :-),  we got this when plopping trees in God Mode : plane trees ! Eucalyptus !! Date palms !!! argh.

With an empty folder, the good old maxis tree reappeared. GO to halfsies, then. And finally, the culprit is HBS Californian Trees ; with it only, we got this (with the empty test folder) :

I know Christmas was two days ago, but... :-)

Without HBS Californian trees, the game reverted to Maxis trees, with all plugins folders, Game F. Work F and Empty. Relief !

*** Additional note, which is a question: I was under the impression that with Twrecks Tree replacement mode, planting trees in terraforming god mode would plant his replacement trees.It doesn't  Was I mistaken ? I re-read the readme but I am not 100% sure I understood that part.
