If that's with the Loading Screen Mod on, then try without it. That mod usually breaks and messes with loading.

Edit: I can confirm the Loading Screen Mod is the problem. Just loaded without it and all my custom assets are there.

Stupid question time: how do you get the new Green Cities R/I/C/O buildings to spawn in the vanilla game?

Ok so just to confirm, the new GC district buildings are in Commercial and Residential district specializations, and that's it?

P.S. deactivating LoadingScreen, DynamicResolution, and RICO mods allowed me to load. Let's cross our fingers for speedy updates to these 3 juggernauts! :ninja:

There is also IT HQ Office specialization.

RICO is being worked on and Loading Screen Mod should be in the works too. Dynamic Resolution might be a little while as I don't think the author has beta access, so he's starting from scratch now. But at least it doesn't break anything running without that for a while. :)

Building Themes was the issue in my case.

The RICO betatest mod hooked me up. I'm already back in action, but a few things are kinda wonky; lots of stuff turns black at LOD range. I had something similar to this with vehicles and it turned out to be caused by flag replacer mod (that took forever to find... who'da'thunk'it?). Are others experiencing this?

And what the heck is up with my intersections? It's like somebody rotated the UVs on the crosswalks so they are all going diagonally.

You should try and force an update on Network Extensions 2. This has been fixed already.

Ok great thx for the reply!

So the authors of LoadingScreen and DynamicResolution have removed the mods from the workshop? That's a bit scary. I hope they're coming back. It's like the workshop needs a "temporarily out of order" thing.

Yeah ok I see them again... maybe something was funny w the workshop search :/ Amazing the difference w LSM... I could read a book in the time it's taking me to load now.

I dunno what's going on w my Next2. I unsubbed and re-subbed, intersections still borked. I tried unsubbing, deleting all of the folders, and resubbing, and my intersections are still borked. Next2 update say it has 3 new roads:

    What's new

    10/19/2017:
    -6L Avenue with median
    -1+2 Asymmetrical National Road
    -2+2 National Road

but I don't think I have them. I'm not exactly sure where to look (which tab each new road should be under), but I'm pretty sure I don't have them. Any tips?

Not sure what your issue is. For me, the two new highways are between the standard three-lane one-way highways w/o and with sound barriers on the left and the Mass Transit two-lane two-way highways. You seem to have a different order anyway, but the new highways are in that menu for me, and I don't have funny road crossings.

No, they aren't there. Try exiting and restarting Steam. That sometimes forces updates. I have already been building with those roads.

I have also set C:S updates to highest priority.

Some mods got allegedly updated. One of them prevents zoning and flattening of the ground by roads you lay. Sigh.

Even if you select highest priority for the updates of this game, Steam sometimes schedules the update when there is high traffic.

Anyway, I have an annoying bug that the terrain doesn't update until several minutes (up to half an hour) after you change it via the terrain tool, or just by plopping buildings or roads. It doesn't help with finding the issue that it isn't a consistent problem.

Yikes that sounds like a nasty one.

I'm pretty much back up and running. Only mod I'm really waiting for hungrily is dynamic resolution. Thankfully, GradiusTwin has been great about keeping us updated as he works on the patch.

Does anyone by chance know which mod causes buildings to grow only on lots with the exact building footprint, not on extended lots? Single overhanging cells seem not to matter, but a whole row prevents spawning. For illustration:

    D308F8BF85BBAAB6B2B42972F805C26979C4F6C7

Look at all the empty 2x4 or 1x3 and 1x4 lots.

So, how do I handle this? Do I have to make a proper theme out of those self-sufficient buildings? I noticed I have "International" as city theme; I didn't have a separate theme activated in that district, so maybe that was the mistake. I can also dezone the last one or two rows of the zoned blocks, which makes the buildings spawn. Of course, they also grow normally without the mod, which I could actually try here, as this city is more or less vanilla (Building Themes was originally used for the European buildings in this specific city, which is not needed anymore).

Actually I'm not sure if BT is causing this specific issue, but it modifies the spawning algorithm so small 1x2 row houses can grow in a 4 block deep zone block on both sides.

A similar issue was reported by another user (buildings not growing in certain spots).
