mas71 walls stairs problems

I already sent mas71 a message about this, but I am not sure how active he still is, so I put it here too. I am using the walls packs of mas71 and my stairs look different. Looks like another texture (darker) and poles on the stairs. Also, in the screenshots of the jpn walls, I see a combined two stairs, not three? I am confused. When I remove the walls content, the poles are still there.

Darker and one has poles in it. I added a screenshot. I hope anyone can help me out. Does it has to do with a texture and object pack?

Mas71 updated the set. Maybe the pictures you refer to are outdated?

The poles are maxis default content. They will remain if you remove custom props.

The picture and your description confuses me - do you say you have two different versions of the stairs in your game?

One stair is of the jpn pack, the other one of the walls pack. They look different in my game than in the screenshots of the uploader. I downloaded the set yesterday, so I probably have the updated version. I want stairs like in the left picture (without poles): e05f48cabd6a1fbc08a1bf9eca48bbc0-addon%2

and the one in the bottom picture (two stairs together): 15b00d591d11eb23a40d70cd231dee62-JPN_Wal

What I can tell you though is that MAS71 made two sets of walls, v1 and v2. The former appears in the Parks Menu, the latter in the Power Menu. The stair prop you show is exactly how it's intended, regardless of the screenshot. If you don't want the Lamposts and/or the clock, you'll need to edit them with the Lot Editor to remove the props. If you don't want the hand-rails, that's more of a problem, because it's part of the prop itself so can't be removed. Bear in mind at different zoom levels you may not see all the details, it simply could be the screenshots don't show the same detail you are seeing. Perhaps also the screenshot is of an in-development version? Either way, I don't see anything wrong with them, so I'm fairly certain the issue isn't from an error with the files.

Could it be that you want to use the stair prop from the v1 pack with v2 walls? If that's the case, you'd need again to use the LE to modify the lots to work this way. You can't expect creators to provide every possible combination, for certain MAS71 is no longer active within the SC4 community. Although he was working on mods for Cities Skylines when it came out.

Head over to my Lot and Mod Shack to keep abreast of my latest developments.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

    @Odile1991
A stair In a picture "Base Txture's samples (JPN Walls 01 - 05)" was NOT shared,
It was a BETA VERSION's one of my "JPN Walls Pack 2".
A lot of sc4 files were lost when my HDD was crashed few yars ago, so I cant upload this beta-version now unfortunately.... X( Sorry.

As rsc204 said, A light-pole and clock-pole are MAXIS default PROP, you can remve them to easy on the LotEditor (as IliveReader as well).
Try to do that if you want pls ; )

    Thank you

I forget a how to use SC4 Tools and manage files (lol
ok, Try this for remove PROPs on a Lot with the iLiveReader ; )

    1. Open my file "01_Mas71-Walls2_Essentials.dat" with a reader(iLiveReader).
    2. Find an "Exempler file" at left of screen.
    Type : 6534284a
    Group : a8fdb372
    Instance : 74b56072
    3. you can see a lot of "LotConfigPropertyLotObjectData" (47 lines)
and delete three prperties of bottom, they having data of Light-Pole and Clock-Pole.
(Right-click over them, and select "Delete property")
    4. Save (overwrite .dat file)
    4. Right Click in the LotConfig window (right panel) and select "ReIndex LotConfig" (*** Thanks rsc204 for a supplement)
    5. Save (Overwrite .dat file)

    v0P6JCG.png

You should BACKUP before do this ; )
and NO CHANGE existing Lot on a MAP, you need to remove all of them, and re-plop all stair's Lots ; )

    Hope this helps, Thank you.

It you are going to edit a lot using Reader in this way, having removed the props and before saving the file (i.e. after step 3), you MUST right click in the LotConfig window (right pane) and select "ReIndex LotConfig". Failure to do this will lead to a corrupted lot index, preventing the lot from working.
