If this is a question about the sims in SC4, yes they do. When I first got the game I stuck an old lady into a house in the game, and after about 10 years she died. Her daughter took over the house, and replaced her in the rest of the game. I never got passed that, though.

But yeah, after a while the sims do die.

If this sia question about The Sims, they die also, when they get old or wahtever 3.gif

Interesting. Maybe I just haven't been playing long enough. By the way, Vid, are you a Get Fuzzy fan too?

18.gif This is a funny thread. Yes they do die, but the only disaster I can think of when they don't die is when they are taken away by aliens... but I still think the game considers that death. 30.gif

One way to know if a sim has died from old age becuase the son takes over and it says(for example: Bob Newbie) so bob dies and then the son becomes Bob Newbie the 2nd.

For SC4, people have already answered it but for the Sims or the Sims 2 there hasn't. Just in case you posted this question in the wrong forum, I'll answer the Sims 2 one because the title of the topic and your post can relate to both games.

In the Sims 2, your sim can die if: You get electricuted while repairing something, burn up in a fire while cooking something, especially if you use the stove with none or hardly any cooking skill and have no smoke alarms in the room, go without food for a few days or simply if you are an elderly sim, you will die naturally at the end of the elderly stage. When all of the above happens, the Grim Reaper appears and another sim that you can control on the lot (if any) can try and plead with the Grim Reaper to spare their life. Sometimes he will just kill them, or maybe turn them into a ghost, zombie or an alien if you're lucky.  If they get killed normally, the Grim Reaper leaves a urn of the sims ashes. Then if there is more people in the house, you can continue the game normally but if that was the only, or last person alive in your house, you have to go to the neighbourhood and leave the house vacent or move a family from the Sim Bin into the house.

Hope this helps and sorry if your question was for SC4.

no you can't pick them up.

I think you are thinking of roller coaster tycoon where you can pick up guests and drowned them.

Sims can die of disasters and natural causes. The death by natural cause is affected by your life expectancy rating. The lower the rating the sooner they die. When they die they get replaced by the descendants. They get named the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc. The death by disaster is caused by God(you). They tend to avoid that one pretty well though. I remember blowing up one of sim's houses 7 times and they still didn't die. When he did finally die, he died saving chimpmunks. He just kept just kept going in there and grabbing more and more chimpmunks says local neighbor.39.gif

Build a church or accomplish the right UDI mission and you are rewarded the cemetary, and what are cemetaries for?  Burying dead people.  So my answer is yes.

all sims will die... MySims are the only one that you notice because their obituaries are printed in the News Tickers

i think went thru 4 generations one day [playing for hours in one really dangerous, polluted ghetto city]

i've seen the msgs for most disasters... but it seems like the autosaurus wrecks and robot give me fire msgs.. and i never got a sim abducted

o yeah u gtg make sure ur destroying the building ur MySim is currently in to make em die [either home or work]... idk if u can destroy them while they're commuting somewhere
