Mod to shut teachers up about lack of funding?

I don't want a mod that completely shuts up the health and education adviser completely, or I would have used one of the ones currently available. What I want is something to stop the game from accusing me of never funding my schools enough. (Even if it ends up being a mod that shuts the adviser up about it, instead.)

My problem is that, for some reason incomprehensible to me, the game is CONSTANTLY accusing me of not giving my schools enough funds, despite every school having just enough funds for the amount of students they get in. (Sometimes a little more) Even when I went and put the slider at the highlighted part in the funding menu, I was still getting CONSTANT messages about "threatening to drop the chalk and walk." The dumb thing is that this pending strike never happens. They just keep making threats.

I don't know if this is because I have the Radius Doubler or what, but it is PAST the point of being irritating, and it's actually kind of ruining my enjoyment of the game. On Cheetah speed, in Medium difficulty, I am getting these threats every 30 seconds or so. Sometimes I even go and destroy the schools out of pure annoyance.

So is there any kind of mod that can stop this from happening so dang much? Like I said, I don't want to shut her up completely. I want to know when a strike is happening. I just don't want to be constantly warned of these stupid pending strikes that never happen.

Its not as irritating if you go to Play Options in region view and unclick the Urgent Advice messages.  You won't get pop-ups and can then just ignore the text messages.

Turning off the messages is one way to go, but do bear in mind when problems occur, you won't be warned directly either. This can be problematic when a power plant gets old for example and you don't see the message in the news feed.

If you are seeing these messages, the "trigger" has to do with overall funding. Open the Income/Expenses list, check if Education and Health are considered "fully funded". One problem is that if you reduce the radius of these buildings, that makes the funding here show as less than ideal (slider to the left of the marker). Obviously that's not necessarily true, but it's one reason why such messages appear.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

I just want that one message to be removed, is the thing. I've tried playing with urgent messages off, and decided against it. I rather like the utility guy--he only ever bothers me when something is seriously wrong. The reason I started playing in medium difficulty is because I heard you get notified less.

I usually don't have the money for that, and when the school is only getting 100 kids in, and the max is like 700, it's a complete waste of money that I can't spare. I never bother with the radius--it's at default.

Absolutely, I'm not suggessting you should keep funding high. It's simply the factor that triggers this message in-game. Such messages use something call LUA scripts to check certain conditions and where they exist show messages. It's totally possible to mod this message not to appear or alter the behaviour, however I don't personally know of such a mod being released. Hence the suggestion to turn off the messages completely, most of them aren't helpful, plus if you are keeping a decent eye on your game, it can be managable too.

Just a little question: did you install some mod that replaces the Maxis schools? Or have you updated some custom schools?

When you don't demolish civic buildings before modifying them with plugins, their stats and finances can go mad.

I installed something called Radius Doubler before I started playing the game. That's the only education mod I use.

Such messages use something call LUA scripts to check certain conditions and where they exist show messages.

Would the game have any way of detecting whether or not there's enough schools to deal with the area? I've often wondered if it keeps throwing this message at me because of Radius Doubler allowing me to not have as many schools as I would otherwise need in vanilla game.

Not sure, the data is there, but how easily it would be accessed, I couldn't say. For example, it may be that the necessary variables are hidden in the locked .exe code somewhere.

The message is triggered because your schools/hospitals do not have full funding as per the Expenses Pannel. Of course that's not the reality, since lowering the radius or capacity is a fairly typical usage scenario, even championed by the game's tutorial. But if the bar (total of all facilities) is lower than the point shown in the expenses pannel, considered optimal funding. Which it will be if you've such facilities with lowered capacity/radius in place, you will continue to see these messages. Frankly I don't know enough about LUA scripting to be offering to help. But in theory, once you understand the current script, modifying it as an override to simply remove the conditions for these messages to appear is quite simple. Of course, the same message won't appear either when you really are about to see a strike. Altering the script to account for that change would be far more complicated and require a good understanding of how LUA scripts work.

So you could consider this problem an unfixed bug really.

Excellent find, I may install that one myself.
