I want a Megatall skyscraper in my city

Hello, Members of the sim community. I would like a Megatall Skyscraper in My City. I'd like it to be High Wealth Residential with over 35000 people inside the building, or High Wealth Commercial Office with more than 60000 jobs. I would like it to be a stage 15 and I'd like some of the latest design work. I'd like it for Simcity 4 Deluxe Version 1.1.1.638, Just like the Shanghai Tower or The Burj Dubai. I also want Low wealth Megatalls with over 40000 people inside them. Probably a 7x7 is enough. I have already edited two of the towers with the SC4 tool I have in my virtual machine, so I need those buildings. How can I create them?

I'm sorry your request is not entirely clear.

Are you trying to modify existing lots with new capacities/values? Or are you saying you want some new buildings for this?

Note that for stage 15 to work, you must have CAM installed. Again 35,000 and 60,0000 capacity buildings don't fit anywhere in terms of the original game. it's very unlikely you'd have sufficient demand for either to grow, without CAM neither will work with these figures. Since without CAM the max demand you can have for Res / Com is 6,000. CAM does increase this, but I'm not sure of the exact limits, I believe CAM 1.0 doubled them to 12,000.

I'm not sure why you'd want such high numbers anyhow. I mean, realistically no building in the world is housing 35,000 people. But more to the point, if you are just trying to artificially inflate the number of sims/jobs you have, you risk breaking the simulator in the process. If all you care about is population count, consider that in the grand scheme of the game, it simply doesn't matter. Ultimately your city will look the same if all the buildings have the default or 10x the values. But, 10x the sims having to find work and get there, places incredible strain on your CPU. Beyond a certain point, you'll topple the fastest CPU you can buy today and your game will lag terribly as a consequence.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

I've got the super demand ordinance mod and all that. I've also updated the super demand ordinance so that it is more than 65,000 demand, even though it is not realistic. I have CAM 2.1.0, and Network Highway Mod 34, so it should be a problem. Now, onto the high wealth. I want the high wealth buildings to be around 20000 to 25000 people and to be 1200 meters tall. I would like to build a lot or BAT.

Demand mods can wreck the simulator if you don't fully understand the implications of the changes they make. I wouldn't personally recommend using them.

If you are looking to make a new building, you'll need to use a tool called SC4 BAT to do so, however, I don't think this was ever available for Macs, only Windows. Though using WINE, Bootcamp or Parallels should get around that.

However, if you are looking to make a huge skyscraper, that will be seriously difficult as a first project, unless you've prior experience with 3D modelling. Even very proficient modellers would take between 100 and 300 hours of work to create very large buildings such as you envision.

Assuming though that a suitable model already exists, there are plenty of skyscrapers on the STEX for example, you can just change the properties of an existing lot or make a new lot from an existing building. For that you'll probably need iLives Reader and the Lot Editor, again Windows applications only.

There are plenty of tutorials for making lots, BATs and altering the stats of lots. If you are really keen to start modding, I suggest you take a look in the Omnibus (tutorials) section of the site.

I'm currently building a building that's going to be about 1300-2000 meters tall, and I need to create windows and textures and doors and stuff. I'm also going to create a tilt (not leaning) just like the Shanghai Tower, Only this time, it'll be 135 degrees instead of 120 degrees.

    I'm building it in gMax.

When I installed simcity 4 deluxe into my windows system, and I clicked on my bat installer, it said I don't have sim city 4 deluxe installed. How can that be?

The most common reason would be that the installer fails to find a legitimate, unmodified original SC4.exe file. Otherwise, there is an issue with the digital version of SC4 from Origin, if you have this and don't have another version (disk/digital), you will be unable to install the SC4 BAT tool.

I have the Steam version of simcity 4 for Windows. Will that work?

I also have a gmax file with me. I transferred it over from my virtual machine, and I would like you to texture it and see if you're impressed. It has 58 polygons, and it has over 150 stories and is over 3500 feet tall. I have Yellow, which is industry, Blue, which is commercial, and Green , which is residential. Can you make a Stage 15 building out of that one? it has a 300-foot radius at it's base and an 80-foot radius at it's top. I would like to put a G on the top and add textures and stuff. I want it on a 6x6 lot Here's the file, if you want to take a look at my file, here you go. I suggest you go to gmax for windows users.
