Converting a Ploppable to Growable?

Hello,

I want to convert some of ILL Tonsko's ploppable BATs into growables, but I don't know how to.

I can't seem to do it because my computer detects malware in the SC4 PIM, and SC4Tool always freezes and I have to force close it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Are you talking about PIM-X from SC4Devotion, or the standard PIM by Maxis? If it's PIM-X, then the "malware" part is probably related to a false alarm. Most antivirus tools are not aware of small custom programs and scripts made by hobby programmers from a small fan community, so they play it safe and report "malware" - if it's correct, they did their job, and if it's a false positive, they won't get in trouble with a big software corporation - who cares about that hobby author? Don't let those tools do the thinking for you, because they can't. Part of their business model is (A) to maintain your impression of being threatened, and (B) to make you feel warm, fuzzy and protected and lull you into mental dependency on that antivirus software. A false positive on an unknown software actually helps the company in both respects: You think there was a serious threat, and you think that this valiant, noble tool just saved you. Both is wrong in this case. :meh:
If it's the vanilla PIM installed with SimCity, then the Malware warning is even more absurd.

As for the conversion part, PIM-X (you'll find this tool on SC4Devotion.com) has a conversion feature IIRC. Otherwise you'll have to use the good old vanilla Plugin Manager, the Lot Editor and maybe iLive's reader to make the conversion. You'd basically take the building model and create a descriptor (.sc4desc) for a growable of your choice using the Plugin Manager. Then you'd open the LE, select a growable lot of the corresponding category (e.g. a CO§§ lot for a CO§§ building) and add the building to that lot. You can design the lot as you wish in the process, save, and you're done.

There are more advanced methods, but you'll need some practice with iLive's Reader to utilise them.

Maybe someone can tell you in more detail what options PIM-X has to offer, I frankly don't remember because I haven't used that tool very often and currently don't have it installed.
